  • As part of the UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Fine Arts program, instructors David Doody and Jorden Doody supervised the creation of four murals painted on the buildings of Kelowna. These large-scale paintings are part of a community-based beautification project that guides students through the steps of planning, pitching and painting a public mural.
The mural painted in the summer of 2023 continues the theme of the previous three murals in downtown Kelowna-sensitive habitats and ecosystems of the Okanagan. Each mural depicts local flora and fauna to help bring awareness to some of the sensitive habitats in the local area.

The UBC Okanagan mural project video is a captivating showcase of how students are transforming Kelowna's outdoor art scene. The guidance of instructors David Doody and Jorden Doody in leading students through the creation of these large-scale murals is truly inspiring. The focus on sensitive habitats and ecosystems of the Okanagan adds a meaningful layer to the project, making it not only an artistic endeavor but also an educational one. This video is a testament to the talent and dedication of the students and faculty at UBC Okanagan, and it's exciting to see how they're beautifying the community while raising awareness about important environmental issues. ❤
