This is such an excellent review. You touched on so many comparisons that set it apart from it’s brand counterparts - especially the self cleaning aspect! Thank you for this. Very helpful.
I want you to know that I've had my Bissell SpotClean Pet Pro model since early last year. Up till now, as I just watched your video, it has always been a colossal pain in the butt to clean the dirty water tank. I was not aware of just how to open it up, but you've solved that problem for me. It will now take me much less time to clean this. Thanks so much for your video!
I just ordered this one as our Spotbot after two replacement hoses finally died today. What I started doing with these is not wrapping the hose back up. They crack from that bend. So the two tips I have for these is 1.) Don't wrap the hose in its holder , let it lay loose which isn't convenient but will prolong the hose 2.) Always empty the waste container and then suck up clean sink water once or twice to rinse the hose and tank. It will keep it fresher and not smelling as bad. Especially with pet waste. After watching the end it looks like this spotclean pro has a self rinsing feature which might eliminate the need to rinse with fresh water like I have done with previous models. Thanks for the review RBH.
I agree about the hose - on our previous machine we had the hose fail too. We always clean the wastewater tank - one reason we love this machine - you can get the wastewater tank really clean! The self cleaning tool is pretty cool! Thanks for watching!
Was searching for a video on how to use this product and came across this one and it's just perfect. You gave CLEAR communication on it, it was awesome and I enjoyed it. Was very informational more than info on the website of product itself thanks to you!! Pressed the like button on your video😁👍👍👍
Thank you so much for doing a follow up after one month. I'd love to see more of these types of reviews that cover a product after some practical and considerable use. The time is so important to discover best uses and possible pitfalls that a simple unboxing and trial, though helpful for learning how to use, just can't cover if it's a good investment for the long term. I was actually looking between all types of machines you touched on here so thankyou, all I needed to know, covered thoroughly and articulately.
Update, I asked Bissell Canada last night before I found your video and just got a response, kind of interesting so thought I'd pass it on, it's really just a verification of your sage advice. "I apologize that your machine came with upright carpet cleaning solution. I understand that can really be confusing. I appreciate you allowing me to assist. Your machine's motor has the same motor as our upright machine's so it normally comes with upright cleaning solution.".
We have purchased one of these today and then decided to look on TH-cam for tips on how to use it and came across your channel. We enjoyed your good clear demonstration and shall be subscribing straightaway. Thanks.
At 9:44 in your video I like that that attachment comes with it that you can soak up just water only and clean out the hose and let it air dry and then store it away.
You can tape some hot water pipe insulation over the hose stress point. Should help reduce kinking.. Have been thru a few of their little green machine models over the past couple of years, which work fine when new, however are useless as they age. Will try this one and see how long it holds up...Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for such a nice straight to the point review. I was sold on it once you said it works great for vomit. My kid threw up in the car so I'll be picking this one up!
Very good review 👏I also bought the machine and I must say, it's a very well thought out device. As for the hose, that could break with time, good you mentioned it, I think I will already put some tape on it now, to avoid damaging it in the future.
I find this better than the rug doctor works brillaint and got mine for 140 quid absolute bargain and a game changer also don't use red hot water when cleaning the machine you will perish any rubbers are seals much quicker
Perfect review for me thank you. I have the same model as your old one and it has suffers from the weakness your pointed out ( great for a few years). I didn't want to buy the same again because of how run down it became. I was considering the Bissell green machine, went to store, none in stock, only option Spot Clean Pro at twice the price. Came home and watched a few reviews, came to the conclusion it was worth the money. I then found your review, just so good, you nailed everything. Covered my historic and future spot cleaner adventure. Thank you for sharing.
A great review thank you very much, I have just ordered one of the same and it should arrive tomorrow, after your review I am very much looking forward to getting my machine. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this review! Finding unsponsored honest reviews has been difficult. I really appreciate this. BTW for anyone dealing with cat or dog urine - VINEGAR! This will completely break down the enzymes in the urine and keep the animal from being attracted to the same spot. You can even throw about 1/2 cup in your laundry machine to get urine out of any washables.
