The “sorted” sketch looks like a parody of a show at the time called “get stuffed” it was made by students in a rather similar fashion showing how you could eat well at college for little money

If you didn't know, the Sinn Féin interview with the guy inhaling Helium is a parody on one of the restrictions on IRA supporting Sinn Fein at the time - when appearing on British TV news (or interviews), their words could not be broadcast directly, but were usually spoken by an actor. The actors used tended to have heavy, heavy Northern Ireland accents as if to emphasise that the man talking about a united Ireland, was actually Irish 🤨.

@@ClaireWW How is that not what transphobia is? Are you saying transphobia has nothing to do with violence? Unfortunately, when you leave your front door you're in a communal-area known as the world and you're no longer allowed to censor what someone has to say, the catholic church censored the media for years and look at how boring that was😅🙄 So unless someone's actually being physically violent I wouldn't waste my time getting offended at them, it's a waste of energy in a democracy, I've been called some horrible slurs but unless they actually threaten my safety I'm not gonna let it get to me.

@@skipstopstart So racism is only beating people up? Sexism is only rape? Homophobia is only stabbing people? Antisemitism is only genocide? All prejudices and phobias can be expressed in multiple ways. And if you have any sense at all you know this is true. You're just giving your own a free pass.

With regards to the 'Sorted' segment I believe this is a parody of these late night short form info segments that used to run on ITV. I can't remember what they were called now but I seem to remember it was mostly for cooking recipes, the "wash your hands" clip was taken directly from that. If anyone else used to stay up late to watch 'In Bed with MeDinner' or WCW Superstars in the 90s like I did they may have seen them also.
Also just noticed the bit bit where he says "hello Dad are you dead" is very reminiscent of the end of I'm Alan Partridge series one where he says "Hello Chris are you dead" - I wonder if that's where that line came from.

@@elfboy29 Do a search, there are a couple of episodes on YT, it may jog your memory. I found this info...
Get Stuffed originally started life as short segments on the now defunct Lifestyle Channel which was one of the early Astra satellite channels. Honing the idea, Last Ditch TV took the format to ITV who aired the series between 1991 - 94. The show usually aired in the graveyard slot, often after midnight.
Episodes were generally between 5 and 10 minutes long and this allowed the series to amass 284 episodes of culinary madness. There was at least one Christmas special which ran to 30 minutes and a recipe book published under the title 'Banquets for Bankrupts'. The series was off air for several years, but 108 of the episodes were repeated on ITV between 2001 - 2005.

People were crazy for near death experience stories in the 90s, for some reason. When Gandalf said "I had been sent back" in the LOTR movie, it really sounds like he's relaying one for some 90s documentary.
