I just got an M9A3. I prefer the FS model with the safety/decocker. I hear the trigger on the A4 is amazing I can’t imagine how much better it can be than the A3 because that trigger feels so good compared to the regular M9.
Actually, both the M9A3 and M9A4 have the so called “D” spring. The most palpable difference is the double action pull. The original M9 classic, which I also have, the double action is over 12 lbs initially. Now that it’s broken in, it’s around 10 lbs or so, closer to 11. Single action pull is close to 5 lbs initially, down to 4 now. I recently bought a M9A3 three weeks ago. Double action on the A3 is 10 lbs right now, think it will drop to 9lbs after it gets broken in. 4lbs single action. Will be lower after breaking in. This makes the A3 so much easier and smoother to shoot, this plus the raised night sights also means I’m more accurate too….Now, I just need to save up for my can to really have some fun! (Have eyes set on a Rugged Obsidian .45 cal can for my FN FNX-45, with an adaptor for the A3).
I know. I was interested in ordering one of these until he said there was no safety on the decocker. That was one of the reasons I got my PX4. I would not like to holster the M9A4 in the dark and have it go off on me.
I seen this video probably 10 times and I can’t get enough of this beautiful pistol, and one day I know I will get one ,thank you for the great job on the review
The black piece just above the trigger on the right side of the pistol is the Trigger bar. In the original M9 there was a spring that slots into the frame of the pistol and the bottom of the trigger bar to hold the trigger bar to make the trigger bar engage the firing mechanism. I'm assuming the design hasn't changed. A lot of soldiers made the mistake of taking a toothbrush up inside of the mag well to clean out any dust or sand and would wind up disengaging the spring and losing it. If the spring is lost, the weapon WILL NOT FIRE as the trigger bar will drop down and not engage the firing mechanism that works the hammer. If you own this firearm, be very careful when you clean the mag well that you don't knock the trigger bar spring loose. You might want to see if you can obtain extras, just in case. To replace the spring, take off the hand grips, locate the hole in the frame and seat the short leg of the V shaped spring into the frame, then work the spring up into the groove in the bottom of the Trigger bar. Easy to lose, and just as easy to fix.

@@Gruntreviews If you say so =/. I'm no gun expert by any means. I'm just sayin', to me at least, picking a gun up by it's side in a flat case seems a lot safer and far more practical then using an awkward pinching/lifting motion to squeeze it out from the top. While you probably shouldn't have a gun loaded when stored away, sometimes people do; also it's an extra obstacle if one has to grab their gun in a hurry, with a higher chance of dropping it and those leave extra, unwanted threat levels. I appreciate the idea of getting a complimentary ammo box and one could always buy a separate handgun case but by that logic; one should rather buy a handgun which came in a simple handgun case and buy a ammo box separately. If you guys like it. That's cool. To me, the case is a big pass. Gun looks sweet, though! ^-^

You're always going to get some wear in the grip from mags going in and out.
@@Gruntreviews thanks for clearing it up. Wasn't sure whether it was normal or not.
Is that not a safety lever on teh left side with a red dot in the cut out for the lever?
@@Elfin4 decocker only
I thought they stopped including manuals and where having you print them off website?
They may have. This was filmed a while ago.
Attractive pistol, have a closer look and it's lipstick on a .... First the A4 trigger is dismal- try a M9a1 w an upgraded D spring or Taurus PT92- and I have competition among the variants and they out shoot the A4. Next the optics plate uses tension screws on a sheer application- why? To have the optics get loose . No safety, heavy trigger and questionable engineering wrapped up in a great can.
Optics system could definitely be improved, but it appears they worked with what they had available. Trigger isn't terrible, but I agree it could be improved.
Question does it only come in this color or can I get it in black? Sorry might be a dumb question but I’m new to this and looking for a starter pistol. Always love the design and heard it’s a good beginner pistol/conceal carry. 🙂
The m9a4 is only FDE to my knowledge. They have other options in black.
@@Gruntreviews ohhhh okay I get you thank you!!

