The media landscape is so convoluted 😭 The Kodansha and Disney partnership was a sad moment when it was initially announced and it's not looking good now that they are exercising on that partnership. Disney needs to shape up or get out of the anime game.
Business decisions are always about putting the needs of a business first. If the decision benefits consumers, that's a bonus. And if consumers can be used to benefit a business, that's the play. Sorry to sound so cynical, but when I think about this my mind drifts to the lifespan of a humble microwave. I know how long we had the one my parents bought in the 80s. And I know how long the ones I've purchased have lasted. That's the play, folks.
