Thanks for that run down. I just got the Ampeg Rocket 2/10, 500w combo amp. Very light for the power and great tone. Love it.

Needed a small bass amp for home practice (and my Laney combo would just blow the doors off), so picked up a Joyo MA-10B - I absolutely love it. Its 'tone window' is pretty narrow - but fortunately, it's spot on for the tone I needed. My buy of the year.
i was not expecting that sound to come out of the tiny amp loved the tune you played at the end.
Good video because it shows it really is practical for home or on the go practice to have mini bass amps. TC Electronics was an innovator in this regard, and they should be in the top three, over all the years.
Fender Stage 800 (Rumble) is incredible with 60 plus special effects built in. Extremely light weight

I like the sound of the Joyo, I was surprised when I heard it. I like the form factor of smaller bass amps, that's why I bought the Phil Jones Suitcase many years ago and still use it to this day.
I like the Boss; sounds really good. One not mentioned that came out this year, that look interesting: the EBS Magni 502

Carvin was already producing kickback bass combos over 15 years ago with their RedLine series.
I love the demos, very much appreciated. Sadly, I'm not in the same league as a player but great to hear the potentail in these amps.
I got one of those Joyo amps the minute they came out. Love it. I have a few of their guitar amp models too. Really fun.
I have that same Little Mark combo 500w 2x10" and wouldn't change it for the world. Not only that i love the sound, but the design - wow! It's the only truly powerful amp that I can actually lift with ease and carry around! Also, it has two handles, so two people can carry it. You can sit on it, or tilt it and use it as a monitor, put it sideways on smaller stages... Or take the amp out and take it with you without the cab, if there's a cab at the venue. Brilliant!

Darkglass seems to me the best choice these days. I guess is amazing for metal bassplayers, though is flexible enough for other genres.

I've most recently been using a HOTONE THUNDER BASS head (1.0 lbs) jacked into the the guitar input of my GK MB-500 head (3.75 lbs with Neutrik out jacks) which I run into my Hartke 112B cabinet and an older Ampeg PB112H Rare Earth Magnet cabinet (which has collapsing handle & rollers)
Works great for smaller venues & the GK has an XLR output to go to the sound system in larger venues. It also has a ground lift & a pre/post selector to accommodate the sound system requirements.
Provides plenty of volume and bottom end. Only trade-off is the GK has 500 watts out & my cabinets have 300 & 200 watts tolerance, so I never crank the GK more than about 60% +/- volume & gain to prevent speaker burnout.

I just got the Joyo Bantamp amp and I love it! Great little amp and the compression really makes it superior!
What cabinet are you connecting it to if I may ask?
@@raulgodero4116 I connected it to my HB 1x12 cab with a Celestion V30. The amp is 4ohm and the cab is 8 ohm, but still puts out pretty good power.

The original Phil Jones Suitcase is the best sounding bass amp I've ever had or heard. Hard to beat that amp.

I just got the newer version of the ampeg ba-112.
And the thing kicks ass.
The VOX VX50 BA is a pretty good amp for your living room. It's light yet has a good sound, with compression and distortion, although I don't find the distortion too useful though.
I think Markbass amps are superior, I have 3 of them. I agree that 500 watts is plenty for bass. I was surprised by the 2 tiny amps you demoed. Love the sound of your J Bass!
i'm happy with my Phil Jones - this video proofed my choice once again.
In my opinion it would have been more comparable by using the same flat settings and playing the same bassline.
I bought a Ashdown 300w light and good sounding, superhappy.
is the ashdown you mentioned the studio 15 by chance? I have thinking about getting one ! cheers from Canada !

I have recently bought this Joyo just for fun having BT backing track from my mobile... I am still suprised how great it sounds with my JB and just a touch of overdrive and compression. Two things suck. When you use Bluetooth you hear an annoying buzz and the second sucker is the external power source (but of course, you can't fit the power source into such a small frame).
Word of warning for anyone thinking of buying based on these demos. Julia will make any amp sound good.

Don't know the year this came out but it's the Year I got it, the Trace Elliot ELF. I use it with the ELF 10' cabinet. 10" is the smallest speaker I've ever used as I always used 18" live, (B4 DI of course). Easily compares its sound and clarity with my Trace Elliot AH600SMX. Easily. I keep looking up to see if the stack is on, it's that nice.

I have a Hartke ha7000 together with 2×4×10" cabinets. It's f^%©ing heavy ,but i will never change it for anything!💪🕶️😵💫

Omg!! The only thing I really need.
I know they are kind of boring now but the little Rumble 40 I picked up for practice weighs just a little more than the Phil Jones and cost me $500 less.
The Rumble 500 is just 16.5kg and can compete with some other rigs that weigh & cost twice as much.
Do you like any of the Fender Amps? They pack a lot of punch for the low weight and wondered if any of them interested you if you disliked them for some reason?
I was surprised there weren’t any Vacuum Tube Amps showing comparable quality of sound from traditional transistors 😊😊😊

The late 80's and early 90's were the era of the most durable amps ever made. The best sounding too. There is a reason many bassists still swear by their SVT-2's and 400+'s. Tone is stored in the weight of the amp!
I have a Mesa Boogie Tt800, what are your thoughts. I watched your video on EWF After the Love is gone. Was one of my favorites. Hadn't thought of it in a long time. Now i can't get it out of my head.

Does the Joyo produce any sound without a cabinet or connected to any interface? Like an Amo itself?

I recently went with a Warwick Gnome I Pro (280w) with a Warwick Gnome 2x10 (300w) cabinet.
All in, it costs less than the Boss Katana and has 120w more power.
Loud & light as a feather too 😁👍
How do you like it so far? I bought the Gnome I and their 2x8 cab.
I just play for fun but it sounds like it could hold its own despite size.
Happy w/ Fender Rumble 100 so far; low $, 22 lbs.
You should have included an Ampeg Rocket Bass amp. I've bought two, the RB108 and the RB112. Great amps!

I feel like you kinda slept on the newer fender combos. Maybe it's just because you are reviewing 2022 rigs.
The Markbass combo is the only one that seems useful IMHO.

this video could be called 5 diffrent bass amp concepts. why did you not compair the chors effect in the boss to the dark glass? what did GK make in 22 my GK plex pedle sounds like a GK through a powered speaker. what is the wattage of the Dark glass? your bass playing is solid. have you considered doing direct tonl comparisons? one amp one riff next amp same riff as the first and so on? well made but low information.

The strings on that bass seem a bit offset?

I want an amp with some bad ass gain / distortion built in. I play rock and metal and have zero intrest in a clean tone. Blasphemy, I know, but that's what I want. So, without breaking the bank, what would you suggest. You can suggest pedals too but really, I just want a bass amp with a brutal distorted tone.
