Look at it this way, maybe God gave us porn so we can "get it out of our system" and not have to go out a commit adultery with a real person.

I've been in your situation for 20 years. Every single day becoming more and more convinced that God was just a lie people tell to each other to comfort themselves from the inevitable truth of death. Fueled by sin, entourage and my own pride, I thought science gives all the answers, so there's no need for God. Until one day I found myself feeling guilt towards a sin. It didn't affect anybody, no one knew about it, it was "harmless" in my atheist, yet not totally immoral mind. And yet, I felt guilt...And I got intrigued...Why do I feel guilty? Where does this feeling come from? My mind tells me it's ok, there's no one else who sees me or is affected by my actions, and yet I feel guilty. The following days I asked God for a sign and He responded to my prayer and today I'm a newborn, saved Christian.
Science doesn't explain guilt. Our emotions are a product of random mixed chemicals and neural impulses that have been adapted through evolution as a survival mechanism to meet a survival need. That's their worldview... That we all came into existence through pure randomness with no cause at all. We came from nothing. And then something presumably exploded from that nothing. And from the resulted rocks and unimaginable amounts of heat, force and radiation, the perfect conditions for life were created. And then from those rocks, life appeared. And then we all evolved from primordial slime. You tell me that faith means there is no evidence, but I tell you that you are way more faithful than I am if you believe all that.
Don't trust in something just because it sounds smart and some people say it's true. Think with your own mind, search for yourself, but be weary. If you're wrong, eternal suffering is awaiting for you. Is it worth the risk? Give God a chance to give you another chance. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Pray for Him. I will pray for you.

Exactly! This is an everyday battle and not just with sexual sin but other 'minor' sins as well which could lead you to hell.

The most important thing to understand is that GOD CAN BE TRUSTED to preserve His word for every generation forever as He promises us in Psalms 12:6-7 and you do not need men to teach you.

I prayed a long time to know what the truth was, because over the years I grew increasingly confused, frustrated, misguided and so on.. But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved, etc, ...maybe something would give. But nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short - my whole Christian life was that way until recently. (powerless) God has since saved me through genuine faith alone in Jesus Christ and now my labouring has finally ceased and I share in the Lords light burden and easy yoke. I’m born again of the Spirit.
I really hope this reaches somebody. If this is you... honestly, please look into what I’m saying. God is rich in mercy and His patience is unmatched. He's been drawing me for a long time. Maybe He’s drawing you too and this is the message you needed.

It’s imperative to understand that the av1611 is much different than the 1769 KJV that most believe is the true 1611 but is not. The KJV only movement doesn’t use the authorized version of 1611 either.
This is the bible that Rome has been trying to destroy and cast doubt on since its inception. Everything, from the gun powder plot to false rumours of King James being gay. As a single Christian, I have had seasons of darkness and fornication and each time my life fell apart. Loneliness and depression returned like a tsunami; I wanted my lust more than God, I felt guilty and erratic and insatiable at the same time. Yet, I always feel light and content with the Lord when I am chaste. I felt like I lost my intimacy with the Lord, even after repentance. But healing takes time. God slowly changes the will so deep down you actually WANT healing. Please don't stop fighting everyone. Start with one day without porn, and if you make it, thank God for the victory. Then aim for 2 days. Your breakthrough will come. As a fornicator, I know I need to avoid the initial situations of temptation. Even a text message with subtle innuendo could set me off. But God did not design our bodies to be made like rams in heat, needing daily release. Think of ancient monks etc. The body can obey the mind with spiritual training. You are not an exception. It can be done. Arousal begins in the mind. Our brain chemistry has changed because of the onslaught of pornography in our culture. It is hard, but not impossible. Just keep choosing alternatives- avoid, where possible, your triggers- even a normal movie with raunchy sex scene is not going to help a brain that is quickly wired to arousal. Stay away from sexually-charged music videos, friends who use innuendo in their conversations etc. You can't expect God to take away your addiction if you don't take responsibility for the small things around you. Flee from sin. Whatever that means for you personally. Sex is everywhere. But God is bigger. And he can fill your heart so much that illicit sex has no room anymore.

