Nice! I also have a 1000 Sahara and am debating between this TFO in 6' UL or a 6' St Croix Triumph Light. I'd like something versatile enough for bass but also crappie and trout which makes me think I should go for a Light power but not sure. Curious to hear your experience with it.

Sorry for responding so late!! So I have caught trout, walleye and bass with this set up. With bass its super nice for the Ultra finesse, you literally feel everything. I will run a light wacky rig with about 6 lb flouro and it works great. I will then switch over to about 4 lb test for trout and walleye, it really makes castablilty nice with an 1/8 oz or 1/16 oz jig head. I have never used a St. Croix but I hear they are awsome, having said that, they are more spendy. My TFO rod I will bever trade in I love it so much and I believe you get the St. Croix performance from it with out the price tag. Probably, the biggest thing though, for me, is the balance. the shimano 1000 with this rod is like a match made in heaven it is flat out perfect in my opinion. Just a real quick note, It has the perfect amount of parabolic bend in the tip and mid shank but has enough base for a heavy hook set, if that makes sense. I must say be ready though, when you hook a 5lb walleye or a 4 lb bass it feels like an absolute truck, so much fun!! Just for reference a 2lb bass feels like a 5lb bass on a medium heavy.
Thanks for the response and hope this helps you out!!
      Josh

I caught a good amount on my 5 foot ugly and the Sedona 1000, was so much fun. I also bought the Berkley Ultra light 5 foot pole and was amazed how fun it was, being this was my first pole purchase not an Ugly in 30 years.

Hi. I have both those rods. Well my st croix is 6 ft 6 and I grab the tfo almost every time. I've caught decent bass on both and the tfo handles them better imo.

@@DrDitchpickle ended up purchasing a 6'6" TFO trout and panfish UL shortly after that comment and I absolutely love it. I use it from pond crappie to bass to wild trout. Fantastic rod and super glad I bought it!

I’m looking for a light or ultra light for shallow river smallmouth. Does the 6’6 cast jigs far ? Also how is it with small crank baits? Is it too stiff or just right?

I only throw one set up on my ultra light and it is a black and green bobby garland on an 1/8 ounce jig head. not sure how the lures you mentioned will perform.
