It's also pretty much the only content. Not sure why Eric doesn't do more videos, he's really cut down on content from the early days with his friend from Scotland.
"I am so glad i am not dead " I have this swing thought daily :) I beat cancer and rehab using golf. At least once a round I think that and a crisp long iron can be one of the most gratifying feelings! Proud of you for your 21 years sober! Golf is the only drug anyone needs ;)
Tom - your comment really hit me. I lost my mom to cancer, and glad to hear you kicked that son of a bitch in the face! Keep up the good health and fighting spirit!
@@FUZexHITMANx11 Very sorry for your loss :( I just got my 1st clean PET Scan a few weeks ago. But as anyone who has been touched by this monster know that it is a life long fight. From the pain of loss to the physical repercussions of the treatments it never ends. Rediscovering the game of golf after 15+ years has pushed my recovery farther then me or my doctor could of ever hoped for ! Best of luck to you my friend! Next time ya go out and play a round don't forget to have fun and hit a few good shots ;) because ya know mom is watching
22:00 I watch this for a couple reasons. 1. It’s reassuring watching an amateur play a legitimate Tour track. 2. Erik’s drip never disappoints. It’s just so good.
I watch because golf is calming to me, doesn’t have to be amazing… those amazing rounds and shots come around randomly and that’s what keeps us comin back.
Besides EAL & the actual golf, I watch for the pure beauty of the production value of these videos. The stunning drone shots of these gorgeous courses. The top-shelf graphics (original colourways on the hole info; insanely well-done shot tracers; the reverse "Ace Cam"; the eye of Sauron, etc). The excellent and fitting musical choices. All in stunning 4K. This is the main reason I watch. RGC really captures the beauty of the game in these. Bravo to the team behind it all. 👏✌
I watch your attempt(s) to break 90 for the same reason I go out to the course again after a shitty round. I have to believe it’s possible that today will be better than yesterday. I’ll keep watching as long as you keep putting the great content into the universe.
I watch because I often wonder how different the game is between my local golf club and a tour setup. Loves these Breaking 90 videos! Keep up the good work Eric!
EAL, we watch these because you are the coolest guy in golf! Also, for whatever reason, you make me feel like I'm there hanging out on the course with you. And I like hanging out on every one of these Break 90 vids. Its chill, its fun, its relatable, its connection. Keep them coming please!
We watch the video because the struggle is real. Golf is hard but also reflects life you just need one good shot or one bit of luck to meet you think the outcome will be brighter. Much love from Scotland
Erik, the reason why I love to watch the breaking 90 series is for numerous reasons, but mainly it reminds me of how fun and frustrating golf can be all at the same time. Watching you periodically struggle with certain parts of your game, but continue to strive for good scores regardless is inspiring. I can’t relate to pros, but I can relate to a good golfer who likes to have a good time on the course, but who also takes the game serious enough to always want to play his best. When you chunder it’s hilarious, and when you’re crushing it it’s awesome. Thank you!
Responding to the “why would you watch this video” statement while at that point in the video. I watch because I love seeing someone play well as an amateur. Just played my first tournament and found out that I apparently don’t do as well as my hcp when playing in a tournament. So seeing you out there doing decently well on a difficult course (surrounded by cameras) gives me hope. Doing great EAL. Keep ‘em coming brother.
One of the reasons I love these break 90s (or all of the course vlogs in general) is the escapism factor. Like, I probably won't be able to play high level golf at all of these "exotic" tour level courses all over the country, but I can watch EAL play and have fun and experience it from his unique pov, and for me, that's worth the watch.
Q: Why do you watch this video? A: Something relaxing and enjoyable about watching EAL play a round of golf. 🤷🏻♂️ A(ii) The sheer quality of the production is very satisfying to watch. Keep up the good work.
After a long consideration I came to the conclusion that I watch it solely because it’s relatable. And it makes me wanna get out and enjoy life and play golf! Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
It’s nice to see a golfer I can compare/relate to playing these unbelievable courses that I will never get to play on. Love the show, keep on doing you.
EAL, we watch because you’re playing at a professional venue in tournament conditions from the pro tees. I have zero business doing that but it would still be a dream come true. Love the breaking series, my new favorite TH-cam content
The recurring soundtrack theme during the flyovers reminds me of Bon Jovi’s blaze of glory… the internal battles during a round of golf are just unbelievable. and watching your battles are - don’t get me wrong - very entertaining. and the courses you are able to show us, FANTASTIC!
What an insane contrast between fairway/green and rough. Makes for stunning images that's for sure. Never experienced anything like it in my life so far.
I appreciate that question. I actually just subscribed partially because you asked that question. The reason I’m currently watching this video is I appreciate the slightly longer format golf of every shot with the distances up on screen. I appreciate the small talk to me as well. It’s almost like ASMR but it’s not. I guess it can be. Only other TH-camr I enjoy watching in this slightly longer format is Kyle Berkshire; you’re definitely playing a lot more like the average golfer. Thanks for the content.
Why.... 1) to see unbelievable golf courses at their best 2) to see your interaction with the group 3) high and lows & 4) waiting for those great shots that show up in every round !! - Keep it up Guys
the Breaking 90 series is superb content. In my mind it is a mixture of all of the scenes of The Big Lebowski with Sam Elliot and ESPN rolled up into one intimately delivered performance by EAL. From casual tempo swings to humanistic dives into EAL's sobriety--this is just so real. Keep hating the series, Eric. and I'll keep on loving it.
This is honestly the only reason why I come to this channel. Those other guest content creators just well well let's just say that's the only reason I come to this channel
I watch because I enjoy it for one, also because you’re an everyday player like us and it’s easy to relate to. Plus I can’t wait see you break 90!! I’ll be celebrating too!
I watch because I think some of us fellow self-depricating golf sickos love to get beat up every once in a while by a tough golf course. Sometimes a 90-95 shot round feels more deserved than a 80-85 shot round at an easy ballpark. Add in EAL's charisma and PGA Tour courses that most of us haven't played and you have a great story to watch.
why am i watching this? i;m currently in Ghana, Africa on a 6month internship, surrounded by people i only met on saturday the 19th. golf, and these videos, feel like home. golf is a familiar old friend. looking forward to being rusty when i get home and laughing at the terrible shots again. thanks for your work RGC
I watch this because it’s really amazing to watch someone live their dream, also because you are a much better golfer than me and I hope to play better! Love the videos thank you for what you do.
I am watching this because I have the exact same thought process through a round, it’s beautiful. “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots - but you have to play the ball where it lies” - Bobby Jones
"Why are you watching this?" My answer would be I just finished all the Breaking Series and the Scotland Diaries and loved it all! Plus, I am slowly getting back into golf every since my high school days and enjoy seeing a AUTHENTIC average golfer play and talk about his game from a humbling state of mind. Thank you for all you do!
We enjoy this series so much because you embody most of us. We can generally play golf, but we don't have enough time to invest in order break that next barrier. Double bogeys seem to sneak onto our score cards, but we also sprinkle in some birdies to offset them.
The content is so much more enjoyable to watch when it’s Erik golfing or traveling around, rather than 4 guys off the street nobody knows anything about.
I watch the videos because I love seeing what an average golfer can do on a tour course. It just fascinates me. Last but not least you’re a good dude and I respect that

