I couldn’t beat my 9year old son. When he went to his mom. I played about 16hours a day and watched youtube a lot, learned shortcuts and airbreaking. Now I am waiting for my son to come back home and to OWN him bigtime. I guess that’s what dads do.

I beat it as a kid and I wasn’t any legend at games lol not the relic runs and didn’t know any short cute really. I beat all the crash games as a kid. They weren’t the easiest but they aren’t that tough really. But Idk lol

The original Crash Team Racing was the first video game I ever played. It feels so surreal to see a childhood gem of mine be polished and brought to form for the new generation. Glad to hear it held up to most expectations.

Mildewed Duke I very faintly remember playing it on my sisters gameboy when I was 4 or 5 I think? I loved it I remember driving around the oval thing where it seemed like kinda free roam and there were a bunch of other karts randomly driving too

On a less spastic level, this game is great. The key ingredients are the honesty to the source material, the fact that the artists went all out with every different detail, and the fact that online mode doesnt detract from the initial game, but actually adds to it with maps that were never even in the original ctr getting the same full reboot as the main game tracks. Its great

Experienced no frame issues at all? In fact the gameplay is so smooth in this that 30fps feels like 60. I’m playing on a PS4 Pro with an SSD installed, so better load times too 😉

The loading times for adventure mode are pretty bad but they’re fine everywhere else.

I remember playing the original CTR demo at Best Buy or circuit city. My parents bought it a few weeks later for Christmas and the rest is history. My whole family has been playing this game my entire life. My parents used to give my sister and I a full lap head start and still kick our ass. Now it’s them that need the head start.

I have my problems with the game (especially in regards to characters, story, tone, etc.), but I had boatloads of fun on splitscreen mode as a kid. Stunt arenas, battle modes, you name it. I still go back to it from time to time, and while it can't hold my attention for as long as the original PS1 games (including Crash Bash) can I still have some fun with it.
Tag team was so good for me the Apex of the car racers.
May they bring the fusion mechanic and it will be complete

CTR and ModNation Racers are both better than Mario Kart, I also had to look @ other games but I forgot.
I've played CTR on PS1, Nitro Cart on PS2, Tag-Team Racing on PS2. I usually play as Coco, but on Tag Team Racing I played as Nina Cortex.

Crash Team Racing and Nitro Kart was my long lost childhood friend I haven't played in so long, I have been super hyped for this for ages. Yet, I literally don't remember a single them from it lol.
i loved this gem of a game so much growing up. i was so happy that it was being remade from the ground up without losing its flare. just yesterday my save data got corrupt and lost all of my time trials.. i was almost done all of beating Oxides time trials but its okay. im doing it all over again only because i love the game so much. Beenox, you deserve an award

It might just be a recent patch but I had zero problems with load times in offline modes. If anything, I was surprised with how fast it was to restart a race. (PS4 Pro)
The load times have been fine for me as well... Not sure what this is about long load times.
The load times for adventure are pretty bad, sometimes after you finish a race and go to the podium it can take 45 seconds plus, but everywhere else they’re fine.
@@ios4888 I feel like that feeling is more due to the fact that you can't skip the podium scenes. Hopefully that can be patched up if it's not hiding a load screen.
@@1Fanfanatick The first version has around 20 seconds of loading time between races (in PS4 Pro). So maybe it's patched now.

If people say the CTR (Crash Team Racing) copied Mario Kart, it's the other way around. Although Mario Kart came first, CTR became the inspiration for all future Mario Kart games after it was released.

CTR was my very first video game. I went over to my friends house one time and they were like "try this" so I did and have been hooked ever since. They still have the working original that I'd go over to play but it had been many years before I did the PS4 version and remembered how hard it was! Anyways, THe TRoPHYs MiNeeeee!!! ❤❤❤
I used to be obsessed with this game as a kid, i knew all the shortcuts, completed all time trials and other side events to unlock characters, i´m not quite sure but as far as i remember I managed to complete everything the game had to offer back in the day...Good times all around!
Sadly I haven´t been able to play Nitro-Fueled yet since there´s no PC release so far ( dropped console gaming 2 gens ago )

Ok this is encouraging, a skill based kart game sounds great. Mario kart is such a mixed bag, with items becoming more important than anything else a lot of the time

We need a brand new crash game. Maybe a sequal to warped or something. Vicarious visions nailed the remasters and they have what it takes to make a good crash platformer.

