      To be fair, it's because doing physics and understanding physics are two different things, ESPECIALLY in quantum mechanics. My most amazing teacher would give us super nice intuitions for quantum stuff but the math is unavoidable. I distinctly remember us doing an exercise where we had to figure out the work function of a specific metal using an electron microscope, and at first it was like "So imagine a wave in water trying to get over a flood barrier, it needs more height right?" and then "Hey here's the dimmensional analysis to prove that this height is potential energy". That was cool and intuitive. Next thing he did was write down a differential equation the size of our whiteboard and told us "Get solving now".
      That's just how physics is. You cannot avoid the nitty-gritty math sometimes. Every explaination that isn't a raw, unbiased equation is wrong... and even our equations are simplifications already sometimes (shoutouts to ignoring gravity at the quantum scale despite it technically existing). Makkit is admitedly really good at the intuition part, but that only gets you so far with QM.

    I spent a few hours trying to figure all this out on my own a while ago and I think I got through most of it, but your explanations of color charge and W and Z bosons, and especially the Higgs boson, made some ridiculously advanced concepts much easier to grasp. In addition, putting in bleeding edge research (like that stuff about photons colliding to make tauons) makes it especially interesting, I got completely blown away when I realized this was uploaded just yesterday. Please continue making videos like this, it's some of the best content I've ever seen.

      You can continue to learn and eventually you’ll have a fundamental understanding of chemistry, the way that physics works and was used to create the very device you’re watching this on. You can learn the math and how we got to where we are in physics and you’ll no longer need to question the fundamental concepts and math.
      I did it. I encourage anyone willing to make the investment in learning it. You can do it on your own. Took me 15 years, but I only took one college level course. The rest I learned on my own time.

    I think it’s kind of hilarious how there are red-antired and blue-antiblue gluons because you can make them in a sort of kludgier way than all the others, but you can’t pull the trick a third time so the green-antigreen gluon, to put it in roughly understandable terms, only partially exists as a vestige of the original GUT force shoved into the electromagnetic field. A boson literally got kicked off the island after the Planck era ended.

    The quarks themselves must be subject to the repulsive forces of the electric charge and the attractive forces of the color charge, which means that there must be a bond between the electric and color charges, i.e. uniform force interaction between electromagnetism and strong intrmeration. In fact, all four interactions must be coupled through some unified short-range field and its corresponding charge.

    The subatomic structure seems to have arguable way more complexity than atoms (with only the core and an electron “cloud”, and only either positive, negative and neutral charge) so it seem like both larger formations (like compounds, polymers, proteins) and subatomic structures have more complexity. The minimal point of complexity seems to be the atoms. As if atoms were somehow more fundamental than the fundamental elements and forces with their rather complex (assumed) interactions. It looks obvious that less complexity should always mean being more fundamental. How does this add up then?

    • @OnePieceFan4765
      @OnePieceFan4765 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I mean atoms are pretty complex too when you consider quantum effects and all that stuff. Fundamental doesn’t necessarily mean simpler or easier to understand it just means that the bigger stuff is made up of it

    Making title 'World Beyond Atoms'

    Adding some basic or popular references so people will click
    And
    Making thumbnail a little more understandable and simplified
    Atom or quarks or string theory images which catches attention
    Having quarks or atoms or such names written horizontally so people's eye would catch on it

    I suspect that a lot of my biggest confusion with all this comes from us calling them all particles as if they are somehow all the same kind of thing. Also it's kinda hilarious how this started with "we have too many fundamental particles" and ended with a new system that has a shit ton of elementary particles.
