- We said it would be out when it’s out and we like that, and, well, it’s out and we do indeed like that! A lot, in fact! It’s finally here! Game & Lore’s first complete video! It’s been a long time coming but we’ve done it! Consider this a late Return to Dream Land 12th anniversary (10/24/11) celebration video. We know you guys have been anticipating this and we’re glad to finally reward you all for your patience. Kirby is one of my favorite series and I really do hope this will be the start of something new for series of all kinds. Of course, the channel will not be entirely dedicated to Kirby, but that will likely be the most prevalent series you’ll see on here.This is definitely not going to be the standard length for videos going forward either and we’re going to take a break from Kirby before we swing around to the light novel version of Magolor mentioned in this video. Regardless, we really look forward to bringing more content to you in the future! Thank you all!

One tiny thing you may have not mentioned:
RTD was meant to have multiple endings and the ending you got was dependent on whenever or not you got all the orbs.
If you don't have all the orbs, you get the bad ending in which Magolor's Soul gets dragged off in a portal.
If you DO have all the orbs, you get the good ending where he goes back to his normal form and vanishes.
Ultimately, the plan was scrapped and you got what was mean to be the good ending, whenever you got all the orbs or not.
The bad ending was ultimately used in Deluxe's True Arena.
So Magolor souls defeat was based on the bad ending concept?

Something I should also note is that Master Crown’s pause description states that even though it amplifies the user’s power, it also amplifies the darkness in the person’s heart. Also, according to Meteorz, the Japanese description added the fact that the crown traveled to many different worlds to destroy them before the events of the game.
This makes me wonder why Magolor would even want to use that crown for anything when all he wanted to do was make amusement parks instead of conquering the universe. I say this because when Magolor wasn't mutated into those ghastly-looking monsters, he was talking about how he always wanted to make amusement parks for his friends in the extra mode, and in the Magoland mode once you complete every mission. Yet, once that crown mutated him, he was talking about conquering the universe without any mention of amusement parks.
This leads me to believe that he initially wanted to (somehow) use the crown’s power to make amusement parks as opposed to conquering the universe for the sake of it.
What are your thoughts? Do you think he wanted to use the crown’s power to rule the universe or make amusement parks?
I think it's possible! A very common theory I've seen is that the Master Crown kinda steered him in its direction, like the One Ring in Lord of the Rings. I personally think it's something like Eggman, where he wants to use this power to rule the universe but he wants to enjoy himself while doing it, so why not build amusement parks while you're at it, right? It's strange but it's totally possible he could still do both.
@gamenlore0491 I was thinking of a tragic back story for him where he was ridiculed for being weak, and he wanted to be powerful, but the master crown twisted it into revenge
@@gamenlore0491 I think that makes sense because it’s established that the Master Crown can override the user’s free will with its own. But we will have to see what the director says because, for all we know, it could be either one. And it's unknown whether or not Magolor even knew the crown could possess its user.
12:20 it threw me off that HAL used Magolor Soul instead of Traitor Magolor form 2 for the light novel and Magolor Epilogue because of how often the second traitor form was referenced in Kirby Star Allies in some of the unlock able pictures.
Plus, I also liked the second traitor form more than the soul variant because of the wing structure, the voice clips, and the shape on his wrists.
Finally, a really good Kirby lore video that doesn't make a bunch of obvious mistakes! Well done

@@gamenlore0491 the dream kingdom is in another dimension it's between dimensions and not altered universe not able created snapshots of characters and places like in Fortnite not even a clone like meteorz said thought's created parallels versions but need powerfully objects or at random which really rare, they materialized.

Extensive research, a necessary touch of humor, and INCREDIBLE presentation, if you're new to Kirby, want to get into it, or are even on the fence about it, and don't know what this blue gremlin's deal is, this video is a must-watch. It's a half hour, but there's just that much to unpack, and it's all streamlined into a concise, easy-to-follow start-to-finish that sheds all the light Magolor needs to have shed on him. Giiiiven the fact that it's a part one of two, with the second diving into stuff less main-series LOL
If you don't mind a little constructive criticism though, sometimes Lori is in the way of the text being presented onscreen - maybe have her take a step back into the corner temporarily at a time so we can see it in full for the future? Just a little thing.
And the True Arena section. Dudes. Artful.
Let this video be the birth of a grand digital encyclopedia for fans old and new to enjoy. It's been a joy to see it come to life.
Great video! I adore Mags he's a great character. Then again I am biased because I am a huge fan of Kirby since all the way back in the 90s! I hope HAL never stops making these games.

