UBC Okanagan Mural Project: Students Transform Kelowna's Outdoor Art Scene

As part of the UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Fine Arts program, instructors David Doody and Jorden Doody supervised the creation of four murals painted on the buildings of Kelowna. These large-scale paintings are part of a community-based beautification project that guides students through the steps of planning, pitching and painting a public mural.
The mural painted in the summer of 2023 continues the theme of the previous three murals in downtown Kelowna-sensitive habitats and ecosystems of the Okanagan. Each mural depicts local flora and fauna to help bring awareness to some of the sensitive habitats in the local area.