We use Nature's Miracle which is an enzymatic cleaner and that's been the best thing ever. Works on all things coming out of all things...kids and cats included. That being said, the provided soap for the machine also works well making smells go away.
Wow, I just purchased the same machine for my car and it works great but, unfortunately the hydro cleaning accessory is no longer available they're recommending to suction clean water from a bucket or bowl.
Already bought the unit and I'm using your video for an explanation on how to use it. Thanks! Though I dropped the bloody thing on my toe and nearly crushed my dog with it. Now I'm in agony, but fortunately the dog is OK.
I just bought one of these and it works brilliantly. We bought it in a deal that turns it into an upright with 2 large roller brushes so NOW we have the best of both worlds. Great review :)
I am actually considering this unit, it’s saved in an Amazon list. I have a Revolution Pet model 1986 upright. one of the Bissell pluses in their cleaners is the attachments fit through out the types, so it’s very convenient and cost effective. I just make myself a home care budget and buy attachments as the budget allows. Bissell seems to have frequent promotions as well. They have decent warranties as well. I keep a tote for vacuum attachments and a separate tote for cleaner attachments. Kind of a cleaner toolbox, if you will. Very good review! Attention to detail and clear explanation. Thank you!
great video review! I have a yorki/maltese that is almost 11 years old and has been potty trained but recently won't go on the potty pads. So I have been looking for a spot cleaner like this one to clean up his urine messes that he make while I am away at work. I loved your review that you did. I am going to go buy one today. 2 years ago I bought a Hoover smart wash carpet cleaner on Amazon and after using it about a dozen times it's been to long to return it to Amazon as the motor started to blow out black smoke. I took it to a few Hoover dealers here in Indianapolis, IN and they said to repair the motor would be more than the cost of the machine which was $199.00 when I bought it.
Unfortunately these units are so cheaply produced they are almost impossible to repair, but that goes for just about anything made today. Often when something is repaired, it’s just replaced with a different unit. We haven’t had any trouble with this one.
Great review! Touched on all the points i was concerned with about the unit. I think I may be proactive with some duct tape on the hose up by the brush based on your comments. I just bought it and I’ll let you know how accurate your review is. 😀
Very nice review just looking one today. And couple reviews on TH-cam. And find yours. And have to say is that best wideo. Most off don't say anything about pipe easy broken. And more concerned like a sell market wideo not review. Thank you for yours one. Take care.
Great review! I just ordered one based on your recommendation. I tossing the carpet cleaner we have currently because the tank is too hard to clean. I like the that the whole top comes off, and the tube cleaning device. Thanks again!
Thanks! It’s nice to see an adult who actually uses it, and tells us what we need to know, as opposed to “unboxing” and fumbling around that so many people do. I have the big one like yours, and the hose was pretty good one or two times, but it won’t stay attached to its clamp. Very annoying. Thinking about getting a little one for the car.
Not sure what’s up, ours stays firmly together, it might be defective or it needs to get attached just a bit harder. We have an old one I run outside for the cars as I’m not as picky.
used the smaller one for car detailing but oh that stress point....mine did break, recently, after a couple years on the smaller unit.....decided to get that bigger ProPet one this week (only 10 bucks more right now on Amazon sale...like 145 bucks which is pretty good). Worried about that Stress/bend point also. I will tape it in the beginning to help avoid the breakage hopefully. The Petpro has twice as much power/suction I guess, which is what I really wanted/liked better. Ya, have wondered about the soaps (upright vs portable branding??) oh, that Cap is cool for cleaning..wonder if mine came with it..didn't see it. Hey thanks for the vid.
Thank you very helpful, liked the advice re how to take top of container via pulling handle right back, it was/is not obviousl and I was wondering about it having just bought the latest machine [Dec2020]. Perhaps a bit more on the amounts ie water against shampoo against bissell boost, would be helpful. Also the attachment you had where you 'cleaned' hose afterwards does not come wiht very latest mondal. Nonetheless thanks for posting. Bernie in England.