@@yamiart6149 Well they CAN ignore the timeline (not sure if they would or not at this point), I personally have no problems with Crunch as a character but at the same time he's not very interesting either. I feel like ideally a sequel to Warped would be best.
I think that would most likely be the case because think about how long ago WoC and Twinsanity came out. it was Well over a decade ago for both of them and neither have had rereleases. So it wouldn't make any sense to potential children playing these games (even though I'm sure mostly nostalgic adults are playing them haha)
I gotta say though I really love Twinsanity for how funny Cortex was so if we did get a sequel to that I'd be more than happy. plus I think Nina could be a cool character if they gave her a bit of personality, or make her the main villain of the next game! Idk what do you think?

I noticed the boost meter is different in this new version, but I also saw that it can look like the one from CTR on the PS1. Is there any difference between when it’s used in this version? Did the developers add a sort of “retro mode” for those of us who loved the PS1 cosmetics?

As a diehard Crash fan from the early PS1 all the way to the ill-fated Mind Over Mutant, I’ve been looking forward to this game for quite a while and to hear the inclusion of the later games, like Tag Team, and Nitro Kart, as well as possibly Spyro, makes me a happy camper. I can’t wait to see what else they do moving forward, and having characters from all across the franchise makes it feel like a complete package for the die-hard fan as myself, it also has me excited for what the future will bring in the way of a possible NEW Crash stand-alone adventure, maybe a Spyro crossover! Who knows. Just that this game looks stellar and I’m excited to get my hands on it. Thanks Gameranx for another dope video.

There are no micro-transactions. The devs said you can earn coins and unlock everything in game by playing the game. An ode to how games used to be when you earned your unlockables rather then buy them from the get go in today's standards.

CTR has always been the my girlfriend and i's favorite kart racer. When this remake was announced, we lost our shit! The speed, the skill, the sound effects, all amazing and better then Mario kart.
And the battle mode!!! The battle mode is so legit. So much more intense then every Mario kart.

Oh my god this was one of my favorite games as a kid. Wasn't much of a Nintendo kid, so this was my jam. Can't wait to play it again, it looks great.
I love this remake. It adds extra stuff with gorgeous graphics, yet it doesn't take anything away from the fun in the original. After playing the original I always thought the single player AI was a little on the easy side, so I'm happy they made it more difficult. Having said that, brand new players may want to play the 'Classic Mode' or set difficulty to easy first.

It was a killer on PS1 and PS2 controllers, because we played it so long and so often. It might be the most played video game my brother and I ever owned.

also... aside from loads on original... CTR is the fun from mario kart (not that high) with the feel of Rock 'n Roll Rancing (with no actual obliteration of enemys).

I love this reboot remaster of the game. I used to play this more oftenly by myself since I didnt have another ps1 controller so we played mk64. But I always loved drift and jump boosting in this game and I'm so glad that I still remember how this game handled and instantly got adapted on the first 10 seconds. The physics were spot on with th original

The ones like the Hot Air Skyway's fence jump is impossible, but ones like the Papu's Pyramid last corner jump is still doable provided you have enough speed and approach correctly.
@@mahiru20ten fence jump in hot air skyway (if what you meant the one that near the tunnel) is still possible. I done it with coco yesterday. Meanwhile that sewer speedway one is sill hard for me. I don't know why... That track seems broken compare to orginal.

I absolutely love the game! Crash Team Racing has been my favorite Kart Racing game ever since I was a little kid! This remaster contains everything that made the original amazing and more! Aside from the long loading times, one thing I did noticed is that the controls feel a bit more "slippery"... I took me a bit to get used to, despite my 17+ years of experience with the original... My favorite characters are Coco and Pura, love the Lynx and Black Cat skin for them!
CTR Is My Favorite Game Of The Series. Crash, Tiny And Cortex Are My Favs To Race As. I Enjoy This Game Still Unlocking Stuff While Playing Love That! Just Like The Good Ole Days!
