Madam on Sanjeev kapoor Kazana, don't do this to Methi leaves like adding salt removing its water the bitterness in it is good for health. I tell u how to cook when u fry onions & chillies add this fenugreek leaves fry well add turmeric then add chilli powder, salt fry well then add the cooked dhal mix well. This is morethan enough. No need to remove the bitterness it taste awesome
Madam Bhooma Devi, I agree with you. In fairness to the Madam Chef, she did mention removing bitterness as an option for those who don't like that taste.
I am a lover of dahl, I always have it my freezer or fridge, never tried the methi leaves but I will from now on as I know fenugreek seeds and leaves are good for your hair. Great Recipe
Your presentation is always excellent. Squeezing out the moisture from the methi will indeed reduce the bitter taste but will also proportionally reduce the beneficial health effect of this herb......
Madam you have added more water to dal hence it is fizzing out of cooker and there is tip to it to stop the fiz ,kindly add little edible oil to avoid fizz of cooker while cooking dal
All good excellent.. Just thought to tell you.. Always remove the pressure cooker visel and then lid .. Just be cautious when you open the pressure may hit your hand due to release of cooker lid
Very nice receipe. Especially the tip given for taking off the strong flavour of Methi is excellent. Just now I read, then I cooked, tasted and came here.... It is Yummmmy thanks Balaji-Sydney-Australia
I haven't see you adding lemon juice in your receipe, however I do see that you told to have in the ingredients. Could you please tell me should we add lemon juice or not, if yes, then when we need to add?
+Appi Bela I saw him say this in the comments "If you are adding lemon juice, make sure you add at the end, after the dal is cooked. Happy Cooking! sanjeevkapoorkhazana "

When did u add lemon juice
Ma’am when to add lemon 😮
Excellent yummy dal
so the nutrients of methi are lost along with salt
Yahu Yahu avoid tht step if u like ...simple ..chopping up the leaves will increase the bitterness ..but if u can handle then super
Exactly
thank u .. too good.. can we add palak with methi leaves
Super. Add a bit of oil in cooker so that dal won't come out with whistle.
All good excellent..

Should we add lemon to it or not ????

Maybe by adding lemon juice to the recipe will help cut down on the bitter flavor from the Methi.

Interesting to know.

To dal add little oil/ghee & reduce water (can add more water after...)content so that it won't come out of cooker or you can use separator
