    Thanks for the video. Would of been nice to have seen the tiled finished.

    Gaining natural light into landing area is brilliant especially if you have an existing dark area that then becomes brighter as opposed to new construction I think you need solid strutting in-between the rafters to stop them twisting..

    We have had one for over 10 years in a hall and it makes the room look much bigger. Our was a solaglow brand. Didn’t have much choice at the time it has a Solid light tunnel.

    Thats handy, I am going to do 2 of these with double roman roof tiles on my upstairs extension. Have already been talking to velux.

      Perfect! The instructions aren't as helpful as Lego for kids, but it's a pretty easy product to install even without them.

      @@OfficeBoyBuilder Hi Tom, hope I find you and the familly well. What direction did you install these too, as I have to install mine North facing....

    • @OfficeBoyBuilder
      @OfficeBoyBuilder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ours is South West facing because it's at the front of our house...we have a North East facing garden, which is a bit of a shame from a sun point of view, and we are getting a bit of moss on our roof tiles now! They really magnify the amount of light coming in though! Very impressive I think.

    I’m really struggling to take off the diffuser from the interior ring. I’ve looked at the instructions and it seems pretty simple, but seems to be catching on something. Any ideas?

    Hi, iv bought the same tunnel as yourself , did you have a metal gutter with the kit to install above the top of the frame outside ? Tried ringing velux , closed at 12.30pm today , so can’t find out if I’m missing the part .
    Thanks

      I bought mine from Sterlingbuild.co.uk, not sure if they still have it in stock though.

    hi pal, instructions ask for a 500mm gap between roof rafters, is this necessary as yours seems to be about 400 ish which is what I've got too?

    • @OfficeBoyBuilder
      @OfficeBoyBuilder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey - I think it depends on the size of the roof light. Most rafters are spaced at around 400mm so that would end up fitting in most situations, so it's odd that they're requesting 500mm. It might be worth calling velux to ask.

    • @MegaBambooboy
      @MegaBambooboy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OfficeBoyBuilder thanks for the reply, it's only what's stated on the Lego instructions so I could easily be mistaken. Thanks again, nice vid too.

      @@MegaBambooboy i was just about to ask the same question .. fitting one of these today .. i wonder if the 500 is for vertical battens to support it rather than rafter spacing .. who knows!

    • @MegaBambooboy
      @MegaBambooboy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@williamsdaduk velux stated it's minimum rafter spacing requirements. Mine hasn't leaked and simply installed it with a 500mm box work made from battens for support and squeezed the Flexi tube between the rafters.

    What is the width of your side extension?

    • @OfficeBoyBuilder
      @OfficeBoyBuilder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2.5m width internal room size. Not as much as I would have liked, but I was keen to keep 800mm width in the alleyway for access.

    Camera work made me feel seasick! Didn't actually show anything, just filmed the aftermath, and then to top it all the installation was incomplete because the distance was too long for the hose!