This was an amazing vid, Glitch! Hats off to you, Noole, and the others for all the effort you guys put into this oh my god. Loved all the little jokes sprinkled throughout the editing, and as a person who knows very little about Kirby lore, you broke it down in a way that was pretty easy to follow. I have always thought of Magolor as a cute little troublemaker, but now I see everything he's been through, and I am signing the adoption papers as I type this. My baby now.

Hello! Only stumbled onto this video recently due to the algorithm, and it was great!
Recently had a long and tedious discussion with an avid critique of kirby, so just hearing someone ramble about kirby and lore was a great pallete cleanser
The only aspect id really like to talk about (regarding the actual content of the video) is merry magoland. I always assumed that it was the first theme park magolor built for team kirby after coming back from the dream kingdom, and the possibility that magolor travelled back in time never even crossed my mind,
Magoland appearing in the background of 5-1 throws a wrench into my theory though, however, i kinda have a hunch that magoland appearing in 5-1 is actually an oversight, as the actual canonical reasoning and lore for magoland could've been written later, and they forgot to remove magoland from 5-1. Idk tho, because that feels like a shallow defense.
Other than that, i loved absolutely everything about this video, the clash games were always oddly nostalgic and special to me, so the fact they not only made it "canon", but made it an integral part of magolor's character arc just makes me happy.
Great video! Cant wait for part 2, and more videos! Making videos is hard, i have to commend you!

I do enjoy a good long form video or two. I can't guarantee that this will be the average length of our content but I expect a large range of time lengths depending on the topic or game discussed.

29:02 even though Magolor Soul being sucked into that portal was supposed to be the scrapped bad ending, I found that animation to make more sense than the canonical one.
Having Magolor (Soul) be sucked into that portal would’ve worked well to keep his fate uncertain, which would then be followed up in the Magolor Epilogue. Whereas the canonical defeat animation looks like he should’ve just died right there.
Also, I found it odd how Magolor Soul kept using portals no problem, yet one showed up out of nowhere to take him to some undisclosed location.
Do you think Magolor reverted back to normal after being sucked into that portal? I ask because he still bursts into flames with his wings shrinking, similar to Traitor Magolor form 2, and Magolor Soul in Extra mode. However, we don’t see what happens after he enters that portal for the true arena variant.
I personally think the Magolor we know is long gone from the True Arena fight. Whatever that thing is, it's not him anymore. He kinda got his soul assimilated by the Crown in the True Arena hypothetical, especially since he cries out Kirby's name one final time before disappearing to who knows where. Maybe we'll see this version again in the future at some point but only time will tell if it's ever touched on again.
@@gamenlore0491 as much as I hate to admit it, I think you’re right. We don’t see Magolor Soul shrink like he did in normal and extra modes, and his eyes don’t come back despite the crown’s red eye rolling in the back of its head (ew 🤮), similar to what happened with the previous versions.

Only weird thing that I've never heard about is Susie being in the Clash dimension? Like what? Can I have a source? I'm curious.
I believe the video does present the source visually but I cover it in slightly more detail in an earlier video (the Magolor Epilogue theory video). Kumazaki directly states in an interview that Susie took Magolor's Gem Apples, which is also why her favorite food is Gem Apple Sorbet, as seen in Star Allies with the Friend Potluck. Gem Apples have never been seen outside of the Clash series and Magolor's Epilogue, neither of which take place in the home dimension, so it's safe to assume that, conclusively, Susie did show up to the Clash dimension at some point prior to Star Allies to get those Gem Apples from Magolor.

