Well, I have to say I agree with your decision to move the chairs out of the bedroom, wasn’t sure at first but yes it does make the room look bigger and more open. But you may want to consider putting a bench, maybe with additional storage for seasonal pillows and blankets. About the rug….two options would be getting a rug slightly smaller so that the dogs traffic area isn’t right on top of your rug, or getting a rug that incorporates more colors, such as the black and cream and rust colors you are currently using in the room. You’ve both done an excellent job on your renovations, everything is looking so nice!

Bedroom: a lot is the same color and a pop of color would work nice. Like you said a darker color on the wall behind the bed with a darker rug, slightly bigger side lamps matching colors of the back wall and rug for a pop of color.

I would go with a light colored bench at the foot of the bed. For two reasons. When you go to bed you can put the excess pillows and you can still use it to put shoes on.
Hi Cambriea! I think a colored rug, maybe dark blue, under your bed would look nice to ground the space. The current rug kind of blends into the floor. Also a tall palm plant in corner next to night stand would bring in a more coastal feel.

Agreed! A bench at the foot of the bed would look great - wood would pick up on that textured rustic, coastal vibe too. You'd also still have somewhere to sit if needed if it were a bench.

If you want a rug thats easier to clean, get an indoor/outdoor rug. You don't need to move furniture to wash it like you would machine washable rugs but they clean up so much better than indoor only rugs. I do dog sitting for a living. Trust me on this.
The bedroom just looks too empty to me. I think a bench at the end of the bed would be nice. Would take up some of that empty space without taking up too much like the chairs did. Chunkier nightstands would be nice too. More color too. Doesn't need to be anything bright, you could even stick with neutrals, but right now there is a lot of white.

I feel a bench at the foot of your bed might work for when putting on your shoes and for holding your fancy pillows when your in bed at night instead of the floor.
Throw rugs would be nice on either side of the bed but no I cannot picture picking up a bed just to wash the rug especially now that you are pregnant. Im glad you took out the chairs it opens up the space more.

Dear Cambriea, I love watching you clean! I have a tip for your bar chairs. When I place my chairs on the table for easier vacuuming and mopping, I always turn the chairs over so the seat faces the table. This is much more hygienic and you can clean the chair feet much better at the same time. Best regards from Switzerland. Bettina

Hi Cambriea! I have an idea for your room. First I think switching the rug and curtains is a good idea, maybe add the rust orange color you already have accented in the room. Then behind the bed instead of painting, add stained wood panels. I think it will add more texture and the warmth you are looking for.

Being of polish heritage, we always put the chairs on the table to do the floors. All my aunts did the same. I don’t do it in my house because my chairs are too heavy. Another thing is my mother always put newspaper on the floors after cleaning for a couple days if company was coming on Sunday, then we would take them off.(we called them polish carpets)
I never heard of that with the newspapers. I'm only 3rd generation American on my dad's side. Both great grandparents came over from Poland, but they didn't teach my grandparents any polish or anything because they said if they were going to live in America, they were going to be American. It makes me a little sad not to have more of that passed down

I know I said that to about the melomeam sponges you can get dry skin off with them as well. Wet it gently wipe. Nothing in them to hurt you.

Maybe a bench or trunk (with storage) at the end of the bed would help. Also your lamps and curtains kind of blend into the back wall so maybe a jewel tone colour in the curtains and lamps would help it pop off the wall behind the bed and cozy it up.

Get a bench with storage for the end of the bed. It is someplace to sit when you are putting on shoes and someplace to storage bed linens like blankets. I got a great one at Wayfair. A new rug with color and a pattern would add a pop to the floor.

Hi Cambriea bigger nightstands in your Master bedroom would look great with a rustic look to it for Bobby,Black on the wall behind your bed would look pretty against the gold mirrors and a nice soft padded storage bench so you can have extra storage at the end of your bed, A darker rug some black and other colors mixed in would be pretty in your bedroom too your house really looks pretty it certainly has come along way you and Bobby both have made your house into a lovely home ❤

I love ordering from TEMU. Mostly everything I’ve purchased has been great. If you order any clothing just be sure to check the sizing charts. Most clothing items for adults run very small. Their gadgets are great. It’s a fun site to shop since the prices are so cheap and the products are pretty good quality.
Removing the chairs in your bedroom is a great call. They make the space feel too cramped because they are higher than the bed end and draw the eye to stop there instead of to the back of the room. A bench would give you the functionality (somewhere to perch whilst getting dressed etc, and shove the extra blankets and pillows at night) without the visual clutter. Combine that with a feature wall - keep this fairly subtle and probably more texture than colour, perhaps wallpaper? - and your eye will then be drawn all the way through the room and feel more spacious without losing the cosy feeling. A fabric topped bench that matches the bed will make it feel more like one large furniture piece which may be a little too much. A complimentary wood toned bench with minimal bulk - think mid century style with thinner legs - would be stunning and very easy to style to suit a change in decor if and when you do that. Wider nightstands will also help to widen the room as the orientation and point of entry give it a long narrow feeling, which is also why I suggested keeping any feature wall at the back subtle.

Edited to add ,- someone else (can't find their comment now, sorry!) Suggested a darker rug and I definitely second that! Will help to ground the space more and more practical with the doggos ;) perhaps a Persian /eastern style with black or dark blue mixed in?

Suggestions for bedroom for a more coastal look. Paint wall behind bed in a blue tone and add indoor outdoor rug & add pillows that pick up same blue. Also add wood tone (driftwood) bench at foot of bed.

I would paint the walls from the floor up to about your waist/a little higher with a warm color (cosy red/brown/vanilla tone) and add a rustic trim at waist heights. The trim could be golden or another color matching the rooms decorations/furniture. Sending love and light to you and your family.

I think a great big farmhouse mirror would look great in your dining room, as everything is square from your hall lies to your coffee bar cabinets. Something round would give it a punch and added interest. You said your bedroom doesn't seem finished, I think maybe because your wall is on the window. The area between the drapes is empty, maybe a huge plant or maybe put that small desk there. Maybe a small vanity, I dont know. I think when you take your chairs out of the bedroom, you might need to add a bench behind your bed. I think you might feel that the room is complete then, or it could be crowded. But I know just adding one of these things will push it in the right direction. A rug that mixes or has the colors of your rust pillows will help to ground the bed and give the floor a big pop of color. It's just my two cents! So...Cambriea, be careful what you ask for! Lol! Love your show. I really enjoy seeing your creativity and talent! You're a very smart and dynamic lady! You rock!
