    Looking at Kunlavut's improvement from the last worldchampionship 22' until he finally got his worldchampion title is insane. One of the most skilful player, patient and intelligent. Like the way he celebrates his winning, he always respects his opponents, that's what makes him today. Great job and congratulations to Kunlavut Vitidsarn, THE MEN SINGLE WORLD CHAMPION 2023.

    The fans were so impatient! They booed at their long rallies because they wanted next game (MD with Astrup/Rasmussen) to begin. What, you think these players were intentionally delaying *your* game? Christ, have some courtesy and respect for the players! Glad Seo/Kang silenced the crowd after.

    • @gone117-r8g

      There was so much obvious stalling

    • @hignfy
      @hignfy ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@gone117-r8g Yeah I think It was Naraoka getting one for delaying on serve. He was desparate to control the pace of the game. The card was warranted. But fans getting annoyed during plays? I found that a bit unsavory. Both players just happen to play a cautious style game. It's like a chopper against another chopper in table tennis. It's not bam bam smash. But it's obviously working for Vitidsarn and Naraoka since they've made the finals.

  • @thomaskohler7556
    @thomaskohler7556 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    The Danish audience showed absolute unsportsmanlike behavior throughout the entire tournament, it was really uncomfortable at times. Cheering for your country is fine but booing the opposing team or even booing when the rallies don't match your expectation of what an "exciting" rally should look like (which was the case in this MS) is just unbelievably rude. The game itself was extremely fun to watch, though.

      I rate LCW skills higher than LD and CL etc.. though he was always 2nd to them. Two reasons we cant ignore:-
      1. Chinese players had good bench strength. Players like LD would rest for few months and come back fresh and win compared to tired LCW playing every single tournament.
      2. Chinese players had access to better coaching, strategy, tech analysis, govt support and facilities. I doubt LCW had all that in MY.

Since the second half of the 2nd game after making some mistakes, Naraoka has mostly played in a kind of quitting since then to the end. Unfortunately, they couldn't break down these finalists defense. That's why we have two best defensive players in the final. Kunlavut's strategy works so well with those offensive players if you watch all his matches this tournament.

    Congrats to both young men on making the finals. They really are setting the standard for the new generation.
    On another note, I honestly think Kodia could’ve won if he just attack a little more in the 2nd game. It’s unfortunate he lost this time but I am so happy Vitidsarn is the winner.
    One more note, I usually love Gillian’s commentary but this time around was not it. She was super biased towards Vitidsarn and wasn’t giving much credit to Naroaka at all. But Steen, he kept it neutral and that’s how it should be.

    The match of endurance 😅. It is ridiculous knowing that this match is a final match of WC. The best match in this WC is the match of Prannoy vs. Axelsen. Btw, congrats for Kunlavurt.