The reason I wacth is mainly the fact that these courses are so good, but I also love the editing of the videos, like the tracers, or the chart with the yardage, club etc. I also think that the best way to see the potential of a golf course is to actually see someone play it, and I dont mean like a tour pro or something, just an amateur, because then you can actually see how tough the courses actually are, and the strategy behind them

“Here’s a crazy move…” Shot #2 on 9 is the most relatable of the whole first episode, when a planned low baby draw turns into a high flying fade! Love that EAL had that idea and went for it, that’s why we play.
Honestly, I watch this series because you’re attempting to break a course that I’ll never have a chance in heck at. Sure not every swing is on the money, but there’s always that one shot that reminds us why we amateurs play. Plus, the convo is funny and interesting.
EAL, the series is fun to watch because it is REAL and RELATABLE golf. If I wanted to watch someone go 10 under at the Dell Match Play, I’d watch the PGA tour dawg.
Love this All the guys playing their local cc or pitchnputt have zero idea how difficult a pro level course from the tips really is. Used to play client golf at Sawgrass & had to stop because it was so FING difficult. Found a great alternative layout, not designed by Pete Dye, where everyone had fun, cart girls were foxy as all-in the days you could say so aloud-, and the drinks were stiff and free flowing. 👍
Another epic video. EAL back swinging the sticks is what the people want to see. Where those Nike AirMax golf shoes or just some regulars? Either way whole outfit from EAL and the caddy were certified fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥
What a cool course. Looks so expansive and wide open, but the undulations and lies seem to be what gets you. Playing in a “Breaking” series is my dream 🤩
Love this. Played here last summer shot an 86 from a one or two tee boxs shorter. Amazing course. The video doesn’t do the terrain justice…. Ball is rarely if ever on a flat lie
I enjoyed break 90 with others but there is something special about Erik ones... I think it's the pain ... yeah definitely the pain he goes through. Thanks Erik
Why do we like watching these vids Eric? Because PGA golfers make golf look so easy. You remind us that playing a course like this is fucking hard and we can relate more to that. Keep up these vids pls 🙏
I only watch the playing videos that Erik plays himself for this channel, watchable is the perfect adjective. Can't believe I missed him when he came to my local track
EAL, it feels as though you are not enjoying golf as much now. It is almost as though you are feeling the pressure of having to put out this content as though your brand has grown past what you envisioned and you could use some rest and relaxation. Having the amateurs come and try to achieve their goals is a great option or maybe having 1 or 2 of them playing with you so you can both be inspired and also be able to have the pleasure of helping others. I would be happy to be a guinea pig for you ;). As always come to Ontario Canada for a RGC and I would be happy to participate.
Love these videos because as another “OK golfer” it’s interesting to see a tour setup and one of us try to score. Don’t think folks realize how difficult these courses are setup for a test of golf at the highest level. But when things go bad, just blame Pete.
I know EAL hates these vids, but the breaking 90 series is the best content RGC puts out.
Honestly they're probably the best content BECAUSE he hates them. Schadenfreude at its best.
It's also pretty much the only content. Not sure why Eric doesn't do more videos, he's really cut down on content from the early days with his friend from Scotland.

16:52 Ace CAM text reverses looking back towards the tee box. This is the quality editing that the internet just doesn't deserve. Bravo.

I watch you because you are one of the most interesting subscriptions I have on TH-cam, and you play some beautiful courses.
Glad you are back!
Love these videos because as another “OK golfer” it’s interesting to see a tour setup and one of us try to score. Don’t think folks realize how difficult these courses are setup for a test of golf at the highest level. But when things go bad, just blame Pete.