Awesome video. I like the demo on your couch. At time 10:17, that white attachment you put on at the end of the hose to wash out the hose, does that white attachment come with all these units and similar units (Spot Clean Pet Pro and the Little Green Pet Pro) or is it something you bought separately and if you bought it separately, where did you get it? Thanks
Well done review. Thank you for sharing You show what you called a "hydroclean" hose cleaning attachment which you said was unique to this machine. Can you provide a link for me to buy one or suggest a place to look? Mine didn't include one and I can't find it listed for sale anywhere I've looked so far.
It was one of those “bonus” parts you get for buying at a particular retailer, in our case Canadian Tire. I have heard people finding them on Amazon but have not looked myself.
I have this machine and really like it. I just wish the plastic cover over the brush head was removable. Hair gets clogged in the outer edges and I have trouble getting it out. Any suggestions?
Im searching through comments myself to find the answer to this ! Its clogged on my first use I've had to use something thin to dig out what I can . You would think something so simple they could of added a small feature to take it off! .for an expensive peace of equipment anyway 🙄
I have a standup unit that came with a long flexible cleaner. I think Bissell still sells them on their website, but you'll have to look. Use a coat hanger if you need to be careful around punching hole tho in the hose, don't use it there.
Does it leave any soapy residue? I’m curious if it would be just as effective to pretreat an area with cleaning solution and then fill the tank with only clean water, so you’re rinsing away the cleaning solution.
Hey there, Thank you so much for your video. It was a very helpful great review. I just have a question about that Hydro tool that you mentioned. I just bought the same carpet cleaner and I don’t see that tool attached to the side like yours was. Am I missing something? Thank you so much
I noticed you sprayed the soapy water over the cushion without touching the cushion and then went back and held the trigger to sprayed more soapy water while pressing down with the brush attachment which was sucking up the dirty water at the same time and you called it a day. Shouldn't you have gone over the cushion again a few times without soapy water while pressing down with the brush attachment to vacuum out as much dirty water as possible? Vacuuming without adding more water would seem to get out more dirt and speed up the drying process.
Hi Ben, thank you so much for your great review. Can I know if you use hot water for this machine or cold water and how do you dry the sofa cushion or car seats? Thanks!
Saw a top 10 video that led me here. Good review and use examples. Any idea what a good price on these are around Black Friday? I see them listed for $175 most places.
Great review on the machine and on another note you mentioned you have a fre animals that you are always cleaning up after i was a professional carpet cleaner for 20 years and if you would like i can send you some names for professional products that you can use on carpet and furniture for anything biological, urin blood vomit ect also products that you can use for urin oders as well im not looking gor anything just looking to help you out if you would like
I use this cleaner for light colored carpet in my apt. for cat spit spots. Carpet looks like new every time. I have not used it for the furniture yet. I wish you would have covered how to open and drain it. I can't remember how to do that and not sure where I put the instructions.
Hi thanks for your review which helped us to use the cleaner confidentially. We cleaned our carpet because of a dog wee accident. Would you go over it with plain water after cleaning it with the solution? Thx 😊
Used mine today for the first time on an area rug. I have an older upright but puts out too much water and I'm cleaning on hardwood floors. I have to add 2 oz. of cleaning product to the hot water - I only used 1 oz. So, in cleaning it puts soap and water in but where is the rinse to get the soap out. I did struggle with trying to get the top off of the dirty water container - thank you for that bit of information. I am going back over with clear water. Any suggestions? Am I missing something? Thanks!
You don’t need to rinse the cleaning solution off the carpet, a small about is designed to stay behind. Once dry, run a vacuum over the carpet to remove any remaining fuzz.
Where did you get that little hydroclean attachment? I just bought this and it did not come with or mention that. It seems like an awesome attachment to have to clean you hose.
Follow up question if you don't mind. The cleaning solution that comes with this is for upright carpet cleaners. The cleaning solution that it is matched with the Bissell site as being "replenishment items" is for upright carpet cleaners, the cleaning solution recommended in the Spot Clean Pro (both models 3624C &2891B) manual also lists cleaning solutions for upright carpet cleaners as appropriate for this model. The manual also says that the warranty is voided if upright solution is used in a portable carpet cleaner. Set up to void your warranty from the moment you open the box or am I overthinking this. Any guidance would be appreciated.
