    greetings earl, i have a new xrt myself, been in the hobby many many years, after 5 full packs I to noticed some fishy short cuts. started at the front and so far every single bearing is bone dry.. have not made it to the font diff but i did exactly the same method with removal filling and installing. this is such a crime at the expense we pay for such a overlooked simple fix. thank you for showing more in depth detail on the rear end. Im a bit nervous at the center diff side but clearly your video shows what to expect, and yet simple and straight to the point details. please continue to post videos. so much great tips and tricks. i hate the idea of throwing away working parts just to make things simple or lazy habits, its all part of the hobby.

    Man that bearing SUCKS...... like how many of us is gonna check that bearing and look at the striping involved to get to it, and a practicaly dry diff. Like does the manufacturer reckon that's enough... Who knows, I'd like there to be more. Unreal. Thanks for another great vid Earl it's good to see how to strip it down 💯👌

So after watching your video I decided to check my centre diff seeing it was apart, it was full of 20 at, a lot of work to do it . I’m glad I checked it. Replaced the bearings with fast eddys. I'm always using the marine grease whereever there is contact with water. And I try to add the washers where bearings are exposed. I use yellow synthetic home cleaning towels for that. They get some grease from bearings and stop water from washing out the bearings, i.e. works as an oil seal.

  • @kevinwalker7102
    @kevinwalker7102 ปีที่แล้ว

    Earl! I picked up a jewelry cleaner for bearings. I have (2) sets for most of my bigger rcs. That way when im doing repairs or upgrades, I just switch them out as needed. I put dividers in the box so they all dont mix. Cheers!

    How often do you all service your bearings and differential fluids? I typically blow out dirt/water/debris with compressed air after each run, but I don't know how often to lube/clean these components. I've definitely gone through some deep-ish water, so I'm guessing I'll have to get some new bearings.
