    Great Idea Frank, Just finished mine, I have a 2020 which has a fuel pump, so I did run the T splitter after the fuel petcock and before the fuel pump, works great, glad I wont be filling up on the water and I will now use the original tank for an emergency aux tank .

    Thanks for the video. I've been yearning for this kind of solution. I get between a half hour to an hour on the internal tank, and it's been a problem refilling the tank in the wind and the waves. This may be the answer I've been looking for.

    I assume the other line going to the T is coming from the original tank (on top of motor)? Sure that’s right but just confirming because I am definitely adding this external tank to my motor. Awesome video by the way! Oh almost forgot. Did you have to purchase any extra fuel hose?

    Tried this conversion but cannot get it to work, when I am pumping for fuel I can hear air coming out of the airfilter on the carb. Simply put the system is not getting pressurized. Will a one way check valve positioned right before the carb solve this issue ?

    thanks for the demo. one question. what is the relative "vertical" location of the external tank to the carburetor? does the external tank need to be higher (same height as the top tank), since gas flows down to the carburetor by gravity?

    • @captainsteve5475
      @captainsteve5475 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s was going to be my question too. Without a fuel pump, it’s basically a gravity fed set up. How will It draw the fuel from 6 ft of hose up hill? I want to try it but afraid to start drilling holes and buying expensive parts.

    • @westtexasconstruction
      @westtexasconstruction 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When you pressure up the fuel with the primer bulb it won't break suction unless its disconnected or if it has a loose connection. The external tank draws the fuel from the bottom of the tank.

    • @abrahamkou5909
      @abrahamkou5909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@westtexasconstruction my trial home by Ted Williams motor is that the external tank's vertical position cannot be two low from the carburetor' maybe 1 ft at most. Otherwise, the motor's suction force cannot move the fuel up from the external tank and the.motpr quits. if I place the external tank above the motor, then no problem.
