Hi, I just ran into your video. So If I'm doing a children's picture book, that's 24 pages I can't do a hardcover? I say that because most of children's picture books are hardcover and only about 24-40 pages.
I've never printed just a single book before without publishing, but there are a ton of printing services out there that do it. Just Google "hardcover book printing" and you'll see a bunch of them come up. 🙂
Hi! Sorry I totally should have included that! So the template shows the safe area for the text. You just add a text box like you did for the other sections, and grab the little rotate handle to rotate it 90 degrees and drag it over to the spine. If it is still confusing let me know and I can make a "short" video to show you how!
@@HeatherCashArt Thank you so much for getting back to me about this. Yes please a short video would be great! I’m such a visual learner sometimes it’s the only way I can really grasp it. Just wanted to say you’ve been a great blessing for teaching this.❤️
You mean your trim size? You just have to choose which one you want for your book. You can go to a local bookstore or library and look at some children's books and see what size feels right for your book. Hope that helps! Although, let me know if I completely misunderstood your question 😉
Hi! No I didn't actually create my children's book as a hardcover - I just used my art to create this video, as an example to show the process. But FYI - IngramSpark does allow hardcovers with a normal amount of pages. I'm using them for my newest book and I'm going to test it and see how the hardcover is! When you publish with IngramSpark, they will put your book up on Amazon. So you can still have it available on Amazon you just won't be using KDP. Stay tuned for those videos!!!
Your videos are so helpful for beginners. Much appreciated
I'm so glad! Thank you for your kind words!
SO MUCH THANKS

Hi! On KDP you can't do a hardcover. You would need to use a different self-publishing platform, like IngramSpark.
That was also my concern, thanks for asking the question and also for answering and giving us an option as well.
Heather, Thank you.
i want to create a book that i can print hardcover only 1, for my baby, not for resale, can i do that? or where can i do that?

Hello,
How do you know what trim number to choose?

Thank you!
Can I do a hard cover if I only have 25 pages ?
Not on KDP. You'd need to use IngramSpark or another platform.
It would be great to see how to do that@@HeatherCashArt
