I've yet to play Crash 4 but yes, Warped is the best one I've played. Taking all of the improvements of Crash 2, and mixing it with the superior and more fair level design of Crash 1.
Rashed125 I still couldn’t beat the last race in nsane trilogy warped lol. But yeah second one was hard but not frustrating, definitely the best difficulty tuning in og games.
@@Rashed1255 agreed, crash 2 feels like the naughty dog staff were at their creative peak. Crash 3 almost seems thrown together, and most of the game is vehicle levels that aren't all that fun to play.

Crash 3 was my favorite for a bit because of the power ups, but as I grew older I realized I had a better and more memorable time playing Crash 2, and after playing both a several more times Crash 2 stood out more as the better game.
Crash 2 because its the first PS game I ever played. Can't speak for anything outside the first 3 but I just super excited to get a new "authentic" Crash game in my 30's.
Garrett Arauz Crash 1 was my first game, Crash 2 was the second and my favorite, the secrets were some of the best in the series and very memorable and the difficulty was spot on

That's actually tough and sad. Why did you have to give it away? In hindsight then: good thing I had to save money with my allowance to get these things, so no way my parents would be able to make me give away the stuff I bought myself. Though, it made it also hard to have to save months for a game like Crash Bandicoot 2, only to play it through in just an afternoon. As someone who grew up playing the original trilogy in the 90's, I'm happy to see this game do so well. Toys for Bob has made the best new Crash game in over a decade. The last good one in my opinion was Crash Twinsanity.
I have to say, Crash Twinsanity was a massively underrated game that was unfortunately missed by many. It had a unique focus on a storyline and more open environments mixed with awesome humour. I wish more people enjoyed it back in the original Xbox era.

I really appreciate these videos. This game looks great! I'll definitely have to play it at some point. I like these new gen spins on old classics. Though more of a remaster with smoother mechanics and combos, Destroy All Humans was really fun too.
I only have one complaint and it's Crash's design. He looks a little pale, the shoulders are a little high but otherwise his expressions and animation is perfect. It's an unbelievable sequel to me, it's exactly how they would've made a true sequel to the first game. It adds new fun and challenging box types, enemy varieties that aim at you and fit into the environment. The enemies fly into each other, the level follow the same pattern but expands on it so much with the ropes, sliding and diagonal movement, new power ups that the levels work with to make new challenges and is so vibrant yet sticks to the core of Crash completely it's unbelievable how good they stayed Crash yet added and improved so much. The levels look beautiful. Cartoony, colorful, detailed yet simple and vibrant and the shading and low light makes the colors pop a lot more while being subtle and not in your face and obnoxious. I can't imagine an mmo looking like this at least in it's design and theme. Otherwise i'd waste more time on it than people wasted on WoW in 2004 and forward yikes. ps. WHY COMPLAIN ABOUT LENGTH?! More game means more fun. We're already struggling with short attention spans among many societies don't encourage them. Play more for longer, better than blasting through facebook comments on the phone for 3 hours.
Always appreciate your takes on games. This looks like it could be a fun holiday purchase. If you got through the main stuff in 7 hours, that means I will get 20 hours of gameplay because I really suck sometimes 🤪
The grey playstation 1 was my first console and crash 2 was my first game. I love crash 4. Has a nostalgic feel while still feeling like a new experience. ❤️
@@Skrenja While i prefer CTR and Warped, Crash 2 is also excellent! Although it have some minor design issues and a poor management of backtracking and lack of content when you 100% the game, its still masterpiece.
This game was better than I expected it to be. Gameplay and level design are solid. I love the hidden gems. Graphics are good but not gorgeous which is a shame it could've been so beautiful with better lighting and texture details and little bit more realistic colors. Music is good but not gorgeous either, they went with Crash 1 type of music which doesn't make itself very noticeable but blends in very well, I personally prefer Crash 2 and 3 type of music which is more present and entertaining and sometimes very immersive as they use some animal sounds in the distance in the music.
Im a crash fan crom way back. I just boughtcrash 4 2 days ago and i couldnt be more pleased with it. AMAZING gameplay and dynamic new elements makes this game a 5 out of 5. Definately reccomend
I really love the Crash Series and was the game I finished most times in the PS1, I never got to play the PS2 games, but got the PC remake and based on what I see on this video the Crash 4 is exactly what I wanted :D Gotta buy this one for Series X!
I think this has completely sold me...i used to play the hell out of Warped as a kid. I would wake up in the morning and i could have completed all the regular levels before breakfast. I'm anxious to play a proper new Crash game.
the difference between some Mario games and crash is that the levels in crash feel like real places unlike in new super Mario where the places feel like they only make sense as a game level instead of a real place
@@archielambert7418 !? Not gonna lie, I jokingly thought you must live in Australia, damn it is a weird place lol. I guess I can see what you mean, their themes in the levels are real enough I suppose.