You are probably over thinking it. While they as an industry have decided to separate upright and portable shampoos, we have found zero differences in real life and use the same cleaner in both. My guess is that upright soap is harsher then portable soap, but for warranty purposes there would be no way to tell what kind of soap you used.
Thank you for this informative review. Can I ask two questions, 1. Is it filled with hot water or cold that gets heated. 2. Would this be safe on 80% wool carpets. Thank you
Useful review, I've been shopping a spot cleaner for my dirty Acura :P. Unfortunately, the spotclean pro (black) isn't on rebate anymore and the pet version is my only option remaining! (149 cad at the store)
Hello, I hope you still reply to my inquiry. Have had to exchange my machine because after 10 minutes there was no more water spraying. In the clean water container, I find that the small inner tube when the water is below that then there is no more feed. How do you fix that issue. Thank you. I am an owner of 3 kitties, and they did not like the new litter box. Enough said.
I just bought the Bissell SpotClean Pro. Today is my first time using it and I noticed every time I take off the attachments from the hose, a little bit of water/ solution splashes out. Does it do this for you?
Does it have good suction as got through 6 dry suck Hoover's which all broke cause the suction went after 1 month or spit back or the stuff came out the filter holes?? Does this bisell suck the carpet dry from water so it's just damp but not soaked??.....
i have just purchase it and I am glad I saw your review. Just one question were can I find (in the internet, I do not live in England) the white stopper you use when you wast the machine. Thank you
@@rotarur I’m curious to see if it comes in the box. Mine will show up in a few days. If it doesn’t have one in the box I will likely not bother buying one as I always take mine to a bathroom to empty the waste tank and then I simply fresh water rinse it by pulling the sink stop and filling sink with a bit of water to suck up.
@@rotarur weird , maybe depending on what country we are in determines what comes with the bundle as RBH is in Canada I think and he mentioned in another post that it came with his. I’m in the US. I’ll post back when my arrives.
Hi. Is this cleaner better performing even on big floor carpets but it is not practical because it is small or it is also not performing as well as the big cleaner you had standing on the right side?
It’s just smaller. Our full floor carpet model does great, but is harder for smaller spots and is more of a hassle to setup for small spills. This unit is great for quick pickups and if you are just doing furniture or cars.
I Just purchased one of these myself. Where on the machine is the hydro-clean feature? Is this something that comes with the unit? Very nice review too, thank you. :))
I just received a model from HSN and it is included in that one. It's called Little Green Pro Heat Pet Portable Deep Cleaner. It was on sale for $119.99 and was free shipping. Ordered it on 9-17-2023. It also came with a stain cleaner brush with built in bowl for such wastes for pee where it does not go into the actual hose to keep it not smelling. Quite ingenious I thought. That was an added plus!!
Hi I brought a Bissel Spot Clean Pet Pro after watching your video, I need help as I can’t find the attachment for when you are cleaning the hose, I rang Bissel they don’t know about this attachment. Can you PLEASE CONFIRM where you got this ATTACHMENT FROM?
We're using ours for small spots and literally feel like we're wasting cleaning solution, because we barely use any. Do you ever save your solution in the tank for next time or just fill it half way for smaller jobs?
What is that self cleaning snap on piece you showed? I just purchased this machine and it didn't come with anything of the sort, so how is this a feature of the product?
@@RedBarnHomestead Thanks for the follow-up! Since you originally posted the video almost 2 years ago, have you had any further issues with the hose-handle attachment?
This is such an excellent review. You touched on so many comparisons that set it apart from it’s brand counterparts - especially the self cleaning aspect! Thank you for this. Very helpful.
I swear, I didn't even know my machine had that hydro-clean feature to clean out the hose until watching this video! Lifesaver!! Thank you!! ❤️
Glad you found it. It’s a fairly desired option by listening to the comments.

Im searching through comments myself to find the answer to this ! Its clogged on my first use I've had to use something thin to dig out what I can . You would think something so simple they could of added a small feature to take it off! .for an expensive peace of equipment anyway 🙄
Same problem here...it's the question I been asking please help thank you !
