The crowd would probably have roared after the long wait and expectation. What's the point of having the antidote if you won't use it. Senseless.
No intermission is long enough to run anti-venom! There are things that need to be in place before anti-venom. IV fluids, and cardiac monitoring to start. You also need to run antivenom slowly as the person receiving it can be allergic to it or a component in it. It’s also often more than one bottle needed which are very expensive and must be mixed very carefully and for a specific amount of time. It’s not a take this shot/pill and you’ll be fine. You have to be prepared for anything as you don’t know how someone will react to the drug.

Warren’s onstage death certainly deserves to be told as the five detailed in this excellent video.
I was watching the show that night on my TV. If you look at this video at 15.17 he doesn't look well where he leans forward, it's possible he had a mini-heart-attack at that moment. When he did collapse, for a moment we thought it was part of the act until he said to the blonde woman, "I'm alright" which he wouldn't have needed to say if it was part of the act. When he then fell back so that he was flat out, it was pretty obvious that things were not good. He was actually dead behind the curtain when Gee and Dennis went on. Les Dennis later said that they had to perform whilst Tommy's big shoes were still sticking out from under the curtain.
I’m wondering if Tommy Cooper may have had an aortic dissection - he dropped to the floor so quickly and that kind of heart attack (my mother had one too) seldom has survivors. Other celebs include John Ritter, Carrie Fisher, George Michael and Alan Thicke.
Could have been an aortic aneurysm where the patient usually doesn't make it to hospital alive. Judas Priest guitarist Ritchie Faulkner had an aortic aneurysm on stage but managed to survive.
Not at all. The risk of stopping the show is that hundreds of members of the audience take to the roads or stand around and gawp, seriously clogging-up access for the emergency services. See La Mans 1955.
@KebabMusicLtd The risk of not stopping the show is everyone stands around and watches the person die. Which is what they did. If you really think that makes sense I'm glad my life will never depend on your decision making.
So many of your facts about the death of Tommy Cooper are slightly wrong but I appreciate your attempt to not just use his death as a cheap way to get likes. The one thing I would like to point out is that he did receive immediate medical attention from a doctor who was attending the event but he was unable to revive him or help. The other sad thing is that Dustin Gee who went on next with Les Dennis died in very similar circumstances a few years later. The night that it happened they had agreed to come to my cousin’s birthday party as the neighbour worked for their publicist and they had been invited. We all were disappointed that they didn’t come but of course found out the reason the following day and were shocked by it he was a much younger man.
While some may say it was stupid to refuse an antidote, what should be more upsetting is that this person felt desperate enough for the money to keep going - probably fearing she wouldn’t be paid as well if she had stopped.

It amazes me how things have changed. I grab my mic while holding my bass all the time. Or accidently hit it with my lips while singing and playing (can you imagine getting electrocuted that way?). I don't remember it ever being dangerous. We have ground lifts on our amps, but I only use it if I hear a hum. I know we use 110volts while they use 220 over there, but I don't know if that's the reason or not.
There's a fairly iconic moment where Ian Dury got electrocuted about four times in a couple of seconds by his mic and managed to time it all to the music (Clever Trevor was the song I believe). It's a great moment.

RIP to all that passed away
Refusing anti-venom is probably among the dumbest I have heard, how is your own life less important than finishing the show. Using snakes for a performance like this and the people watching someone to possibly get but sounds very unethical too.
Shocking death for Leslie the guitarist, and a reminder to keep your equipment grounded at all times. Presumably valve (tube) amplifiers were involved, as these carry the high voltages that lead to electrocution.
In 1980 I was in Puerto Rico watching a performance from a circus that got into our capital I think is name was Carl Wallenda, he was walking a rope high up and I saw him plumetted to the ground , thanks God the media was considerate and did not focus on his body on the floor they switched instantly. My parents saw the performance in which Tommy Cooper died. I was on a night out so I didn't see it. the next day my parents told me about it. Tommy was a magician who would do magic tricks that went wrong, it was his personality on stage that would make you laugh. His favourite catch phrase was 'Just like that!'. He always wore a fez during his performances. Tommy Cooper was a British comedian , who has been on British television since I could remember and he was well loved for his comedy.

