- The final boss in the game.
This guy got massive buffs and now his Meteor and Big Bang attack deal incredible damage. Make sure to keep Shell and Haste and reapply them when he casts Black Hole on your party and if he's spamming that Osmose spell too much, just use your Ethers, Dry Ethers, Elixirs or even Megalixirs, since they won't carry over to the NG+.
After that, we watch the ending and the credits. The music ended a bit too soon, so I added the Prelude near the end. It's such a beautiful song... - บันเทิง

This has got to be one of the most epic and memorable final boss sequences of the entire series.
The sequence itself is great-the boss not so much. I mean, it's not bad or anything, but to me it felt like a giant "stat-check," if that makes any sense. I died on my first try because I was sort of underleved (and lacked a lot of the rarer Augments), but I just beat him on my third try after obtaining Bahamut for Rydia and getting my party to level ~70 each.

i have this game on the ds and now, there is the pixel remaster seriously mutch and mutch better but those are all the super nintendo versions and nes versions with the game boy advance translation
it's really one of the very few "friends give you strength when you are down" scenes that doesn't feel cheesy, corny and out of place. it's completely epic, in all the versions of the game i've played. amazing!
Damn right! The plot was polished by a Shonen Jump editor at that time so it was the best plot among ff1-6.

That's something think games does really well. It uses game play elements as part of the story. Very effective

The battle Theme is beyond music.
So playing the game as a young child, I never even made it to the moon. Tonight I defeated Zeromus on PC on hard. This game was every bit of challenging as I remember. The story still sent shivers down my spine. But I had no idea how amazing this ending was. I had no idea you travelled to the moon. If I made it to the end as a young child, this would likely have been the best game I've ever played.
Damn, that boss fight had my heart racing! And I'm in my twenties! I can beat any PS4 game in less than 10 hours, but this took about 50 and BLEW MY MIND. What an amazing game and an amazing story. Playing it in 3d on my PC was........ok I could go on forever

Great, now beat proto babil with using no rare items. Every attack is a 1 hit kill except for laser barrage.
I tried so hard on proto babil without using any tails but I need to farm them now. ( I have sword,shield and helmet)

Considering the amount of pain and suffering I went through this Hard Mode of a game to get to Zeromus, I am honestly shocked I somehow beat him on my first try...

After the ending (credits) music finishes, in any version of FFIV, the Prelude, more often than not, begins to play. That is from my experience with the SNES, PlayStation, GBA, and DS versions of FFIV.
Theme of Love in this Ending is perfect.

I've always found this game hard. It's the most hard final fantasy for me.
Too bad Zemus wasn't known much earlier in the game, could of became one of the better antagonists. Though I always loved his death speech.

Necron makes sense in the way the cloud of darkness makes sense. A powerful mage, obsessed with finding away to overcome death, plots to unbalance the world to live forever/destroy everyone along with himself, only to find their actions instead summon a powerful entity of nothingness bent on reducing the world(s) to nothingness.
Recently replayed 4 and am going through The After years right now, i used the double blacl magic band once and got goosebumps seeing Fusoya say "Give your power to meteor!" Again lucky me a guy who loves cinematics its also the move that ended the fight

There’s a glitch in this fight where if edge throws a weapon while hasted and black hole nullifies it before he throws it, it does more damage when thrown

i have no idea how, but Zeromus didn’t use Big Bang AT ALL when i fought him! I don’t know if it’s because i had Dark Matter, or i just got lucky

I played the original NES version on an online emulator so it's very interesting to see how the remake handles changes and additions to the original material. I don't think I could go back and play this version to get an enhanced experience as that would be redundant but this seems a worthy, and perhap definitive, edition for first-time playthroughs.
I remember playing this back when I was a kid I was in foster care at the time my foster mom gave me a Nintendo DS and I bought final Fantasy 4 with my own money and it was the best game I actually ever played played it all the way through this has to be one of my favorite games also I really love final Fantasy 7 as well

Just beat this game today, was about to lose to Zeromus but Kain came in clutch and I won. Overall, great but challenging game. Sometimes a little bullshit but I had fun.

It's an official remake. I had the same opinion when I first played this game on the DS back in the day and was hoping for a remake of VI in a similar way, but sadly this is the only old FF that got a voice over.

Real number, the game can handle 5-digit numbers just fine. It just initially caps at 9999 since that was the original version's cap. Limit Breaker augment raises the cap to 99999

I can't remember if the game tells you HOW he survived, but you later find him in the Dwarve Kingdom infirmary.