TheTruth IsViral I recommend to not put masturbation above God, even when you have the strongest urge to. For “you shall have no other Gods before me” in exodus 20:3. You may be questioning why I am quoting this verse out of all of them. I am bringing this verse in because of what the word “gods” meant in the commandment. It means not just literal idols but things you put above God and things you value more than him. There could also be certain things that are making you have such lust and desire to masturbate. And Jesus saids “If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown in hell.” Matthew 5:29. So if there are certain things that make you lust, get rid of them. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13. I will pray for you that you may not lust and masturbate, for once you do it, it is hard to turn back. Just like drugs, smoking and alcohol, they can be very addictive. Satan creates a stronghold when addiction kicks in. And I will also pray for you that you may not doubt God and his mighty power and word and everlasting gospel and counter your temptation, that God may destroy satan’s stronghold in you.

As a struggling Christian who wrestles w/ sin in terms of watching pornography off and on I feel it is VERY unhelpful when ppl say "confess your sin to God and turn away from it" as if someone like me will read that and decide "Hmmmm ok your right. That helped and I'll never do it again". Smh We seriously should stop telling ppl these one liners as if it is helping. It only frustrates someone like me looking for practical steps to fight this temptation each time it pops up

There is power in the name of Jesus, my dear friends. Pray when temptation is knocking. We cannot do this battle alone. Flee from temptation. Do not wrestle with it. We are told to FLEE.
And pray for one another, as we all face temptation........all of us............Encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ by letting them know you love them and they are not alone. Too many times we think we are alone in our struggles.

Please see the videos in the *_"Be Set Free From Sin"_* section on my channel for help. Take some time to understand well the way you need to approach God. Your obedience to God out of love for God (John 14:15) is the key to your deliverance from any sin that you are bound in (Hebrews 5:9).

Keep trying. Repentance is what he needs. Keep asking him to change your heart so it is tender towards him, pray fast and immerse yourself in the lord. As long as you really want to change and don't make peace with sin you are saved. Remember he wants what's best for us and is faithful.
This will sound crazy and simplistic...it is entirely biblical. ..but Jesus already forgave you of every sin past present and future. God doesn't even remember them nor any other you will commit. Heb 10 (please read entire chapter) says jesus blood cleanses you from a guilty conscience.
When you finally get THAT...and stop trying to stop...God will take this sin from you.

I had sex n pornographic addiction. From 13 till 19. At 19 i started to have faith due to depression. I stopped masturbating for 7 days then it stopped. 3 months later, i stopped again for 21 days. It was on n off. Im 22 now and i have stopped sex n masturbation for 9 months. Proud to be a child of God
Me too I have been struggling since 12. And everyday it haunted me. Not feeling like I really am saved having an on and off relationship with god. It made be feel hopeless and abandoned. I jus didn't have the willpower to do it. But now I just went a week without doing anything. I failed today and it made me feel guilty but more faithful somehow. Cause now I know I can go longer and longer possibly stop doing it from now on. Its babysteps as you say. I now believe I can go longer now.
Draven Muskego always keep God in your mind. Challenge yourself to always be better! A day will come when you think you will no longer needed. Trust me. I was a sex addict but I stopped and repent and now all the girls chase me around 😂 keep praying and challenge yourself. The devil will test you and surely God wants to see your faith in Him. All sins, sexual or not, come down to one thing, and it's this: how much more do you want to love Christ than anything else in this world? Sin is not a disciplinary issue as much as it is a heart issue. Focus on loving the lord literally more than your life, your pleasures, your goals. When someone is in love, nothing can distract them.