At first, his fellow actors started laughing, thinking he was joking, but soon they sensed something was wrong. Well, indeed. Coen had suffered a heart attack. It was common in his family.
Same here, I was a child but I remember it well.
Yes, so did I.😢😢
Awful ❤
I’m wondering if Tommy Cooper may have had an aortic dissection - he dropped to the floor so quickly and that kind of heart attack (my mother had one too) seldom has survivors. Other celebs include John Ritter, Carrie Fisher, George Michael and Alan Thicke.
I remember how he died, just like that.
Could have been an aortic aneurysm where the patient usually doesn't make it to hospital alive. Judas Priest guitarist Ritchie Faulkner had an aortic aneurysm on stage but managed to survive.
@@necropink9200 same thing. Dissection is just a fancy word for "split".
I'm no celebrity but I'm on that list soon..
@@bods1 Tacky......
I'm more impressed with Leslie Harvey turning into Jim Morrison 😂
Me too, "People are Strange"...😅
😂😂😂
Good eye. Obviously, bitten by a lizard 😂
So sad that the mother of three felt it necessary to do such a dangerous job....
The snake handler should have just given her the antidote, not ask if she wanted it. But she shouldn't have been dancing with snakes to begin with.
Money is useless when your dead.
Tomy copper dieing to the sound of laughter is as fitting as it is disturbing.
Poor Irma wasn’t too bright.
Not dumb, just poor. We don't have security..but...we got antivenom on hand. Yeah right
@@glendaseguin5197 poor AND dumb.
Unbelievable that shows weren't stopped to get performers immediate help. Barbaric.
@@KebabMusicLtd oh bullshit have some decency
The Show must go on !
It's VERY SAD that
" ONLY AFTER " someone's DEATH ... Peoples starts to focus on safety concerns SERIOUSLY ... !!!!
😰😢☹️
She might not have known the snake was venomous? Uhh…shouldn’t that be something to find out before preforming with it?!😳
So many of your facts about the death of Tommy Cooper are slightly wrong but I appreciate your attempt to not just use his death as a cheap way to get likes.
Nope , she knew it’d kill her, she refused the antidote , there’s no excuse or anything.
Sid James Also died on stage during a live performance in 1976, he too was 62 years old and also died of a heart attack.
Didn't he ironically die in a bed, on stage? 🤔
@@ianhill4585 No, he was sitting on a couch! Co star Olga Lowe: 'I came on stage, said my line & he replied. Then I sat on the sofa with him, said my next line and he didn’t answer. His head had slumped and his eyes had gone back into his head'. 😢

I'm sorry but it is so unnecessary to show Judas hang himself like that, you can do ANYTHING else or even have a rock for him to step on but why something that could backfire like THAT. They could have just shown a shadow silhouette
Yep, these days productions of Jesus Christ Superstar for example have new creative ways to show Judas’ death that don’t risk the actors
Hindsight is always 20/20😢
Good point.
TURN IT OFF!
Play with highly venomous snakes for an extra 5 bucks?? That's an expensive mistake.
The Death of Tommy Cooper is amazingly doubly tragic... Only a few years after, I believe it was his Brother, I may be wrong... Was performing the same act in Tribute to Tommy - And he too suffered a fatal Heart Attack at the same point in the act! This time even though people were aware this was not part of the routine and worked quickly... They were unable to save him.
That's really tragic 2 brothers died doing the same act. Their poor family suffered 2 brother's die at the same time! 😢
@@mamalillycat8756 Not the same time, but sadly the exact same way... Now of course when this happened, most "News" came via main stream media and we have to consider that they may have "Exaggerated" the events... But he was indeed performing a Tribute to Tommy when he too had a Heart Attack... Both dying on stage, In teh middle of a performance... Truly shocking!
Irma’s life was not cut short by the snakebite, but her refusal to take the antidote.
I wouldn't call dying 17 days after "dying on stage".
He was dead, they artificially kept the body working.
We all laughed when Tommy died on stage as we thought it was part of the show at first..
I didn't laugh. I was horrified. I knew he had died.😢😢
I remember watching Tommy Cooper that night as a child with my mum dad and 2 sisters. We all thought it was part of the act due to the beautiful woman on stage with him, it’s something he’s done before but not as bad. His slow huffs he did didn’t hit me till I was older and knew he was dying right there and then and that you could hear the death rattle. RIP the Legend Tommy Cooper, and all those performers.
Same - I remember watching with my parents too. I read somewhere that his family were there backstage and also thought it was just part of the act.
Tragic loss of Tommy Cooper....Eric Morecambe was the same year...!!!...2024 and so many Stars gone....Those of us left..have lost our Heroes...!!!!!!!
Oh kop on to yourself Peter.
A mother of three refused anti venom till she finished her stint? That’s selfish and stupid ,very stupid 😮
I just hope the snake doesn't get in trouble for that. Her death was entirely her fault
Why wasn't an ambulance called before the other act was over???? Tommy Cooper was disrespected
Supposedly, Tommy loved to do weird things onstage. The audience thought he was acting....😓
I think he was dead when he hit the floor but certainly when he was taken by the ambulance crew.
#5 is always so creepy and nauseating to see... that's very-likely how you will go right there too.. slumping over all the sudden and making odd sounds and physically heaving while your heart muscle charlie-horses up and you feel like Satan is drilling a hole in your chest w a gigantic drill bit... you can't breathe and silent terror overwhelms you as you realize what's happening... that this is it, forever. IF YOU'RE LUCKY, all you can do is stare at the HORRIFIED faces of others. If not, you're all alone and it takes 2 days for you to fully pass, as you weave in and out of pain and consciousness and various strokes, etc.
They said my grandma had been laying in the shower for a week when they found her w the shower running on her... freaked me TF out. A WEEK?! They also said, because she only had a stroke, she was prob not dead for a long while and slowly died stuck.
ok the singer was dumb... WHY would you use a cobra. i dont believe sshe didnt know either
But you don't believe because you don't want to believe. If she had danced with snakes before and never come to any harm, why would she think that one would be any different.
It's sexploitation, but not unlike a lot of sexploitation that take place in many cities around the world.
@@KebabMusicLtd its not that I dont want to believe, I just can't see anyone doing something like this knowing its a deadly snake but thinking they won't be harmed ever. People know these snakes are deadly, it's burned into your mind from childhood. I know that sex sells and that snakes are considered "exotic and erotic" but normally people use nonvenomous or venomoid snakes so shit like this don't happen.. That's Jimmy Morrison lying down.
This narrator sounds just like Johnny Cash.
🤠
Bahaha! He does!!
I think he sounds more like Sam Elliot from Mask,Roadhouse, etc.
So many people saying Irma was stupid, that she earned a Darwin Award. I'm betting those are Americans. They have never been to Indonesia. She had to shelter, feed & clothe 3 children on $25 a Week!!! The Math is $1,300 a YEAR before Taxes! When your children are Hungry and it is down to you to not get fired and to finish the show with a happy audience... well, she did what she thought was best. She was likely only in school a few years. No one to help and with other girls eager to be on that stage if she left for even 5 minutes the Audience might have demanded refunds.
Of course she should have taken the Anti/vemon! She was no Rocket Scientist and she might have been in shock as they had not bitten her before. Desperate people do desperate things. She certainly did not plan to die. Nobody does that. She just was young and dumb and in dire need of getting her Salary. Devoted Mom's will sacrifice any discomfort to feed their children no matter what. It is more sad than anything that her Boss did not Insist. So if he said "The Show must go on!" she did as she was told.
The lesson to take away….never refuse medicine to prevent death from king cobra.
You should have included the deaths of the famous acrobats of The Flying Wellandas who died during performances. In 1963 Yetta Wallenda fell 50 feet to her death after fainting. Richard Guzman was elecrocuted after touching a live wire in the rigging in 1972 and in 1978 Karl Wallenda died while walking a tightrope between the towers of a hotel.
The photo at 9.41 is of Jim Morrison lol 😂
So she was vomiting and dancing and performing really? Why? Nobody takes her to hospital?
Health and safety must come before entertainment and money
Who preforms with any animal that has to have it's mouth ducked taped shut? I don't care if it isn't cute, that is still horrible. Sounds like she got karma for torturing animals in the first place
It seems Tiago had enemies he didn't know he had......with friends like those......
Dick Shawn died on stage like Tommy. Again everyone thought it was just him goofing, but it became clear after some uncomfortable laughter that he was gone. He couldn't have a better tribute. He died doing what he was born to do. A gift to us all.😇

