Hey JP would love to see how to program my MC 8 to do all the variations and drum programs plus tempo, could do away with my Beat Buddy. Would pay for a tutorial of that bud Great video and super helpful. Roland needs to employ you bud.😃
Hi, I was wondering if you can make a video on the 3/4 or 6/8 tempo? I cannot find videos on it or how to do it. Can you help me please? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Press and hold the Rhythm button, press the right arrow to go to page 2. There you will see BEAT and you can change it there. The memory must be free of any audio before doing this otherwise it won’t change.

No built-in reggae beats however yes, you can plug in your buddy, or you could just do this.. th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pklk-qs80gdOjR-M
No it has 4 beat patterns that you can switch in each memory.. but better than that, you can make your own beats! Have a look: th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=l3-a57RCJ1wLn6H3
One of the first things I did when I received my rc600 was go through the rythems. I find a lot of the variations are similar. Like a, c almost identical and same for b, d. I really hope the next update will include a parts section like on the rc500. That way to can have more variation control without having to plug into software editing tools.
@@JohnPaulMusicUK that option is great for when you want to get that detailed. But as I was saying that requires hooking up to a computer, having software to make the beat and so on... say you just want a simple 4/4 kick. As you know, there is no rythem in the 600 with that and no option internally to do so. Then you need to hook up the computer and all that just for this simple beat. Unfortunately not every user is set up with a music room with a computer and music editing software readily accessible. Like I said. It a shame they omitted that parts option from the 500.
Yes and no. Not from the default rhythms as they only have one kind but you can make your own with 4 variations, so technically yes. It would be the same ‘kit’ and the same bpm unless you tap tempo but yeah it could be done. Alternatively you could change memories up or down whilst playing and the RC-600 will change to it seamlessly if you have the loops set to loop end. That way you could have one memory as the verse and another as the chorus but also the second memory could have a completely different rhythm set to it. Anyways, check this out: th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y2Yd7AXqvytuvJBb
Unfortunately not.. but have a look at these two videos that will help: - th-cam.com/video/YHI-Do0U3lI/w-d-xo.html - th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.html
Is there any way to change rhythm patterns instead of variations? On RC300 I could change from a kick drum to a full beat and back again, but can’t seem to be able to do that on RC600. That’s probably the only thing I prefer on the 300 to the 600. Cheers.
Yes, you are right. It doesn’t have that you can import the exact one you want. So you could build a beat where part 1 is just a kick and part 2 is that full beat by doing this: th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=etzLtOS7kd4szhap
Yes. 100% 👌 Remember that I didn’t go through every time signature and tempo speed really changes the feel. However should you need a specific rhythm you can program your own and import them. 👍🏻 Here’s the video for that: th-cam.com/video/CvYEyoQn1Eg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8mADLj2Kt-P8YDoC
As you were scrolling though it sounded like the parts had different velocity/ dynamics depending on the part Is this the case or just the phone speaker I’m listening on? If so can the dynamics be adjusted in the editor ? Thanks for all your thorough content I’m binge watching your vids trying decide between the 5 and 600.
Yo. 👋 They were all filmed the same way (actually in one take) so dynamics should be the same. So between 505mkii and 600? It’s a real tough call and they each have their pros.
Great question and unfortunately no. It’s per memory. However, the way (sort of) round it is to make a track without any loops and with the volumes and beats you want and then save it to the memory and then save it again to the next memory. That was every time you go for a new memory, you can just save the blank one like a template to another memory and it’s ready to be played with. 👍🏻 it’s more work but no where near doing it 99 more times manually! Hope that helps.

Thank you. It’s a long one but it’s worth it. Wonder if it’s worth making it into a podcast episode so you can hear them on the go! Haha

Yes. You can route it to just the headphone out or one of the subs. 👍🏻
Can the RC-600 be customized to play from a preset list of rhythm tracks in a single memory bank to create a rhythm progression without use of midi?
