I've always loved how you explain that it's okay to 'sell'. It was something I struggled with in the beginning, but the way you describe it reminds me of how many people I've benefited from because they had something I needed from them too. It's great. Thanks for keeping it real! I wonder if it's possible to have an email list without a blog...I feel like they sound like a combo. I'm not sure I'm ready for a blog, but I hear you about email lists loud and clear! :D
Any format is good! Whatever works for you. I too always make goals and a to do list that is too long. I’ll have to work on that one. My younger self - I wish I had posted to my TPT store during Covid. I was so focused on content creation in my own classroom that I forgot about TPT.
Your car only lasted 15 years? I'm going on 24 years with my truck :) I'm not good at self promotion either but I've known from training I did with Cutco knives back in the 90s that it's so important to actually ask for the sale. We were trained to not give up until we heard three No's. And you never know who you'll meet. They might not need your product but maybe their spouse does. Or sister. Etc. Oh, those artificial deadlines! My husband also reminds me that these are self imposed and not like school report cards, etc.
I did like the style of this video! And I think the advice I would give myself would be to just go for it and start! I was first planning to become a seller in 2014. I am kicking myself now for not just jumping in then, (although I cringe to think what my resources would have looked like in those days!)
Thank you so much for the tips!! I’m thinking about doing this, but couple of things I wonder: Do I come up with a shop name or use my first name ? Logo? I teach middle school science and have a masters in reading. Which, I eventually want to teach middle school science/ high school science. Next, before I start, should I at least have 10-15 products before I open it? I know the first one needs to be free.