Irma was suicidal. No one is that stupid.
I died on stage once, the audience thought I was shite.
Irma probably thought she wanted to continue her performance to show her audience how dedicated to her performance she was but instead she treated her audience the absolute trauma of her death. It’s ridiculous to think she didn’t know the snake was venomous. More likely she either thought the snake’s venom was not that dangerous or she thought it was so venomous that she would die with or without the antidote.
I'm an old fucker and have more than a few memories of Shure Vocal master PAs lighting me up off my 71 SVT. Glad I wasn't in England kissing 220v.
@@Horsefingerandthetaintwrights It just amazes me that something that's always seemed so safe to me used to be so deadly. 71 SVT? I'm jealous!
There's a fairly iconic moment where Ian Dury got electrocuted about four times in a couple of seconds by his mic and managed to time it all to the music (Clever Trevor was the song I believe). It's a great moment.

Refusing anti-venom is probably among the dumbest I have heard, how is your own life less important than finishing the show. Maybe she didn't know or understand how dangerous the snake was but then she should not have been performing with snakes, dumb and risky. Using snakes for a performance like this and the people watching someone to possibly get but sounds very unethical too.
The whole situation with the venomous snake was a tragedy waiting to happen.
So excited!!! ❤😊
Now Irma….
The snake death on stage definetly deserves a Darwin Award.
Tommy Cooper was brilliant. I loved him when I was a kid.
I remember the last one, everyone was laughing kinda not knowing what else to do.
I was shocked never forgot that day.
Les Harvey was electrocuted during a sound check [not the main performance] at the Top Rank Ballroom in Swansea Wales by microphone that was not grounded on May 3 1972 - He was 27yrs young and joined the 27 Club
Also don’t forget about Tiny Tim-RIP

In November 1997, Dutch actor Coen van Vrijberghe De Koning (Coen from Freemountains The King) was recording a scene for the series Flodder, a comedy about an antisocial family living in a posh neighbourhood. He would be (supposedly) struck by a car. But instead of standing up and walking away after being "struck", he remained motionless on the bonnet. At first, his fellow actors started laughing, thinking he was joking, but soon they sensed something was wrong. Well, indeed. Coen had suffered a heart attack. It was common in his family. It happened 3 days after his 47th birthday.
