    So my 2 cents. First off, your welding skills are commendable. Excellent. A casual but professional review. Doing a video like this has more value than say some beer drinking beltcher in a garage in the sticks. And there are plenty of those videos. As for price, the 4050 is still $1000 in the US or converting to your currency, 792 pounds sterling. So while its cheap relative to a Fronius, there still is a slight financial impact. Having bought cheaper machines (and pricier ones), it comes down to risk. I've had cheaper machines that for the dollar outperformed the more expensive ones. An example. Had a Hynade 225SG MIG welder. Also had or have a Everlast 211Si. On paper the Everlast Multi was a better welder than a the cheaper box. Everlast also has sophisticated electronics along with every YT shill promoting their products but there are risks. Torches, clamps, guns....are cheap. Same as an Amazon welder. In fact you can tell they all come out of the same factory. Your SSMider MIG gun is identical to an Everlast 15 series gun. The Everlast clamp copper lining gave out after 2 months with light use. Was wondering why my welds went bad suddenly. So as you pointed out, this is where many companies cut corners. It comes down to who do you trust with what you can get to work via a cheaper or more cost effective machine and what type of welding do you do. If I were in your category then yes, invest in good equipment with service and warranty available. Someone like me....its not my profession so a cheaper welder is the way to go. And ....if you go to sell the welder, do not expect much money for it. Where I live its Red and Blue. I have been given a lot of flack for trying to sell a cheap Asian machine online for even a low price. If it breaks down or your tired of it....then you have to own it as it were. That is the flipside. Otherwise, read reviews. Watch videos like this and make a good decision. Not everyone needs a Miller or Lincoln or ESAB. This review is an asset.

    I have both expensive and inexpensive machines... To be fair it was down to back up when I made my choices.... If you are making a living from the machines local dealer network is the key in my eyes.

    Another negative with a cheaper welder, is that if they go wrong it's sometimes a bit of a lottery as to wether you can get spare parts to repair it or not. Whereas the more expensive machines can more often than not get repaired.

    Brilliant and honest review of the welder it performed better than I expected it to do especially the plasma cutter very impressed 👍

    Good effort in putting this video together. I note that the machine has a CE mark on the side panel but not on the specification plate on the rear of the machine which according to the regulations it should state CE (UKCA) etc although looking at the plasma torch connection on the front of that machine, it would never pass CE marking rules with that design due to the high voltages involved with plasma cutters! also the operating manual doesn't show any declaration of conformity, which means the machine is not authorised to be sold within the EU, this in itself is a good reason why it's cheap. PS the TA 202 TIG you have was manufactured by WTL and rebranded to the Thermal Arc brand, sadly, when ESAB purchased 'Victor Technologies' the Thermal Arc brand was killed off!

    Great channel, do you ever rate the traditional transformer mig welders ?

  • @rbelang8331
    @rbelang8331 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nice testing you are doing! For the Mig test, the Simder seems to throw more spatter; I would like to see a cut and etch view of each welds... It kept tripping the breaker; it has to do with power factor correction (non-existent on this kind of machine; that could be a pain). Most of these Chinese welders seem to work good out of the box... but a year of use could tell us another story... It could be expensive if you need to buy a new one every year, for exemple... Like you said it is cheap because it has cheap components (both internally and externally). Anyway, you would need to do a longevity test! BTW, We don't have Kempi on this side of the pound; I would definitely look for one of them if I you grab one...

    You can always change that torch for mig welding I'm assuming anyone that buys this is going to use wire welding instead of MMA or anything else maybe TIG welding but how many people really stick weld anymore AKA MMA I can count myself in the MMA category but it's a lot of work versus MIG welding and MIG welding is so much cleaner

    Serious question: I'm considering the AlphaTig 203xi or x or i (forgot their naming). I'm trying to compare this Simder to AlphaTig to ArcCaptain to Everlast. Does anyone have experience with the AlphaTig and this Simder?