The platforming sequences remind me of Guacamelee . the dimension shifts and gravity changes and button memorization and precise situations. Bright colors. Goofy emotes.
I honestly really loved Crash Bash as a kid. If they pushed that out as a $30-$40 remake/remaster I'd buy in a heartbeat. It was always my favorite party game.
My first taste of the Crash Bandicoot franchise was _The Wrath of Cortex_ on the original Xbox, not a bad game at all, lots of fond memories. This looks like a nice refresh of a classic, beloved character; kudos to Toys For Bob for developing it with passion!
I first played crash 2, crash warped, and wrath of cortex. All three of those games were my childhood and I loved them. I then didn't play any crash games until a couple years ago when I bought the n-sane trilogy. I then went to this video now to see if I should get 4. This video has convinced me to get the game.
@@thisissolidsnake97 considering how popular of character she is and Activision briging her back in the Skylander's games and Tv series its unavoidable at this point.
Crash Tag Team Racing will always be my favourite Crash game. I just loved the fusion gameplay with the cars and weapons, the sound was brilliant and just complex levels for me when I was a kid
One thing you forgot to mention, but thankfully it's seen partially in the video, there are new types of boxes. 3 in particular: 1. Flame boxes. Like regular, but they hurt you if you're next to them when they're flaming. 2. Timer exclamation boxes. Like the regular exclamation, but their changes are temporary, and you have a limited time to either break or use the generated boxes. After that, they become clear again, and the timer exclamation box resets for you to hit again. 3. Bounce-to-Nitro boxes, my personal favorite. Those are unfortunately only in the flashback levels. Each one starts like regular solid bounce boxes, but after a certain number of hits (which can be tracked by the look of the arrow), it turns into a nitro box. Not only are you limited in how many times to bounce on each of those, but the still solid ones don't detonate by the nitro trigger box at the end, which requires extra precision and/or thinking outside the box in order to nail the box-count completion.
My favorite crash game has to be wrath of cortex. The levels in the game are very memorable (to me), and in my opinion, there is no other game in the crash series that can top this game's soundtrack.
I've been hyped and excited for this game since it's been teased. But didn't pre-order it because of the CTR microtransactions. That was such a slap in the face. I'll give this game a month or 3, if everything still okay I'll jump into it.
Everything in this game is 100% unlockable through gameplay. I reallllly am not sure how microtransactions could be added without a seasons system like CTR had
I want a Crash Tag Team Racing Remaster. One day maybe. I absolutely loved that game as a kid. The music, the park, the deaths of Crash. I just love that game
Wow that pass the controller thing is so cool. I play games with my nephew and he's always changing the rule from 1 life to two to 3 and we fight over it. Lol
I don’t want to go in with any bias. So I paused the video and I’m gonna play the game first, then come back and see if I agree. Games were more fun as a kid when you didn’t hear the bad things about them before you played
That idea that we had no internet so we couldn't just look things up is so weird, we did do it, we had friend opinions and they would tell you how to beat a level, and we would exchange cartridges of games we finished and recommended, it's always been a social thing. Just watch the video man, take off the rose tainted glasses. And have a nice day!
I have no problem with a shorter game if it’s really fun, and it gives me a reason to come back. Onimusha 1 can be beaten in 4 hours, and I still like it. The classic sonic trilogy and the adventure games are some of my favorite games and they’re in a similar boat. Don’t always need a 600+ hour game that has 6 different crafting systems. (And I like turn based RPGs and BOTW is one of my favorite games) And out of the ones I played (Nsane Crash 1, Crash 2 (as well as the original) and Crash 3, I’d say Warped. It’s the only one I actually beat, and I think it’s varied without straying too far or being unfun. Crash 2 was great as well.
she IS from another dimentio.... ugh, why to bother? Yeah, they are putting politics in a crash game. A woman is gonna steal your dog and eat your human rights
You know. I dont like to listen to other people's opinions and enjoy what i enjoy. Especially when it comes to games. But i do like watching these videos. I was kinda so-so with this game. But im definitely gonna pick it up when i get the money. These videos are awesome. Keep it up!
its games animatoins_ yt. trust me mate with the ps5 You are better off waiting. I have plans to get the ps5 when these 3 come out. Ratchet and clank rift apart. Horizon forbidden west and god of war Ragnarok. Until all three of these games are out I will happily wait. Plus it will be worth to see what problems the ps5 will have and what SSDs we will need for extra storage
Let down of the year. The difficulty level is over the top. It outweighs the overall fun you'd be having otherwise. I was super excited for months expecting a game similar to Warped. What I got was a cluster of levels designed to remind you at every turn that it's nothing like the original trilogy games. Crash games have always been challenging, true, but you shouldn't be dying 40 times per level. And don't come at me with comments saying maybe I'm just bad at it... I've played Crash games my entire life.
