I think the paper sizes make a difference where you place your holes, so you catch all the papers, hopefully....

I've been wanting to make one but the envelopes I want to use are a little bigger and have windows which I do want to keep visible. Which, of course is why I haven't started it yet because I'm not done over thinking it lol.
I love using the window envelopes! Go for it! I have used them totally open, like any piece of paper, or "hinged." [I can't remember if Barbara made a hinged one.]

@@49dragonflies ich hatte tatsächlich eben schon diesen Gedanken, mir hat's richtig in den Fingern gejuckt. Jetzt habe ich mir da allerdings ein etwas größeres Projekt vorgenommen.... Und werde diese Idee wohl mal auf Anfang nächsten Jahres verschieben müssen, auch wenn's so schade ist

Stunning. I want to try to make one, but I don’t have all the supplies you do. Any tips such as making different sized envelopes, but mostly about the closure. I don’t have twine or eyelets. Any suggestions?
Thanks Jennifer! If your envelopes are not the same size you can always cut the length down and and close the cut side again, but the do need a similar width. Instead of threading the twine through an eyelet you just tie the twine around your journal. I hope that helps! 😊
One very simple tip for the closure is to take a longer thread when you sew in the signature and leave the ends on the outside instead, this way you can use those ends to tighten around the outside of the journal.