Chistoso Mike I would say start by reading the gospel.. Maybe try to find a church. But if you don't know God, and haven't encountered HIS love yet... simply speak to Him. Reach out in prayer to Him, close your eyes and believe that He is who He says He is. Believe that He loved you enough to die. Believe that He made every beautiful thing you see in this world. That His mercy is new every morning. That He saves those who cry out to Him. He has been there with you since you were conceived, He knit you together in the womb. He has been beside you every day of your life, speaking love over you, waiting for you to return His call. Speak to Him.

I prayed a long time to know what the truth was, because over the years I grew increasingly confused, frustrated, misguided and so on.. But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved, etc, ...maybe something would give. But nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short - my whole Christian life was that way until recently. (powerless) God has since saved me through genuine faith alone in Jesus Christ and now my labouring has finally ceased and I share in the Lords light burden and easy yoke. I’m born again of the Spirit.
I really hope this reaches somebody. If this is you... honestly, please look into what I’m saying. God is rich in mercy and His patience is unmatched. He's been drawing me for a long time. Maybe He’s drawing you too and this is the message you needed.

I used to struggle with sexual sin! I was on dating apps after a divorce and when it was revealed to me that this was adultery on my exhusband and adulterers cannot go to heaven, I cried and cried and finally kind of said “Fine, God. If you confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior with your mouth and believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior with your heart then you ARE saved! There is only one unforgivable sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. We are not perfect and God is well aware of our weaknesses and shortcomings. This is why God sent His only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus has already atoned for our sins on the cross. When we pass through the gates of Heaven we do so on His grace - not ours! So dont listen to Satan when he tells you that our sins are unforgivable.

I had this addiction for over 40 years. I thought I was done and fell one more time. I was sick with myself. I told God I would rather starve to death then continue in this bondage and did a 5 day water fast. God blessed me beyond measure. Not only am I now free for the 1st time but I amd closer to God then I ever though imaginable. I feel for the 1st time I truly understand his love and mercy for me which make me love him more then I thought was possible.

I'm a teenager. My problem is masturbation. I've been a stuck on it for about one year. All my friends at school say it's normal. I'm a Christian, so God has given me eyes to see that it is a sin. But it is so addicting I can't go a day without it. The most I've gone with help is 3 days. I need help. The funny thing is I see this sin and I know it's wrong. I've gotten angry at God for why he has let me fall into this sin. I think I know what my problem is. When I sin I get discouraged and I tend to not pray. Then I get mad and say a prayer every now and then. That's not the way to live. Prayer must be every day to battle these sins. Correct me if I'm wrong. But it's so hard to fall into guilt. Please let me know if you have been through a similar situation.

