    Thank you for being one of the first TH-camrs that mentioned the feel of the cover. I noticed the smell and the feel right away. I purchased the mulberry and tweed and was suprised by the smell and then the feel. They are both very smooth and "floopy", but it definitely has a squishy feel to the cover. I will have them in a clear cover, as one of the other commenters mentioned, so I won't be too bothered by it. I also agree that I didn't necessarily like that the print was darker. I enjoyed that the print was lighter. It made me feel better about not necessarily "staying within the lines."

      You are welcome! I am surprised not to hear a bit more about it but it may just not be bothering others. That’s interesting to know the mulberry is very “floopy” too which is a great way to describe it. And yes, very easy to throw a cover on it and still enjoy the design of it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience as well. 💕 I still would buy them next year if they end up the exact same. At least at this point I would. So much can change in a year.

    As far as I understand, the “linen” was just the print style. I think in one of her videos she explains that it’s not an actual linen cover - it’s just printed to make it look that way.

    • @i.am.katiesanders
      @i.am.katiesanders  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, I do remember her saying in her videos not to expect a linen or tweed feel. I honestly thought it would feel like her pink or black colors, or maybe the smooth green one. This was just quite a surprise!

      @@i.am.katiesanders I’m glad you talked about the tactile feel. I am the same way. If it doesn’t feel right I just can’t 🙃 same thing with how books stack, lay, etc. it can be a deal breaker for me too.

    I wouldn't describe it as oily, but the Tweed definitely feels smoother than the Caramel or Mist (pebbled) covers. I suspect it's a tactile difference between the smooth-textured covers vs the pebbled-textured covers. It doesn't particularly bother me, but all of my planners will go in clear covers anyway. The Tweed cover feels just a hair thicker than the Mist.

    • @teresas.5848
      @teresas.5848 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, I think a mistake was made calling the covers Linen and Tweed. It's just meant to describe the color and look, but it's too strong of a reference to the textiles, which have actually nothing to do with the covers themselves.

    • @i.am.katiesanders
      @i.am.katiesanders  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@teresas.5848 I agree. They are great color names and visually look the part, just not what the brain expects although I do remember her saying in one of her videos that they weren’t supposed to feel like those textures. Love the look though and will use a clear cover :)

    Ok so it's not just me. I ordered a tweed and it feels like it has a film on it. I already had a plastic cover from Lauren Phelps Designs ready so it's all good.

      So so interesting! Yes I expected to feel something come off on my hands but doesn’t. Is yours super soft? Like velvety? I keep going back to touch it but since it’s so light in color I am hoping I don’t discolor it with hand oils. I don’t see that being an issue for tweed since it’s darker. I am happy with it but now am wondering if they both feel the same. I am guessing so. Thank you so much for sharing!

    I dont generally get put off by texture, but my first thought when i opened my gray linen was Kathrine at S.I. is going to have backlash with texture sensative people. 😅 I thought it was my brain playing tricks on me, but it reminds me of my waxed canvass products. It is off-putting in a small way to me. As you mentioned, a clear cover will fix the issue.

      @@Saturdays.Script Yes! I think after I posted the video my brain was thinking of waxed canvas. That’s a good way to describe it but then soft. And yes, it’s easily covered. @i.am.katiesanders there's no doubt that it has a strange feel to it. It's not just you! I was giggling during your review because I could tell we had a very similar response to the cover. I actually wasn't going to get a clear cover, but I think it's a must lol

  • @ramblinganna
    @ramblinganna หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Do you think that your issue with the texture is because it looks so much like linen that your brain thinks it will feel like linen rather than the PU leather that is actually is, and so it‘s messing with your senses? I have a Tweed on the way, but it hasn’t left the US yet so no idea when it will arrive to give you a comparison.

    • @i.am.katiesanders
      @i.am.katiesanders  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really good question! I think that’s what I was trying to figure out. Was my brain and experience trying to pull in two different directions. Possibly. I really thought it would feel like a black cover with some tooth to it, like just a little rough and it feels so velvety. I would love to hear what you think when it arrives. Please check back :)

    I ordered the tweed and it also has an oily feel. It doesn’t feel like velvet to me, but feels like an oily rubber. I knew it wouldn’t be fabric but was not at all expecting the initial tactile experience. I’m hoping that with time it will “dry out” and not feel oily. This was my first time ordering from Sterling Ink. I also ordered a planner with the Mulberry cover, which I’m hoping doesn’t have the same feeling. I might just need to get a clear cover.

      @@BlushingMagnolias yes this year’s colors are changing things up. I don’t have a mulberry but from what everyone is saying it feels very smooth and dry. I know she has had comments of textures in the past and I believe black being not liked as much (it never bothered me) that she came out with the really smooth green that can look almost black. Thanks for confirming that you feel it on the tweed as well. I know her clear covers are coming out soon and I think in October if all goes well.
