      Glad you enjoyed the video. It's really easy to underestimate the Tour of Idaho. You're right, it's no joke.

    Love the view when you record right up on someone else riding. It gives me the feeling I riding the ride myself. Great video, and you guys are solid riders. cheers

      Glad you are enjoying it. The GoPro is such a wide angle lense that it it is surprising how close you really have to ride behind someone to really have them be close enough in the final shot.

    Beautifully done. Everything about it, including the care you took doing the Google Earth map work. Would love to get a copy of your KMZ trails files for this vid to help plan a coming-soon similar run.

      Yep, the sand can be fun on a 500. More videos coming Marshal (I really enjoyed yours from previous years as well).

    Mike these are great videos. It looks like you and your buddies had an awesome adventure.
    I’m very curious about your radio set up a couple of buddies and myself are about to take a big ride and we’re discussing options. What did you guys run? And how did you do it?

    • @ridewithmike962
      @ridewithmike962  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We used Baofeng short-wave radios that were reprogrammed to use a GMRS channel. We used headsets in our helmets with a push to talk button on the bars. They were wired which was a bit of a pain because you had to plug in every time you got on and off the bike, but we intentionally chose these over the many bluetooth options because the range is exponentially better and we wanted to be able to ride out of each other's dust.

      We have those radios already so that’s good. How did you program them and what bar mounted push to talk button did you use?

      @@caputo116 we used these from PlanetHeadset, but there are a lot of options out there. www.planetheadset.com/Snowcom.php

    Awesome accomplishment. Congrats! Enjoy the editing/narrating style, shows trail miles! What battery setup are you running to capture so much footage? Assuming you loaded up a lot of memory cards? Thanks for posting, helping get through winter’s cabin fever.

      Glad you're enjoying it Drew. I had 3 extra GoPro batteries and would charge them in a separate charger throughout the day and then swap them out as needed.

    Did I hear a 2 stroke? How was that on the trip?

      Good ear. Yes, my friend Charles was on a 2019 Husky 250 TEi (TPI version). It was awesome and wasn't a liability at all. His gas mileage wasn't quite as good as what I was getting on my 500, but for the most part, that wasn't a problem. He bowed out after Day 4 of the Tour, but it was for health reasons and had nothing to do with his bike. I'm confident the bike would have made it fine.

    Does anyone ever catch any grief about not having a street legal, plated bike in the places where on highways or city streets?

    • @ridewithmike962
      @ridewithmike962  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our bikes were plated. If you're asking if you would catch grief if you rode it without a plated bike, that would be up to you. I'm sure you would be fine for the vast majority but you do go through a few normal towns and highways.