WARNING LONG POST, but I felt compelled to write it because I relate alot.
I experience similar things, but after much searching, maybe this may or may not apply to you, but for me, masturbation is the sin I fall to when I already commit other 'subtle' sins. You are so right about prayer. Neglecting prayer, worship and bible reading (eating spiritual food), makes me spiritually weak and dry, then more busyness kicks in, you're weary and tired, because you haven't prayed to God your heart is not agile to respond to Him, all the while I become a softer and softer target for Satan.
When I'm finally offguard, I plunge into the sin, usually unable to fight it but knowing its sin, because my spiritual stamina is depleted. At first I would stay feeling condemned for a long time. I was punishing myself, thinking I had a high view of God's holiness, that it was a righteous response. But God told me in those moments, I have a low view for the power of the gospel. Later, when I fall into this same sin, I learn to bounce back into repentance faster. I became more discerning of Satan's condemnations vs the Spirit's convictions.
You can't clean up yourself and come to God. In a way my pastor said if I am immediately healed from it, I would become a religious snob, puffed up with pride thinking it was by my own strength, which is in a way just as bad as sexual sin.
Its a war. My mistake is also not actively defending myself daily. In a war, soldiers don't laze around until they see an enemy, where they are off guard when the situation is safe, but fumble for their weapon when its already too late. The secret really is being ready before you see the enemy in sight. A proper soldier has his sword and bow before he sees the enemy ready to attack. Easier said than done... That means, with or without temptation in sight, you already anticipate that it might come.
How do computer programs get cleaned? The files are not just deleted, new code is written, in this case, feeding yourself with the word. If you don't eat you die, same principle spiritually, which I admit, the reality only have just set in in the last few months over 5 years of battling this.
Memorizing key verses is also vital. Proclaiming certain truths such as these help: I am the child of the living God, I belong to Jesus Christ, I have been buried and raised again with Christ, sin has no dominion over me. David said that he keeps his ways pure by storing the word in his heart. The words that will save you are not the words you read when you're looking for a verse in the bible, but words that have become alive in your heart. Although, by His Grace, fumbling throught the bible not knowing which verse to pull up can work but usually its too late.
Then (depending on your theology, but works every time for me I can't deny it) I say, in the power of the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus I break the power of:
lust, fornication, sexual immorality, ungodly fleshly desires, spirits of addiction, homosexuality (yes I also include this)
and I cast them out. I have crucified my flesh at the foot of the cross.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW POWERFUL IT IS, SOMETIMES YOU ARE LITERALLY OVERCOME WITH SUCH PEACE YOU FORGET YOU WERE EVER TEMPTED. LIKE ITS LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!. But if you're waiting to be tempted, this prayer won't work. I have been in a situation where I know all these words but unable to utter them because I already flirted around with temptation.
But masturbation is not the root sin, are you dissatisfied or bitter with your life? Where there is much dissatisfaction in life, with God, you are most vulnerable, again, easier said than done. Over the years I've learned that the culprit is really...neglecting time with Him, neglecting doing things for the kingdom, being Idle (this is huge one).
One time, I haven't masturbated in a long time, and suddenly something happens in my family and I got angry with someone, I ended up falling into it again. If you quit Porn and Masturbation but make peace with anger or not being satisfied with God, its no good at all.
Where I fell into it after 3 days, becomes months, then half a year. But I admit, something happened in my life that I ended up falling into it now its like...once every month, because I finally realize, there's a root sin I'm not dealing with.
Don't lose hope brother! The gospel is power, the spirit raised Jesus from the dead can save you. Don't ask God to take away temptation, ask for God's Strength to fill you. Use your grace given authority to trample over the power of the enemies. Satan's lie is to say that you don't have power yet unless you ask God. If you're born again, you have authority.
A wise man said, Joy precedes obedience not the other way around. I think spending time reading on God's promises for you, meditating on His greatness and awesomeness is the way before any act of discipline.
Also, just a word of warning, because the consequences of this sin are not as visible and damaging as commiting adultery with another person, because you do it secretly, and then after that, no one knows about it but you and God, sometimes I underestimate the consequence and fall into it again, because I don't experience fatal consequences, its a false sense of security. However I would feel the consequence days later, where I have difficulty praying, or praying for others, or doing anything.
Recently though, I've fallen into it again after a long time of not doing it. 2 days later I was struck with the most pain I had in my life (not kidding) in my stomach/womb area. I thought to call my mom to take me to the doctor, but she wouldn't pick up for a long time, in the back of my mind I thought, I was desperate because it was excruciating, I couldn't get up. So I called one of my church leader, had her pray over me, break the powers of darkness and satan. MIRACULOUSLY, THE PAIN WAS GONE in an instant, this was after I cast out spirits of addiction and lust. After that, I guess it was like being bathed in cold water. God still loves me if I can fight it. I hope you don't come to that point. Better experience God's discipline through physical pain rather than having no ability to repent....BETTER THAN HELL OF COURSE. In that moment I thought, man, if this was hell, the pain wouldn't stop. But in all that, God showed mercy and love. Now I'm somewhat more...vigilant, only by His Grace, but the thing is, when you start to actively declare war on this sin, Satan will be like: OH BRING IT ON! But no fear, God is greater!

