    Super helpful! Click and ship makes it sound like you only need the one form even though there's 3! Will be removing my 1 form and taking to shipping location:))

    Hi, thank you for your helpful videos on this topic! One thing I haven't been able to find an answer for is how to declare value on a customs form for items that didn't cost anything. For instance, I received a couple items from a fan event that were completely free and want to send them to a friend overseas. Would I enter "0" in the "5. Value" part of the form, or should I try to estimate how much they would have cost if I had paid for them? Thanks in advance!

      The post office told me that I can't have a 0 for anything. (I had a rock in my package, obviously $0) So she told me to just put $1.

    This might be a dumb question, but how do I declare money for customs fees so my package doesn't get held up in customs, and so that the person I'm sending the package to doesn't have to pay customs fees? Thanks in advance!!(:

    Question...
    Is this formula to pay VAT in advance (so the reciever don't have to pay it) ? Or just to declare to the custom (pay fees at reception)?

    This may be a dumb question, but if I'm shipping something to Germany, on the outside of the package, I'm addressing it to "Deutschland." On the customs form is it important to match the shipping address and write Deutschland, or should I just write "Germany?"

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For both, I'd go with Germany. They say that, "The Country Line must be understandable by the USPS. Therefore, use the English name of the country (INDEX), not the local name, e.g. use GERMANY, not DEUTSCHLAND. To be more precise, use the same name the USPS uses for the country in the IMM, e.g. GERMANY and not FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY."
      And this is how the universal post code database writes German addresses: bit.ly/3LQCJNr

    Hi! I am trying to mail my friend in London some handmade gifts. It's mostly just a letter, a friendship bracelet, and some art/stickers . When filling out the customs form I am unsure what to put for the value since it is all handmade and didn't cost me anything?

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd either put something along the lines of how much it cost you in materials to make those or whatever you think their value would be if you sold it. They make you put in a value for insurance purposes and duty/taxes. But since you'd be listing them as gifts and they cost lower than $100 you should be fine on both those fronts.

    I don't own a scale and i cant use the one at the post office for the individual items inside the boxes. I already know the full weight of the boxes packed (im having to go back through them since i was unprepared the first time i brought them to the post office) so should i just guess how much of the weight is made up by each item?

  • @vfrizz9011
    @vfrizz9011 ปีที่แล้ว

    What if I want to ship more than four items? In the bottom left-hand corner, there are only four lines in the direction say right only one item on each line…

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  ปีที่แล้ว

      According to the form, it says "if there's insufficient space on the form to list all items, use additional forms as need." So you'll just need to fill out another customs form with all the same information, but with the additional items that didn't fit on the first one. You don’t need to fill out the name and address on the continuation. At the post office, they’ll staple the pieces together.

    Hi I have a question. I'm sending pokemon cards from Europe to USA. And the package arrives to us within 2 days. But takes 3-4 weeks to get to the buyer. This is extremely distressing. I mark the package as gift value 20$ . Pokemon card.. I'm not sure what im doing wrong. As when I use express shipping . Which costs 4 times as much the same slow speed is being used to deliver.

    If I have 2 pieces of hard hat liner, I just fill out 4oz. and $40 on the form, right.

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's an "(Ea)" for each next to net weight and value so for those you have to put the weight and value of one. Then when you're calculating the total, just make sure to multiply those amounts by the quantity. So if you were only sending 2 pieces of hard hat liner, it'd be quantity 2, net weight 2oz, value $20. Then for the total, net weight 4oz, value $40.

    What to do if you have many different items to ship in one box?

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'd have to list them all. But if there's a group of items that are similar to each other like let's say socks, then you can just list it as socks and put whatever quantity.

    There's only four lines for items, but I have 7 I want to send in the box. Should I combine the shirts as one item with a quantity of three (the shirts are all different designs)? Or the earrings and bracelet as jewelry with a quantity of two? Or can I only send 4 items?

    • @InnominateKraken

    Hiii, I have a questions when filling out the custom forms for the description and quantity im confused because I’m sending 7 tshirts along with other stuff where it says quantity am I supposed to write 7 or I’m supposed to write 1 for the quantity for each shirt?

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! You can write 7 for the quantity of shirts. It's more for different kinds of items. So you can lump shirts together.

    I’m sending a package to my girlfriend who lives in canada & I’m wanting to send her some clothes & a ring. But I did see that it states on the restrictions for Canadian Customs. Will i be okay? also would i need a flat rate box or can i send it through a padded envelope?

    • @InnominateKraken
      @InnominateKraken  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure, you can use a padded envelope. And looking at Canada’s restrictions: “gold, silver, platinum, manufactured or not; precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles may be sent only in insured parcels…platinum, gold, and silver; precious stones; jewelry; watches; and other valuable articles are prohibited in Priority Mail Express International shipments to Canada,” I think as long as you ship it as something other than Priority Mail Express International and purchase insurance, you should be able to ship that ring. If anything, when you bring the form to the post office, the clerk should be able to tell you if you can.

      And did you pay for the postage already on Click-N-Ship? If so, then I'd bring along that outdated form along with the physical forms you filled out to show that you paid for postage already. Of course that's all just in case, it's better to be safe and bring everything.
