I know this is an old video but I’m also one of “those” people that opened up the 1oz bar (it was the first piece of gold I’d ever bought so I just wanted to feel it lol). My question is, do they make capsules for the 1oz Perth mint gold bars? If so, where could I purchase one?
Thank you for your videos. I just watched your first one regarding fake vs real. After watching and then going onto eBay there appeared to be quite a few fakes on there.
Been wanting an opinion, I’ve recently bought a Perth mint bar from my local dealer, they opened it up to test it since they don’t have an XRF machine. They put it back in the pack (looks all well) but says void on the back. They said it’s legit from their testing, the fact it says void will they that affect price when selling even though it’s real?
The fact it’s open. When you open a bar my coin shop takes 10% off out of package. Spot-$100 if still in package. I found it’s best to have coins if you wanna touch your gold. No money is taken off because most are made for circulation and abuse.
Hi guys quick question, Are you planning on stocking "junk silver" at any point? I'm addicted to buying it but it can be hard to source at times in Perth.
Hey Nathan, we don't buy it from suppliers/wholesalers, but we do get customers selling it back to us from time to time. When we do, we'll pop it up on the website.
@@pratikchaturvedi3529 Thanks, i was thinking it would be easier for storage without the package but didnt know if its a problem to remove it. I dont actually have any, i was just curious about it.
From what I’m noticing lately is that the fakes are lifting their game and adjusting weights etc to closer emulate a real bar or coin etc. The only true way of knowing is that XRF gun.
@@BullionNow i bought a 20g perth mint bar sealed from a reputable dealer and when i asked him to scan it using the XRF gun, he did but it showed it was 95.8% gold through the plastic packaging, he said this is normal, and it wont show 99.9% gold through the plastic, is this true?
Does anyone know where I can buy a fake bar? I want to be able to test some of these detection methods and make sure the dealer I deal with has an XRF gun. And I'm not talking about going on ebay from the usa or wish from china and buying fakes for 95% the price of real. Thank you.
I noticed 10 gram perth gold bars being sold on Ebay by a new seller for about $30 cheaper than any reputable seller. As much as I'd love saving the $30 I'm not taking the chance.. much rather have that peace of mind.
for some reason... Perth mint brand can be fake easily.... that's why i avoided this brand../mint. I guess it's time for Perth mint to add more security features.. else they will lose most of the gold bars sales. Look at Royal mint.. on the britannia 2021 gold coin.. so much security features squeeze into just a small coin.....

the fake bars are alot thicker and sold on ebay. if your buying gold from ebay you need to rethink your education.
Do you know where one can buy fakes but not at the cost of the real stuff?
@@auntiesemite9295 wish. cost around 10 bucks for fake 1 oz Austrailian perth mint with assay card
@@thelucky2133 Thanks, I'll check it out.
Tungsten has nearly the same density as gold. Search for gold plated tungsten.
Great video, it took me forever to find the answer to my question of what the perth mint tamper evident case does when tampered with. A+
Really informative! Thanks for making another
You guys are great! I love watching you. I wonder how difficult it is to ship gold to Poland?
Is an lcs going to offer you less with an opened assay card???
Does the word void only altar if opened..??
I have a sealed one , no void word visible
Do the Pamp suisse bars have any protective measures such as this
How much does the real ones weigh in the packets

Is the value any different if the bar is in or out of the packaging?
No its not, they check on purity that's it.. if bar looks broken/torn then they might check on weight as well

do the fakes still offer any value?
Value to scammers, yes. Value to us for educational purposes, yes. Value to others? Hard to say!
It’s going to be difficult to verify these bars without opening them, they’ll eventually be creating near perfect counterfeits
XRF'ing is the way to go.
It would have been nice to see them open a fake bar to see if they have duplicated the "void" security feature.
We might do that next time!

no need for darknet or such crap. just buy one on bay for price of a real one! lol

Agreed, buy from a reputable bullion dealer!
this is why i prefer cast bars and coins
Keep up the good work

If you are going to open the card, you might as well take it out and put it in a case. Otherwise it looks suspicious.
Thanks for the input :)
No worth my Risk / trouble buying gold bars from other then a reputable company like BN. The guys are happy to test it on their XRF
