EXACTLY! 👏🏾👏🏾💯 I have fine hair too! It can grow long, nice with curls, but It will never be thick. It is what it is.🤷🏽♀️ We gotta embrace what we have and enjoy it! 💕
Coconut oil I have learned is fairly comedogenic, a comedogenic ingredient means that it clogs pores (that includes pores on the scalp as well). This doesn’t always happen quickly, and it can take months of using a comedogenic product before clogging is noticeable. That being said, that might be what was causing you issues with using coconut oil directly on your scalp. I do however believe that coconut oil is an exceptional oil when used on the lengths of the hair as it slows protein loss, helps retain moisture in the hair, strengthens the hair as well as prevent against hygral fatigue (when your hair cuticle is damaged due to excessive moisture entering and exiting the hair cuticle). I ONLY use coconut oil prior to washing my hair whether that be leaving it in overnight with the intent of washing it first thing the next morning (I get the best results if I leave the oil in overnight/8+ hours) and ONLY on the lengths of my hair and not my scalp. I do not like leaving coconut oil in my hair after washing and conditioning it as it can cause my hair to feel dry, be brittle and break. I like to think of coconut oil as a natural strengthening treatment that needs to be used for a a time to fully realize its benefits then shampooed out. I hope this was helpful to someone.
I love your hair. I think it is very pretty. That big chop style was everything. I have fine hair too but it has so many different textures that most time I just have to let it do its own thing. Nice video!!
My 3c hair was thick and curly and past my shoulders in my teens then i did a huge chop and it never grew bk as it was. It breaks easily and has gotten thin and when it grows longer it drops alot due to stress & mild pcos. You are right not many vids for 3c thin hair out there. Thanks for this vid. Looks good
I loved your big chop video with the Marcel Waves. The Atlanta stylist did a great job! Your hair looks great. One cannot increase the number of hairs per square inch on the head, nor its diameter: it's genetics. I have low porosity hair that is also fine and has gotten thinner over the years as I age. I have been relaxing my hair for the past 20+ years and think it is time to give it a break. I used to cut it off every four years or so: not sure why I stopped doing that. It is now breaking off at the hairline, which has never happened. Big chop, here I come!
Omg love this. My hair is exactly how your hair used to be. Every time I get drunk I feel like cutting it myself while crying on the bathroom floor 😂 you make me feel so normal to have thin hair! Thank you!
I agree, I have fine hair too. I can’t be messing with all the products, they really don’t work. I found a simple routine that has been working and my hair is much improved over all the things I put it through in the past.
I have similar hair to yours. I use to want the big dramatic hair, but in reality I have super fine, very soft natural hair that breaks easily. It was stronger and at it's thickest until I bleached and colored (professionally done) it last year. I am headed to do another big chop today. I also have added iron and vitamin D to my diet based on blood work to find out why I have gained so much weight, but I also know I've always had just fine hair.
I have fine hair had it all my life. My mom would always put stuff on my hair to make it "thicker" i am 54 and my hair still ain't thick. Lol I grew up with a complex. Sad I love my natural fine hair. Thank you for sharing.🤗❤
I used to use coconut oil as part of my hot oil treatments, and my scalp would always be so dry and have so much dandruff. When I stopped using it, my scalp improved tremendously too.
Omg I appreciate this video cause I were crochet to get thick big hair. My hair has always been fine. At one point I loved it and then after I had my kids it became more fine 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Fine haired Black girls unite 🙌🏽✋🏽I have the same hair . Its a lot hair on my head and its long ..but individual strands are soooo thin 🤷🏽♀️ It is what it is .You however , are gorgeous gorgeous though . And I love your wig tutorials . New subbie
“Don’t cry for me Argentina” is MY line!🤣🤣 I got a big kick out of hearing you say it because I never really hear anyone say it except for myself. Also, I enjoyed the vid. Everything you said made sense. And you are right about the use of mayonnaise and coconut oil , it reeks havoc on our type of hair. (mineral oil and jojoba oil doesn’t work so well either) Thanks for sharing, I will definitely make sure I do not buy products with the ingredients you mentioned as well.
I love that saying! And I am so happy you confirmed that! I thought I was crazy when I saw my hair getting worse. I was thinking it can’t be Mayo and coconut oil?! my hair is still fine and thin but I am not losing hair anymore.
My hair gets long but it's fine also so I know what you mean. I can use two rollers for the sides. I'm SO serious .and as I age, it's getting thinner and thinner
Dont cry for me Argentina...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂...You are my hair twin..I had the same hair issues just add sensitivity to the blood pressure meds I was on for 8 yrs..Tore my hair out the frame gurl...Its been over a yr since I stopped the meds and lightened up on the SOCIAL MEDIA RECCOMENED hair products ...Gyrlll she is growing back sliwly but surley!!! I live you gurl ...you da TROOOOF...And I love that hair gurllll...
Renae Nae omg a sensitivity to blood pressure medication can tear your hair up too? I didn’t know that. Let me tell you I feel like social media really be hitting the girls with products that aren’t good for our hair. I am so happy your hair is growing back!! And thank you! It feels good to fall in love with my hair again.
I stopped watching TH-cam and trying allllll those products to make my hair thicker and like you, coconut oil had my hair hard, dry and frizzy! My hair texture is like yours except a huge mixture of gray especially the edges so when you were rolling the edges, I could only LOL because I KNOW the fight!!! Still, its the hair GOD gave us so we have to love it!!
What shampoo conditioner you use? I have similar hair type . I also have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp thinning edges and bald spots on the sizes. I was using coconut oil for dry scalp too I stopped . The meds from dermatologist they are not working 😔
@@AlwaysAmeera I know::(( it broke mine fried it... a year later still trying to get it back into shape. My scalp has been off , ever since too. :: I guess everyone is different
@@elizabethtara7658any progress/improvement update? I used coco oil too to give my hair that wet look but then I started noticing a lot of hair loss when showering.. idk what to do should I shave my head or just wait it out? 1yr is a long time :/

Honestly I can relate with this video, people always make me feel bad cuz my hair is not thick, it’s really harsh
Coconut ruined my hair too, it just started breaking off in chunks and bone dry. Realised my hair hates protein but loves silicones

coconut only works as a hair moisturiser for me, but on the scalp it can cause hair loss
