Always great to hear from the Narrator. And he's right, that verse from 'High powered' is arguably the hardest verse on the album. That's saying a lot.
That’s my boy right there old college roommate for a short time and we used to rap together at UNLV. We called ourselves the BMS 13 Brother Madness Staff we used to rap on KUNV radio with Warren Peace (Vegas DJ Hall of Fame). The crew was me X our producer was our homie David Fogg aka CREATE (Vegas DJ Hall of Fame) The day he was about to go back home to Cali we were outside smoking chopping it up and he said to me, I’m about to go back to Cali and me and my cousins are gonna be in the studio all summer you should come out there with me. I remember telling him I can’t go out there my mother sent me out here to go to school. Mind you at the time I did not know he and snoop were cousins. And snoop wasn’t that big yet, but that deep cover joint was just starting to get a buz. He signed a deal with a small independent label called bullet proof records. Create produced half the album and they did other half after the album was done they didn’t like finished product and they back out of the deal. We were on the conscious shit back then dealing with the math the 5% nation etc. The song Fighting the Devil on the RBX files album was originally titled 666 divided by 7 produced by create. We were roommates when he wrote that song and Sounds of Reality. Good dude crazy thing is I never saw him again after he went back to Cali. I finished school moved back East. And 2 years later he dropped the escape from death row and the RBX files. Wow time flies. RBX PEACE GOD!! Respect keep doing your thing G.
What’s even crazier and ironic is me & my boys signed with Bad Boy in 2000 right after the Diddy & Shyne incident in 2000. We did five songs produced & wrote on the Saga Continues album. Produced three Joints for Mary J on the Love & Life album. The Intro feat: Jay-Z, “Ooh” & “All of My Love” Produced Mary’s track on the Bad Boys 2 soundtrack. “Didn’t Mean”. Art Official Music/ Official Bang Entertainment was the name of our company. We produced tracks with Jim Jones “Harlem” , Loon “Story” The Band “My Life & Go Steady”. Isley Brothers “It’s Our Thing”. We had a Lil run for a minute. Lol memories. Definitely was rocking with X though!!
Til this day I still listen to stranded on death row. It's one of the hardest posse cuts of the 90's and there was a lot of posse cuts back then. Kurupt, RBX, Rage and Snoop killed it!
You said it, Dre Hardin. RBX is incredible. We're glad he came through for an interview. We look forward to catching up with him again soon. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccess.
Much respect to RBX. In my opinion he stood out in Death Row. To me it was as if he was a underdog that stood out more than the top dog on every track he was on. To be honest I was debating on checkin out Em's second album until I looked at the back cover and saw RBX featured on the track Remember Me. Him, Pac and Kurupt were my favorite Death Row artists. Pac was def a given I mean c'mon it's Pac overall with or without Death Row Records but Kurupt and RBX... Death Row was their stardom so for that like Pac's stardom with Digital Underground they were and are a blessing to the rap game
Just listened to tDtNTO again today...RBX came correct... the inflection in his voice and the way he articulated his words and molded them lines together is exquisite.
