Life has a sense of humor, as a kid i used to listen to this song and now here i am in my 30s, watching an anime based on a guy with malicious fingers.
3:54 - I love this part, and this fantastic melody actually appears in the original, but is unfortunately drowned out by another channel and is hard to make out - probably the only flaw in the original tune - so glad SnappleMan paid homage to it.
0:22 i literally cannot get over how epic this sounds. Like I can imagine an amp actually vibrating the whole room with just one note, and the guitar being LOUD. Totally awesome imo, I'm baffled
Almost 14 years later, and this album still reigns supreme among all Sonic 3&K remixes. Even now, I still wonder if there was anything worthwhile that was achieved in this decade compared to all the decades before it, or if it was worth all that was lost in the process... for even now, as we move onto the next decade, I still struggle to come up with an answer for these.
You don't play Sonic games for the gameplay. You play Sonic games for the butt rockin' soundtracks, as they are frequently the only good thing about the game. Shadow the Hedgehog? Virtually unplayable, full of great songs. Sonic 06? Sent to market unfinished but with one of the most beautiful OSTs out there. Black Knight and Secret Rings are names 99% of people don't remember, but Seven Rings in Hand and Knight of the Wind still blow it out of the water every time. If the gameplay could even come close to the quality of their soundtracks, Sonic as a series would be a household name instead of the joke that it is.
Soundtracks. The only good thing about the series that is A joke instead of being a household?! Seriously?! How Come The Only Good Thing About The Games Are The Soundtracks?! Why! The Gameplay Is Outdated in colors ultimate. Colors is perfect. And why are you "no !" Becoming increasingly concerned at thinking the sonic series was a joke?! Why! The soundtracks? Only good things?! About the worst?! Why are you people kept doing this! Gameplay is awesome and you blew it!!😡
This is by far the best remix I have ever heard of any video game final boss soundtrack ever. Something about the original version just screamed out for being redone as an intense hard rock/heavy metal anthem, and Eggman certainly deserved having the best hard-rock remix for his best final boss theme.
this is SUCH A MASTERPIECE. I can't think of a better remake of a boss song than this one. It's intense to its very core, from start to finish. Thank you so much SnappleMan, there isn't a single time I listen to this song and get unimpressed.
No matter how many times I hear this remixed or covered by another artist, non of them have managed to really grip my ears like 1:35 - 1:55. Easily my favorite part. If only I could add it to my Spotify playlist 😓
I downloaded this to my itunes and heard it just now for the first time in ages. Just had to come on line to share my appreciation. Snappleman, if you read this, you are a legend. Thank you for giving this gift to the world.
SSG_Ronnie42 Robotnik was never a threat. He tried to fend Sonic off with colorful robots that looked like cute animals. He was meant to be a clownish, hammy villain from the start; it was Sega of America that thought he should be serious.
alejandrothefader Let's not forget that he stole an infinite power source that could control other infinite power sources, then used it to build a space station the size of a small planet to use as a base if operations and a number of monstrous robots, one of which could fight on level with a being using infinite power sources. Dude had nothing less than galactic domination on his mind, and was clearly willing to eradicate entire planets to achieve that.
SSG_Ronnie42 We haven’t had that since 2009. The latest game seems to try and revive that, but will it last through the next few games (if they even happen). Edit: Well, going for that angle didn’t save the game from being cheap and flimsy. I kinda stopped caring when that happened.
I still think this remix is the definitive version of the song. I love the Cash Cash remix, but it just has some things missing from it that this one has.
this is the BEST cover of this theme to date. Got the song on itunes a while ago and i was blown the F away. Just takes me back to the first time i got to Big Arms. That music hits and you feel your impending doom as the sky grows dark and out he comes... talk about tense, that fight had my palms sweating (in the process made my hands slip on that smooth plastic mega drive controller.)
Really makes me wish that there would be a second Project Chaos... but that probably would be just greed of me. Every music just *SLAPS* and I can't thank the composers enough.
I can imagine a super fight with THIS song even more than the Doomsday remix... That's friggin' fantastic. The dudes behind Project Chaos were ahead of their time.
RedKazan An animator of a rather popular sprite animation called Super Mario Bros. Z. I'd recommend looking it up. It's a little cheesy, but the fight choreography is to die for, and has just recently been rebooted.
The series is having a re-boot right now, the animation is 3x better than before... 3x better than *before* , it already still beats anything we have now. Now the animation is just... Insane
*wipes a tear from my eye* There's hope, yet! We're not all doomed! The future generation still has a chance at survival! Now... if only I had time to create a cure for that toxin I created, which only kills people under the age of 16... Probably should have planned ahead...
this song was a great way to end off my night with a bang =D project chaos is an amazing arrangement album with many great sonic and knuckles remixes. this one being my personal favorite. =D
This is how the 2D game should be, fast, extreme catchy music. Alot of people are like..no guitars or something, but really, Snappleman shows that you can pull it off perfectly.
this song... its incredible. the perfection of the guitar, the precision of the keyboard, and the felling of the game is embedded into every riff. it.. it just goes beyond words, even. simply incredible
Oh, I remember that game from a LONG time ago. When the song was reaching the end and then got remixed, that's where the nostalgia first kicked in. I think the final level was a space level :p
15 years later, it's still one of the best rock remixes for Sonic‼️🔥👏🏾👊🏾❤️🫡💯
To think this album is almost closer to Sonic 3's release then it is today, well it makes me feel old.
You weren't right then.
But you are now. Fuck. I'm old.
This just made me turn into oil.
Jesus fuck right in the feels

Yep

boy it was in the gane
Now with Sonic 3 AIR we can do just that...oh boy!