One thing I’m really confused about is if team Kirby clash deluxe and super Kirby clash are both canon or if just one of them is canon. Super Kirby clash feels way more like an enhanced port of team Kirby Clash Deluxe then it does a sequel. And even if super curvy clash is a sequel, I’m still confused about some things. Like in team, Kirby clash deluxe King D Mind was made from the black mirror and then was killed but in super Kirby clash, he is summoned by nightmare and is still alive? So are both stories canon or is just one of them? This would be far less annoying if both games just had the same story, or if it was far more clear that Seabra Kirby clash was a sequel. If one of the games is canon and the other isn’t, I really hope it’s team Kirby Clash deluxe simply because that one has the much better story
Team Kirby clash deluxe is about Teranza trying to bring back Sectiona. He gets corrupted by this thing called the black mirror and he starts making monsters that start ramping around the kingdom and a group of Kirby’s Have to go and beat up all the monsters. Eventually the black mirror creates Dark Taranza. Dark Taranza uses the black mirror to make King D mind but the King D mind says “fuck you” and kills Dark Taranza. The Kirby’s kill King D mind and destroy the black mirror which makes Taranza come back to his senses but he is still depressed because Sectiona is still dead
Super Kirby clash is just about Nightmare who starts making monsters rage over the valley because….. he wants to….I guess? A group of Kirby’s have to go and stop the monsters. Eventually Nightmare summons Galactia Knight who isn’t having any of it and just kills him on the spot💀. The Kirby’s beat up Galactia Knight and the end. The gameplay is good between both versions and I guess that’s what really matters But I wish they had just kept the 3DS story for the switch story because the switch versions story is just kind of lame. The only thing it really has going for. Is that seeing nightmare again is kind of cool and some lore implications with Glactia Knight
I believe the Clash games are both canon to the Clash universe. Dark Taranza has an armor piece that describes it as "resembling a former owner," so Dark Taranza is very much gone. I don't think D-Mind is inherently "killed" at the end of Team Kirby Clash Deluxe because he just disappears into the mirror and then the mirror shatters. I imagine that Nightmare is simply pulling him from that dimension with his own dimensional abilities. It's tricky and the narrative presented in Super Kirby Clash is very much just "Saturday morning cartoon Nightmare" but there are some consistencies across these two titles, albeit small ones. The light novels also treat them as direct sequels to one another, but I would hope that we get a new, more-fleshed-out entry in the near future, since the director stated they were interested in seeing Aeon Hero Dark show up again and I can't imagine where else they would do it, lol

I’m really not a fan of Magolor’s “redemption”. He lied to us, tried to take over the entire universe and introduced micro transactions into the series and we’re just supposed to forgive him because he beat up a tree and he makes amusement parks now💀. I don’t see his epilogue as him atoning for his sins, I just see it as him fighting to get out of there and trying not to die. I’m still very salty that star allies decided to cut characters like Prince Fluff and Elline as dream friends but kept Dark Meta Knight, Marx and Magolor because they are the furthest thing from friends
That's fair, although the reason for those Dream Friends being cut was moreso due to the devs wanting to focus more on mainline representation over spinoff representation, which I think is fair, although I wouldn't have minded seeing Fluff and Elline playable too. I think that's a fair take on Magolor though, as some people don't think he's worthy of his "redemption" and that's totally valid. He's very much still a jerk, I wouldn't forgive him either, lol.
@@gamenlore0491 I get why those dream friends were cut and I understand wanting to focus on just the main line games (even if I see no reason why they couldn’t have included a little bit of spinoff stuff). The main problem is that dream friends like Marx and Dark Meta Knight just feel like bad fan service to me. Like understand why a character like Ribbon would be a dream friend since her and Kirby are actually friends so I have no problem with her being a dream friend. To me it just feels like they threw in a character from each mainline Kirby game, even if it didn’t make sense
To be fair with the tree thing, he at the very least, though obviously with ill intentions, freed Landia from the duty of having to guard the Master Crown for all eternity, and actually put an end to the Master Crown, who would have surely caused damage to hundreds of dimensions should it have been allowed to go free. It's power WAS capable of sending Another Dimension to actual collapse before being repaired after all, and that like, contains actual worlds and universes and stuff. While yes, the Master Crown running rampant was his fault, atleast one need not worry of it being somehow seperated from Landia (and Landia forever doomed to just fight fight fight to protect the crown, either for the universe or something else, and forever live in what is likely depressing isolation) and have a potential looming shadow over our heads for thousanda of years, as it's gone for good. Plus, you can technically count the fact that he might have helped in defeating Void Termina, who was likely gonna destroy every universe too.
But yeah he still (kinda) sucks but I personally think he's fine.
