Excellent clear explanation and visuals thanks Silvana 😀 I’m long legs short torso so will play with my wardrobe on the weekend and see what I come up with for re-proportioning my shape 😀

I really enjoy your videos! I also love that you're wearing tailored Bermuda shorts in your very stylish outfit! You prove that if the shorts are the right color and length for your body, paired with the correct top, shoes and accessories, they look chic and sophisticated. Great job!

This is very interesting, and, like others I find it refreshing to hear you talking about things many style TH-camrs skip over when giving broad advice. I'm finding that dressing oneself is an art, and it's more about understanding all these features and how they come together. Sometimes a body or an outfit "breaks the rules" (for good or bad) and, just as if we were talking about a painting, we can take a step back and see what is changing the balance in this case. Thank you for emphasizing balance and giving more features to consider as we put together outfits :)

Hi R Jones, so glad to read this feedback because that’s exactly my goal here to bring awareness inwards and you put it so beautifully, styling is an art and we are the canvas. Thanks so much for sharing this and have s wonderful day!

Being petite I certainly have to be careful of fabrics. Enjoyed this film and its going to be helpful to so many women xx

Well, I finally figured out I am long torso with short legs. Thank you!!
This explains why I look good in empire waist dresses. Also my pants are always too long for my size. I have 27 in. inseam. I am only 5'2" and plus size with pear shape. A video to help us plus size women would be great too. Good luck with this channel.

I am barely 5'2 and not a very "visual" person (that is, I don't really "see" a lot of things that others seem to take for granted, if that makes any sense; I also have a very hard time visualizing things in my head), and for a long time, I hadn't been able to figure out, for the life of me, why high waisted jeans and pants look dreadful on me and make me look much heavier than I am, when all I ever read and saw in videos was that high waisted anything makes petite women look taller. Well, they made me look like crap.
It was only a few days ago (I am 46... just about time, I guess) that I realized I had a short torso. Again, I don't "see" it, per se, but using your method as well as another one I found just the other day, it is very obvious.
What boggles my mind is that, intuitively, I had always worn low-waisted pants (I will even push down the waist of joggers and just let them hang, which 99% of style gurus say is a huge mistake for short women - except when one has a short torso, I guess), and it wasn't until everything became high-waisted a few years ago that I started listening to all these YT "experts" telling me they MUST look good on me because I am short, even though I really didn't want to listen. Ugh.
Sorry about the tangent. I just wanted to thank you for your video and advice, it really solidifies my recent revelation, and now I can go back to wearing my beloved low-waisted pants. EVERYTHING you say about women with a short torso and longer legs, is 100% spot on for me, it's everything I see when I try on clothes and look in the mirror, intuitively, I just never actually understood WHY. Literally, everything. Being 5'2, I had never thought of myself as "long legged", so I had always thought I had to make my legs look longer. I had never heard anyone explain it so clearly for the complete "body blind" amateurs like myself. Seriously, THANK YOU.

Glad to hear and well done for following your intuition! You’re right such an important aspect and very much neglected

I loved this Silvana, simple and easy. I have a long torso and short legs and I couldn't work out why I felt uncomfortable in most v necks. You are a great style inspiration for me, the best I've found by far. Would you mind saying how tall you are? I'm 5'2 but I think most of your styles suit me!

You provide good info - would be nice to show you wearing more sample outfits instead of just describing them. Please do a video for muscular (fit) rectangles 50+. I have a c-section "pouch" that no amount of planks can get rid of but I am very fit. I hate wearing belts or tucking shirts in because I am self-conscious but want to look in proportion. I wear jackets and use accessories when appropriate and follow other guidelines for rectangular shapes but any additional advice is always helpful.