It's technically because Wrath of Cortex is the real Crash 4. I know normies usually don't know about the PS2 era Crash games but that doesn't mean they don't exist now.
@@Manic_Panic that's fair and I agree with you, but making a game called Crash 4 with "4" in the title still makes this game a direct sequel. Nothing technical about it.
JKL Are you seriously saying a game even titled “Crash 4” is somehow a fake Crash 4 just because a title released earlier that continued the original continuity? Is Metal Gear 2 suddenly a fake Metal Gear 2 because of Snake’s Revenge? Is Wario Land II a fake Wario Land II because of Virtual Boy Wario Land? Is GTAIV a fake GTAIV because of GTA: Vice City? Is Street Fighter III a fake SFIII because of SF EX? I could go on, but the notion of a game somehow being “fake” is absurd
Wrath of Cortex was my first and fav crash game, i had it on the gamecube lol i didnt know what the game was about at the time because i was too young but it was realllyyy fun
0:50 minor nitpick here, but Activision didn't have the rights to Crash and Spyro until after they purchased Vivendi Universal. The first Crash game released under Activision was Crash Mind Over Mutant, which was the last big Crash Bandicoot game before the N Sane Trilogy and the last completely original game before Crash 4.
I grew up playing crash on the ps1. Out of every game in the entire world, nothing has come close to enjoyment and love i have for crash. Not even the huge AAA games like God of War or The Witcher 3 (which are games i absolutely adore) have managed to make me fall in love as much as the old crash games did. Im so excited to finally play this game but covid-19 brings along its own financial issues. This will definitely be something I scrape every last penny up to purchase whenever I get the opportunity.
Gotta say I didn't play Crash that much on Psone, but now I am really lovin' it!, loved the N sane trilogy, loved CTR, so I am really looking forward to play this one

this game is amazing. Brings me back to when games were actually hard and make you want to throw your controller.
A lot of us lost interest once naughty dog left the series, then again twinsanity was a good game
I really appreciate these videos. This game looks great! I'll definitely have to play it at some point. I like these new gen spins on old classics. Though more of a remaster with smoother mechanics and combos, Destroy All Humans was really fun too.
They really need to remaster Crash: Twinsanity. That was my favorite game in the whole series.
Couldn't agree nore
Yeah since I’m younger than the OG fans, that was my fav, it’s a mix of nostalgia and actual love for how good the game actually was!
I agree but i don't think its gonna happen. crash 4 kinda erases everything that isn't the go trilogy
Dude yes!! The music was so fuckin iconic. My favourite level was when you Snowboard down the ice on cortex. That and the madam amberly levels
The Crash racing games, Crash Bash, and Crash Twin Sanity are a few of my older favs.
The addition of tawna and dingodile is so cool
CTR and Warped= Best games i have ever played... why? They are just perfect even today.
Crash 2 is better.
@@Skrenja While i prefer CTR and Warped, Crash 2 is also excellent! Although it have some minor design issues and a poor management of backtracking and lack of content when you 100% the game, its still masterpiece.
@Donny Dingleberry Thats subjective man. But for me, Crash 2 is the worst.
@Donny Dingleberry Crash 2 also has vehicle levels, and while they are less, it controls worse than Crash 3.
Crash 2 is my jam! One of the few games that I can come back to time and again and still have loads of fun.
I really love the Crash Series and was the game I finished most times in the PS1, I never got to play the PS2 games, but got the PC remake and based on what I see on this video the Crash 4 is exactly what I wanted :D
Gotta buy this one for Series X!
these are absolutely the best game review videos on youtube. No nonsense no bulshit. Before You Buys are king.
Im just waiting for Jak and Daxter...
but still gonna buy this one.
Real places? Where do you live!?
@@Darkseadee i mean they feel like places that could exist in their worlds ya know...
@darkSYNced i live in Australia very weird place
@@archielambert7418 !? Not gonna lie, I jokingly thought you must live in Australia, damn it is a weird place lol. I guess I can see what you mean, their themes in the levels are real enough I suppose.
@@Darkseadee Australia is actually not that weird, it definitely is weird but it's not too bad
The platforming sequences remind me of Guacamelee . the dimension shifts and gravity changes and button memorization and precise situations. Bright colors. Goofy emotes.
I'm excited for this. Reminds me of the days when I would try to beat a level 50 times and then smash my controller against the wall
It definitely has it's moments but an amazing game!
I'm a BIG crash fan. My son is too. He got the Insane Trilogy for his birthday. Can't wait to get him this one!!
Jake Baldino is the only reason I'm subbed to Gameranx. And man I grew up with Crash and many of us did. I'm so excited to get this now.
Too late. I’m about to play it in a couple of hours.