No, the OEM soap is designed to be left behind. The cat and odor remover will continue to help things smell nice. Fabrics and such feel just fine.
Hey there, Thank you so much for your video. It was a very helpful great review. I just have a question about that Hydro tool that you mentioned. I just bought the same carpet cleaner and I don’t see that tool attached to the side like yours was. Am I missing something? Thank you so much
It seems they don’t all come with that - it’s called a Hydro-rinse tool and you can buy it separately
Just showing how to work the machine in this video - not the best way to clean your couch.
Great review. can you share a link on the Bissell SCPP that was used int he video
I love the new hoover cleanslate as it has the widepath 7 inch widepath tool, but the bissell has the larger tanks
Hi Ben, thank you so much for your great review. Can I know if you use hot water for this machine or cold water and how do you dry the sofa cushion or car seats? Thanks!
We used hot water - and we let them stand to dry.
Saw a top 10 video that led me here. Good review and use examples. Any idea what a good price on these are around Black Friday? I see them listed for $175 most places.
Great review on the machine and on another note you mentioned you have a fre animals that you are always cleaning up after i was a professional carpet cleaner for 20 years and if you would like i can send you some names for professional products that you can use on carpet and furniture for anything biological, urin blood vomit ect also products that you can use for urin oders as well im not looking gor anything just looking to help you out if you would like
Heck ya!! Share it for all of us! 😄
I use this cleaner for light colored carpet in my apt. for cat spit spots. Carpet looks like new every time. I have not used it for the furniture yet. I wish you would have covered how to open and drain it. I can't remember how to do that and not sure where I put the instructions.
The purple handle turns back 180 degrees over the top, freeing the top lid so you can dump it out.
Hi thanks for your review which helped us to use the cleaner confidentially. We cleaned our carpet because of a dog wee accident. Would you go over it with plain water after cleaning it with the solution? Thx 😊
Also it mentions to use 2 oz of solution x2 so we used 4oz of pet solution is this correct?
I would not go over with plain water - the solution continues to break down the wee while it dries. As for amounts, that sounds about right!
Great review I live on a boat and want to do the carpets , I’m having trouble deciding between these two as the area needed cleaning is very small
I have heard they are sometimes available on Amazon.
I just got mine yesterday and holy crap! This thing works pretty good! I didn't know my chairs were soo dirty lol
It always scares me how much dirt is in things, especially when I don't expect it.
Very informative review, thank you!!
@@RedBarnHomestead Thank you so much for taking the time, very appreciated.
Thank you for the review. On the hunt for a new spot cleaner. Question: what kind of tape did you use for the older machine hose? Thanks!
Duct tape.
How long did your sofa take to dry? And do you ever end up with water patches? Thank you 😊
A couple hours, no it’s really good at sucking up all of the water.
Thank you for this informative review. Can I ask two questions, 1. Is it filled with hot water or cold that gets heated. 2. Would this be safe on 80% wool carpets. Thank you
Filled with hot water, it does not heat the water. As for safe on wool carpets, I am not really sure.
Thank you
We fill it with hot water but then often leave the solution in the tank for quick cleanups days later and it does fine.
Useful review, I've been shopping a spot cleaner for my dirty Acura :P. Unfortunately, the spotclean pro (black) isn't on rebate anymore and the pet version is my only option remaining! (149 cad at the store)
We find that pet versions are good if not better then regular versions, only because pet hair is so hard to clean it takes a bit extra.
Best review ever. Off to buy this now 😂
Great review! From a guy who won’t pull the trigger on buying it. I DID
Cool!
1000th like on the video - thanks for helping me on my decision to get one! Cheers. 👍
Not 100 sure, did your new machine also have the issue?
Great video, thanks for the review!
You are welcome.
Very helpful review, thanks!
We still love our machine, it works great.
Thank you for sharing your video. How long do you expect the hose to last?
Pretty fair, no issues yet.
I just bought the Bissell SpotClean Pro. Today is my first time using it and I noticed every time I take off the attachments from the hose, a little bit of water/ solution splashes out. Does it do this for you?
I’m guessing that’s residual spray pressure? You can use the sucker to clean it up.
