In this lecture Professor Kristin Beach, MSN, BSN, RN will be discussing Urine Specific Gravity. Urine specific gravity is a laboratory test that shows the concentration of all chemical particles in the urine. The normal range for urine specific gravity is 1.0101 to 1.030. Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories or institutions. Some labs use different measurements or test different samples. The trick is : anything that causes Oliguria causes high specific gravity in addition to glucosuria in diabetes and anything that causes Polyuria and excluding glycosuria in diabetes also causes low specific gravity.

Nope, I still have no idea what it means for health if it’s high or low …….
I run countless times to toilet and my gravity is high ….. doesn’t fit in picture made in video …..
Thank you
They just teach us the number and the test with no theoretical background of it 😊
yeah a lot of the nursing curriculum in the US is very surface level info and students are left with having to look for other resources that can teach these concepts at a beginner level. that's why this channel is so great
Thank you doctor a lot 😊
Simple short and informative
Increased in decreased kidney perfusion, inappropriate ADH secretion , or heart failure.