Crash 3 was my first video game and it is crazy now to see Crash make a resurgence.
Now all we need is a good Spyro game. I miss Cinder
YES!!! and Cynder coming back would be great as well
Of that would be amazing
No! None of that legend of Spyro Bullshit is needed
Ps plus July bring me here
One thing you forgot to mention, but thankfully it's seen partially in the video, there are new types of boxes. 3 in particular:
Can’t wait to get this!
Same. Im also doing this with THPS.
Everything in this game is 100% unlockable through gameplay. I reallllly am not sure how microtransactions could be added without a seasons system like CTR had
Toys for bob done an amazing job with the spyro trilogy so I had faith in them to do well with this aswell
Why am I even watching this, I know I want to buy it.
I’m getting this for sure! It’ll be my kids first foray into Crash
Crash Bandicoot for Playstation All Stars Battle Royale 2.
Gameranx BYBs are the only reviews I trust. I’m very glad you guys put in to do all the work you do.
Ah, another episode of "You should buy this" the show where you gives pros, pros and personal opinions on why i should buy this.
Indeed. There is no way in hell he wasn't paid by Activision. Either that or he is a certified fanboy.
I want a Crash Tag Team Racing Remaster. One day maybe. I absolutely loved that game as a kid. The music, the park, the deaths of Crash. I just love that game
I don’t know why I’m watching this I pre-ordered this a while afo
because you support
Same here! I’m gonna be playing it in a few hours!
Only morons preorder
heimdall zumwalt dude shut up let me play the game I payed for
heimdall zumwalt rough day huh?
Having this game since 6pm pt I’m blown away with what toys for bob have done well with this I’m glued!!!!
retro mode is way the game meant to be played just like classic difficulty in mafia remake
Crash WARPED and the ps1 CTR were my childhood
Me watching this even tho I press ordered 3 months ago
(And I like turn based RPGs and BOTW is one of my favorite games)
And out of the ones I played (Nsane Crash 1, Crash 2 (as well as the original) and Crash 3, I’d say Warped. It’s the only one I actually beat, and I think it’s varied without straying too far or being unfun. Crash 2 was great as well.
Tawna doesn't even have the same body type as in the original Crash.
she IS from another dimentio.... ugh, why to bother? Yeah, they are putting politics in a crash game. A woman is gonna steal your dog and eat your human rights
@@Dagarar she came from 2020 america
I don’t know why people give so many shits
@@Dagarar What's political about it? She's still curvy right? What's different?
You know. I dont like to listen to other people's opinions and enjoy what i enjoy. Especially when it comes to games. But i do like watching these videos. I was kinda so-so with this game. But im definitely gonna pick it up when i get the money. These videos are awesome. Keep it up!
I struggle with these kind of games so I won’t be getting it but it looks incredible
I’ve never played a Crash game and I probably won’t played this one, but I still enjoy viewing Gameranx videos
Nostalgia childhood intensefies
Wow... Remember me old times... This my childhood reflected such a GREAT GAME.
I want this game but I am still saving up for the ps5 😔😔
You don't want to buy the first set anyways
You got time to save, even the next batch is already sold out.
its games animatoins_ yt. trust me mate with the ps5 You are better off waiting.
“This game is technically a sequel to Crash 3 and it’s technically Crash 4”
What’s technically about it? It’s literally all those things
It's technically because Wrath of Cortex is the real Crash 4. I know normies usually don't know about the PS2 era Crash games but that doesn't mean they don't exist now.
Because of PS2 era.
@@Manic_Panic that's fair and I agree with you, but making a game called Crash 4 with "4" in the title still makes this game a direct sequel. Nothing technical about it.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi Sonic 4 had 4 in the title, but the real direct sequel was Sonic Mania, years later
Might be the same case here
JKL
Are you seriously saying a game even titled “Crash 4” is somehow a fake Crash 4 just because a title released earlier that continued the original continuity?
Is it more forgiving than the nsane trilogy. Ive been playing that again. And it drives me nsane :D
I managed to finish every level but I swear I found it easier when I was about 6.
@@falsetitle6940 it's literally harder due to the hotboxes. You can Google this. So you're not wrong!
Who else wants a mind over mutant sequel, used to be a huge fan
I grew up playing crash on the ps1. Out of every game in the entire world, nothing has come close to enjoyment and love i have for crash. Not even the huge AAA games like God of War or The Witcher 3 (which are games i absolutely adore) have managed to make me fall in love as much as the old crash games did. Im so excited to finally play this game but covid-19 brings along its own financial issues. This will definitely be something I scrape every last penny up to purchase whenever I get the opportunity.
Im her because it’s free
Gotta say I didn't play Crash that much on Psone, but now I am really lovin' it!, loved the N sane trilogy, loved CTR, so I am really looking forward to play this one
I's about time, I was expecting this video :v