I don’t know if I want this or xdm elite as my next purchase
I'd go m9a4 way before an XDM. That being said, I'm not a fan of the XD series.
make sure to take out product before using target. What does it mean???
Sadly, for every dumb warning, there's a dumbass to go with it.

When did Doug DeMuro start doing gun reviews?
@@DevinJamesK if only I had his following
Wow, that's a great gun. this is American-made. right.
If i recall correctly these are all US. There might be some Italian imports, but i can't confirm.
My cz75 is way more accurate than me beretta 92. Probably because cz fits my hand much better but can't deny that beretta feels much more premium andi have the cheap one
CZ makes a solid pistol for sure.
Something about the tan makes a Beretta 9mm look like a toy. Certain guns just look bad in tan/brown/mud.
@@vaporjoes FDE is definitely a love it or hate it color
That is gorgeous! I need to get one
The Italians do have a knack for producing things that are visually appealing.
@@Gruntreviews I actually just got back home from picking mine up! Yessirrrr!
Very nice. Let us know how it runs for ya.
Does this need a nielsen device ie pistol booster for suppressor use? I dont think its a tilt barrel browning design so it shouldnt right?
I've got a range review up on it where I ran a few suppressors. Generally you don't need one, but it will depend on the can and the load
@@Gruntreviews lol, I did go ahead and check it out right after posting the comment. Thanks for the info. I guess it's hit or miss but can work unlike any browning action firearm without a Nielsen device
@@bendabutcha if the can is lightweight, you're probably OK. If it's heavy, it becomes more iffy. The advantage of the beretta action is that it makes a fantastic suppressor host.
That was cool box. And which is waterproof. Wooow
It definitely beats cheap cardboard
I’m surprised that with a threaded barrel it didn’t come with suppressor height sights.
Indeed. It's a head scratcher.
This gun does have a safety. Does it not??
@@josephtorres3253 decocker, not a manual safety
Thanks for the review.
My pleasure
Hefty price tag 😵💫 but it’s such a good looking handgun
It definitely has that iconic look
I'll buy one when it comes in black!
They sorta do. The 92x RDO.
does this gun only suck in the military?
The military ones are usually beat to shit.
How do you buy them and get them like this? Like where do you go?
Available at any licensed dealer, this is all factory.
That is the USA factory version , not the Italian version. I have a BERETTA 92A1 "Italian version" I have deleted the "DECOCKER" on my A1 it is a safety switch only now.
@@Franklin-w3c indeed. A few different safety options on the 92 series with a decent amount of interchangability.
@@Gruntreviews I hated the DECOCKER on my 92A1, so now I treat it like a "COLT 1911" COCKED & LOCKED.....
@@Gruntreviews Well not locked but you know what I mean...
@@Franklin-w3c I agree with ya there, the auto decock when safing the weapon was a bit annoying
@@Franklin-w3c yup
I have an FDE CX4 Storm.
I need this to pair with it.
Would definitely be a fun combo. Just gotta grab a couple FDE cans to go with em.
Which is best beretta m9a4 or colt 1911 45cal?
Depends on the shooter. 2 totally different platforms and two different calibers. Pros and cons to both.
A hard case that can be used!😯
It's definitely a rarity nowadays.
Nice weapon sir ,price ..?
MSRP is around $1000

@@Gruntreviews I thought it was funny! Because you're right, It's all over the place.
@@0x80O0oOverfl0w it does match the SCAR well
Why on earth would they package it that way? To make us buy a separate case? it's not safe, picking it up and storing it that way. It certainly doesn't make it easier to store.
It's a look. It's not much different than most other pistol cases in terms of safety.
Cool setup.

Love look of pistol ,but got to say Pass on color. slide and frame looks horrid. Not a fan.
FDE is definitely a love or hate type color
we have to put that disclaimer because marines will color the bullseye with their crayons and then shoot it
That or get it pregnant.
Nice but I prefer black, bummer about the mags Be careful.

What's the difference from the A3??
Optics cut and larger mag capacity. Few smaller tweaks.
@@Gruntreviews ok would you trade the A3 IN for the A4??
Unless you're dead set on running an optic, I wouldn't trade in. If I had an A3, I'd probably send it out to LTT to get milled for a rds.
