  • The Angkor region in Cambodia is home to hundreds of temples and archaeological sites, including the famous Angkor Wat temple, which is the largest religious structure in the world. Built between the 9th and 15th centuries, these temples are a testament to the greatness of the Khmer Empire and its rich history.

given that there is no much documentation of the past events. It is now left archeologist /historians description. But we will never know how it was before and what were the subsequent events that led to the desertion of the place. Clearly both architecture and religion reflects Indian origins. But how it got here and the relationship that existed between India and combodia is much to be explored. This help to improve relationship with combodia.

Thailand and Vietnam are currently better than Cambodia for only a short time in modern history. However, for 600 years, the Khmer Empire was much more better than the two countries in terms of power, wealth, and fame.

Buddhism after its intial success in India was pushed out of country. But it had greater success outside India. It explains why it is here. Very likely the king himself converted to Buddhism. Also I see strong architectural connection with south india.

Our legendary Hindu ancestors marked the greatest empire and one of the largest civilizations on the planet. The religious revolution from Hindu to Buddhis after Jayavaraman VIII marked the downfall and destroyed the greatest civilization in conjunction with the climate change. The battle between the two religious have destroyed the internal power and territories domination weakened the long lasting empire. The stoneblocks remnants scattered all over the Angkor park depicted the battle between the two groups depending on the reigning king's belief. either Hindu or Buddhis. The empire continued to weaken as the new reigning king chosen religion. divided the two groups long lasting until the dominant Buddhis took over in the later century. Cambodia went through many dark histories that people don't understand and continue compare to the fast growing neighboring countries. Khmer rouge have wiped out almost 95 percent of historian, doctors, lawyers, archeologists, and many more. The struggling leaders were corrupted until the present day. Thank you for this documentary.

Cambodian govt should allow the Hindu prayers inside the ankorwat. And should stop people going there with shoes on feet. It's a Sacred hindu temple need to be restored for the well being of the people and the country.

When the religion of Cambodia was Hinduism then these beautiful temples were built and Cambodia was technologically so ahead but when the people there adopted Buddhism then later on they were neither able to build temples in this country nor could they move ahead.

It is not a hindu temple. The word hindu did not exist during those time. This word was first used by Mughals during their rule in India when Brahmins were ministers in mughal empire. Do not associate Combodians with hindu. There is no inscription found in those archeological site which says there were hindu.

Aryans are not inveders, hinduism was present in India before the arrival of Aryans... Aryans wrote down the Vedas which was orally transferred people to people. HINDUISM actually leads to one reality the Om 🕉️ . Param Brahman.

Thank You So much @Best Documentary.
The Khmers Cambodia did not understand the language. on the walls of Angkor Wat or Nakorn Wat.
    It's all Khom Siam language.
    Even the language imitates Khom.
Until now, Khmer Cambodia thought it was them own language.
During the Funan period, Khmer Cambodia did not speak this Khom language.
Speaks Cham language mixed with languages from northern Indonesia.
When they became Khom Siam workers for about 1,000 years,
the Khmers Cambodia spoke the Khom language fluently.
Until the Khmer Cambodia thought it was their own language
If you can fully understand the words "Khom Siam" and "Khmer Cambodia"
You will have the wisdom to see everything as it really is.
But those who still can't think about it must let it gone.
No nation knows more about the Cambodian in this world than the Thai .

What a joke 😂😂😂 Thai people are trying so hard to change the history and make it everything about them. Don't forget your ancestors are just migrants from china. Why are Thai people so obsessed with cambodians they comment on almost every videos posting false information. Be greatful cuz without us your culture wouldn't exist