This was with "a budget." You need to remember that this game was made for the original Nintendo DS, a handheld console made in 2004. And this is a 2007 game made for that hardware. This game is one of the most impressive cutting-edge games for the Nintendo DS. I do agree that it would be cool to get another remake with modern graphics though.
@@JohnCrawford1979 No, they couldn't have. A game's graphics can only be as good as the hardware that's it's made for. This is the best that the Nintendo DS can put out because it's weaker the PlayStation which was released in 1994. Sure, Resident Evil 4 on GameCube looked outstanding for 2004, but it was for the GameCube, the second most powerful home console at the time. This game looked far worse for a 2007 game, but it was for the DS, the weaker of the two handhelds at the time, but considering the limitations it looked amazing.

Seriously the music for the final battle actually sounds better on snes/sfc to me. I figured it would be better on psp. Played through this game a million times just not the psp version. Tried the after years stuff though.
I think at least you can use the og soundtrack on the PSP version?
The music and graphics were better on the SNES than this version. By the time they tried to make this one 3D, they should have been able to make the characters similar to the PS1. And on the PC, getting a crappy port of the DS? It's just sad what they did to one of the most iconic games of my childhood. I don't want Cecil et. al to look like Lego/Roblox figures. Even a FFIX style would have been far better.

In terms of the original storyline, Final Fantasy IV and XIi mashes up with the original trilogy of Star Wars. This is the only release after Friendship is Magic that keeps the storyline of Star Wars mashed up with Final Fantasy.

As for my strategy on hard, it was similar to this. Average party level was around 70 though. I started with defending, then had Rosa cast shell and haste on Rydia while Edge used Spider Silk. I kept Kain in the air. It was rather simple. I kept Cecil attacking, and Edge was on item duty (ethers, phoenix down if Rosa was preoccupied). Everyone survived every big bang, because of shell, and Kain was in the air. I kept Rosa replenishing health and shell. Rydia summoned Bahamut and dealt almost 9999 damage every time.
Then he cast meteor, took out everyone except Rosa and Cecil (the Protect rings saved my life). I had Rosa dualcast Raise, and Cecil PD'd Kain. After Edge used Megaelixir on the party, I had Rosa dualcast Cura (or curaga, can't remember) and then Holy. Rydia summoned Bahamut, Kain jumped, Cecil attacked, and then Rosa cast Holy again, THEN THE WONDERFUL WHITE FLASHES AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Austin Protect Rings can't reduce Meteor's damage, the only reason why Rosa and Cecil survived is because of the fact of their very high magic defense

i guess i have been favored by RNGsus cause i just crushed him on my first try , and had the feeling that it was way easier than most bosses during the game,he pretty much spammed omtose until he died(big bang was used like 3 times,and meteor killed everybody but rose once,but then i had time to revive them all) it was kind of anticlimatic.

This is the version I've been always trying to find. Thought it was on the GameCube. So this 3D version is on the PC? How did you obtain it? Is it still available? The Zeromus on GameBoy Advance was really tough too though did more damage when I cast Shell for some reason. I'd usually have one dead by the end of the battle but sometimes either lost or had all alive. DualCast wasn't available on that game and Zeromus didn't counter with Osmose.
This first came out on the DS, but nowadays you can buy it on steam for PC or on iOS/Android.

So they do offer it again and I purchased with the After Years. Wow this version is AWESOME!! Lots of different stories within the original story. Lots of changes. I love it! Think I've done all versions now. Used to have it on the PSP. I liked that best but this 3D version is better in my opinion. Love the new feel. Thanks for sharing! B)
In retrospect this game essentially being Final Fantasy x Star Wars, has only made me enjoy it more over time also despite the dated DS era graphics FF4 3D Bahamut is up there with the likes of Anima, Eden and KotRT with one of the most epic summon attacks in the franchise imo, I mean he straight up manipulates the entire solar system as a side effect just before unleashing Megaflare.
Personally I strongly prefer the original IV/2 in the states version.

Well the SNES us version was easier than the ds version. The ds version has the same difficulty as the japanese version.

Dragon Heart1209 It's actually the Nintendo DS version. I was aware that one was eventually ported to iOS, but I didn't know they released it on PC too. Doesn't seem like something you'd play on a PC since it looks kinda crappy on a big screen, but then again it's still heaps more advanced than the original on SNES.

Zeromus is disappointingly easy to put down. Like... I'm kind of disappointed in Zeromus. Him having 150,000 hp doesn't make him hard, it just makes it longer that you can listen to the awesomeness that is the music while fighting him.
