Thanks for the vid! Have you ever came across a X-700 where the aperture lever won’t work, causing all shots to be taken wide open regardless of what aperture the lens is set to? I have one doing this…hesitant to rip it open

How off were the shutter speeds? Any change of a full video about testing shutter speeds?

Unfortunately this was back in like March but the issue was that on any shooting function that wasn't one of the auto settings the shutter would fire at 1 second, I suspect that the little bit of metal was bridging the circuit that controls the shutter speed input to the IC making it register as a one second exposure. after cleaning it though all the speeds were accurate.

@@RompingBronco Cool. I should've watched the whole video before commenting :D Anyway would still like to learn more about how you test shutters.

You are all good! I couldn't find the first part of the video where I walk through what's wrong with the camera and all of that so I'm actually glad you commented so I could clear that up!
I used to use an Arduino board with a laser and receiver but noticed some consistency issues at speeds higher than 1/250 so I ordered a new unit that I test with and will probably make a video on in the next couple of days.
