I'm so glad you're back and y'all weren't affected by Hurricane Helene. I ask y'all to please continue to pray for me. I do have a tumor on my left temporal lobe. They still haven't said what size it is, but he did say he doesn't want to do anything with it right now. He wants me to contact him if my headaches get worse, which he did give me a prescription for the headaches. I appreciate all of the prayers and continued prayers. God Bless.

We had a similar situation with Hurricane Milton. We didn't think it would be too bad but we ended up getting tornadoes through our neighborhood and were without power for 5 days. Luckily we had a place to stay with power and our house didn't sustain much damage at all! So glad you were okay as well!
Glad to hear you’re all safe! You mentioned that you got a stomach bug and that you didn’t discard everything in your fridge after the power outage. Just a side note: my sister has worked in food service for several years and is safe serve certified and she said that ANYTHING that has been refrigerated absolutely MUST be thrown out once the food is exposed for eight hours or more to a temp of 50 degrees Fahrenheit. So all those sauces, condiments and pickles should be tossed! Nothing is safe to consume after being in the fridge four days without power. Stay safe and healthy ❤
My dad always said if you’re considering tossing it, think safe, not sorry.

Don't stress about an interrupted posting schedule--everyone understands! Glad you're family's OK. I enjoyed the restock. One note: sour cream, like all dairy products, should be stored in the interior of the fridge, as the door is warmer. It will stay fresher longer that way! Best wishes getting back to "normal" after the storms.

I would love some prayer. At 7am on Friday a tree fell on our house and by the grace of God nobody was hurt but our house is a mess. The tree estimated at 40K lbs. We will be out of home for about 6 months and while we only left with our pj's on the shelter and churches have gotten us all we need. We are now safe at a family members house

So glad that you didn’t have any damage. I live on the east coast of Florida where hurricane Milton exited. A lot of people here flooded and also a lot of people have no power. fortunately, I didn’t have any damage, but it was great to see the community come together as restaurants would put together daily meals for the people that didn’t have power or had home damage. I am praying for everyone that had to go through any of the hurricane storms.🙏🙏

We’ve been through one hurricane back in 2012 in New Jersey! Hurricane Sandy!
I was pregnant w my first child!
We live in Jersey
Damage wasn’t bad for our home but we did lose power for like 5 days 5/6 days!
We had no gas stations w gas & I still had to work at the nursing home!
If you ever saw the boardwalk in Jersey w the roller coaster in the water - that was a few towns from me!

Glad you all are ok! We had a similar experience in south central MS during Hurricane Katrina. No water for a couple of days and no power for a week. We were out of school for two weeks because there was no power there. No phone service and Internet for a few days. It was something I don’t want to repeat. Trees were down all around but thankfully our home was spared! 🙌🏻
You mentioned doing a breakfast casserole with the Jimmy Dean sausage roll. We do it with the Jimmy Dean Maple Sausage roll. It is divine!

I live in Lexington, KY and have lost power many times due to summer storms and ice storms. I’ve lost power for 3-4 days several times. It’s almost easier in the winter when it’s cold outside. If it’s below 40 I’ve been known to put my refrigerated stuff outside on the patio. It’s also easier if you have gas logs and a gas stove. It’s harder with summer storms or hurricanes because it’s harder to save all of your refrigerated food.
I'm praying no more hurricanes!! This season has been so rough for so many 🙏💔

So glad to see you back! I live in SWFL and totally understand what you are going through. My area had a direct hit from Ian 2 years ago and so much devastation happened. We luckily had minimal damage unlike some of my friends and family who lost much more. We were out of power over a week and lost all the food in our fridge from Ian. Luckily for Helene and Now Milton just hitting we were lucky not to lose power or have damage but many family members are just now getting their power back. Praying for everyone affected by the 2 hurricanes!

I filled up my bathtubs for toilet flushing water and as many pitcher's I had for drinking water. We had a small generator to keep at least our fridge cool. Cooked on propane grill and burners. We just basically pulled out all our camping gear and was ready.

Glad you were okay! We've been in a similar experience storm wise during tornado outbreaks, sadly we can't really prepare. We are lucky that they move fast and don't last as long as a hurricane. I was in category 3 when I lived in the Panhandle they are not fun and so scary! We lost a cousin during Hurricane Helene.

Also, I live in Kansas...tornadoes every summer. My husband and I were at a casino when one came through and all the guests were packed in the hotel hallways. It was crazy.

We’ve been through hurricanes many times. We didn’t loose a single thing because we have a generator. The longest we’ve been without power is a week. Only the fridge and freezer stayed on the generator. We kinda enjoy roughing it. We played board games and watched videos on a portable dvd player.

I had been thinking about you after the Hurricane. It absolutely made me sick throwing away all of our food after Beryl hit Houston.

Our house was hit by a tornado in April. We still haven’t recovered from that. The tornado went between our house and our neighbor’s house. Our neighbor’s house was destroyed. They’re getting it bulldozed today. One side of our house was hit and destroyed. Our pool house had to bulldozed, we had a 14 ft hole in our roof, one of our attics collapsed, all of the ceilings were leaking water, the shingles were all ripped off, we have double pane windows and the outer panes are all broken, whole trees were in the pool and destroyed it, end of our driveway collapsed with big holes in it, only one tree left standing (we had beautifully mature trees), house took on standing water in some rooms and much more. The insurance company takes forever to pay for renovations. I’m praying for all the families effected by the recent hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes etc. My heart breaks for them. Glad you guys were ok.

Are you aware that your home owners insurance will pay you a nominal amount for the contents? Glad you are ok. I am in middle NC about 2 hours from our mountains which were beyond destroyed. It’s heartbreaking to know that it’s all gone. We have been collecting donations for them. Glad your sickness is over.