Good review. Thank you.
Dumb question but when you squeeze the trigger to suck it up is water spraying at the same time?
It sucks without squeezing the trigger - the trigger is only for spray.
Does it have good suction as got through 6 dry suck Hoover's which all broke cause the suction went after 1 month or spit back or the stuff came out the filter holes?? Does this bisell suck the carpet dry from water so it's just damp but not soaked??.....
Yes, it removes most of the water, a spot can be dry in about 1/2 hour after a thorough cleaning.
i have just purchase it and I am glad I saw your review. Just one question were can I find (in the internet, I do not live in England) the white stopper you use when you wast the machine. Thank you
You can buy it on amazon ‘hydrorinse self cleaning tool’
@@RedBarnHomestead Thank you
@@rotarur I’m curious to see if it comes in the box. Mine will show up in a few days. If it doesn’t have one in the box I will likely not bother buying one as I always take mine to a bathroom to empty the waste tank and then I simply fresh water rinse it by pulling the sink stop and filling sink with a bit of water to suck up.
@@45eno it does not come with the box I got mine last week and it wasn't in the box
@@rotarur weird , maybe depending on what country we are in determines what comes with the bundle as RBH is in Canada I think and he mentioned in another post that it came with his. I’m in the US. I’ll post back when my arrives.
Great review would you recommend for beginners in the car valeting industry in your opinion? Kind Regards
I think it would do fine for that!
Awesome review I'm planning on getting one of these for my car from your experience with it would it be a good choice?
Yes! It would be excellent for car upholstery!
Stunning Stunning Stunningly useful.Thank you. David. ps: where did you get that little white clip for the hose, to help flush it out?
It came with our machine - a comment on here a while ago said it was available on amazon - Hydro-rinse
Excellent review, thank you
Very good video and it helps me make my decision.
We love ours.
I want one of these so bad to start a car detailing buss but can't afford one right now😩
Can you use Las totally awesome all purpose cleaner with it?
You probably could, but we only use the recommended fluid.
What is the little bracket you put on the hose to clean the hose out? Where can I get it?
Not sure where to get it, it came with ours.
I Just purchased one of these myself. Where on the machine is the hydro-clean feature? Is this something that comes with the unit? Very nice review too, thank you. :))
It did come with this particular unit but is uncommon. Issue is there is no place to store it so it is easy to misplace.
@@RedBarnHomestead I see, thank you!
That's wonderful. It's great you found it on sale too! Enjoy!@@lindahill1199
It came with the machine - packaged inside the box. It is called a hydro-rinse attachment.
We're using ours for small spots and literally feel like we're wasting cleaning solution, because we barely use any. Do you ever save your solution in the tank for next time or just fill it half way for smaller jobs?
All the time! We just mix up a big jug and keep using it until it’s gone. We only clean out the waste tank every time
Wow thank you for the test and review!!!
You bet, ours is still running great.
Hi I just received my spot clean pet pro today and I can't see the self cleaning tool with it 🙃 😭
They don’t all come with it. You can search Hydro rinse tool online and get it separately.
Where did you get that part that clips on to clean the hose?
On our machine it came with the package when we bought it. It is called a Hydro-rinse tool and I believe you can buy it separately
Thanks for this video! Rlly helpfull!
This also comes with a second attachment right? Where did you get the cleaning attachment?
It came with the machine. Hit or miss finding it sold separately.
I just bought one and am surprised at the suction. I have not actually used it yet but the suction seems weak?
Hmm - the suction on ours is very good - much better than our old one
I wonder why they don’t offer a handheld brush that has moving brushes?
Guessing it’s a cost/benefit issue.
What is that self cleaning snap on piece you showed? I just purchased this machine and it didn't come with anything of the sort, so how is this a feature of the product?
It did come with when we purchased. You can buy this piece separately from Bissell Canada. It’s called the Hydro-rinse tool
@@RedBarnHomestead Thanks for the follow-up! Since you originally posted the video almost 2 years ago, have you had any further issues with the hose-handle attachment?
Does it come with that attachment to clean the tube out afterword or did you buy that separate
It came with the hydro-rinse attachment.