God has created you to have natural sexual desires and there is nothing wrong with them, but heart purity and self-control in your thoughts and actions are a must (Matthew 5:8, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27). God calls us to love from a pure heart (see 1 Timothy 1:5, James 4:8, Isaiah 1:16-20). That will eliminate lust that makes one look at another person as a sex object. And that is possible with Jesus, but we need to not only believe it but also agree 100% with him to go in that direction. What God's grace promises to his servants who live for Him is "life and peace" (Romans 8:6), not a losing battle with natural urges and impure thoughts that result in sin certainly.
You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts and don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. When thoughts come to you that you don't want to entertain, remind yourself of what will keep you focused on pursuing godliness (Philippians 4:8, Psalm 119:11, 2 Timothy 2:22).
If you realize that you are trapped in sin and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Peter 4:1). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you.
Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of a new life that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset.

21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance],✷ receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
✷Repentance means you turn from disobedience to God to obedience to God, then you continue on a path of faithful obedience to God, which is what faith is about-not sinning/deliberately disobeying God (the opposite).

✷The "dead works" are works of the flesh: Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Colossians 3:5-10, Ephesians 5:3-5, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15. They should cease for a Christian who is following Jesus. The wrong focus will lead to wrong choices of committing those sins that lead to death (1 John 5:16-18). That is what something like watching pornography is part of. It is feeding the flesh with the sin it wants.
When you receive the Holy Spirit, then you can live/walk/be led by the Spirit:

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
A person needs to get saved first of all and take exhortations like these seriously:
Galatians 6:7-8
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
So, obedience to God is the key, starting with genuine repentance.

I grew up in a Christian family. I loved God my whole life. At 16 I started to experience God daily and talked with him 24/7. I worshiped in my room alone every night for almost a year. I was completely committed to him and he changed my heart and mind. The year following, sin slowly crept in. In the past I had struggled with porn but always repented and was really trying to stop. Slowly I fell into sexual sin and it snowballed over a few years. I went into deep depression and doubted God’s existence. I never knew it would go that far. I’ve read Hebrews and I’m freaked out. Please pray for me and any encouragement would be appreciated. There’s a lot more to my story but kept it short for this.

I struggled with pornography for a long time. One night I asked the Lord "Why is it so hard for me to be free of this?" in the stillness of my heart the Lord answered me and said "You're struggling because you're trying to get free on your own strength and you're not trusting me to set you free". I saw a vision of Jesus on the cross and me, bound with chains, kneeling at the foot of the cross. The blood of Jesus ran down and dropped onto the chains and they broke into pieces. I unfortunately did watch porn again a couple times after that encounter with the Lord but I finally gave it all to the Lord and have been free ever since!

If you are in 100% agreement with God about doing his will for the rest of your life, you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 6:1-2, Romans 6:11): that is how you will be set free from sin. If you are dead to sin, then you will be walking in freedom and overcoming sins by the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). That is different from being in a constant battle. You can be once and for all victorious in Jesus.
It is important that you answer God's call to repentance the way the Bible teaches. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. Sometimes i stumble into sexual sin and even though i pray for forgivness, I just feel condemned and fearful... I think i may love God and am grateful for him dying for me and I accept him, but I dont feel very convcited.
My repentance doesnt feel very genuine or heartbroken over my sin and its really scary. I pray and beg God to give me new affections for him and to soften my heart and to give me affirmation of salvation, but still I just feel scared and Im afraid Gods going to give up and im going to hell.

My scenario seems to be the same as yours. We must come to the point to where we don’t trust in our own abilities when dealing with this. I believe by scripture that habitually sinning is a sign of being lost. It’s scriptural no matter what people say. Which is scary. i couldnt have written what you wrote any differently if i tried. thats exactly how i feel. i ended up in lots of relationships since i got saved. why? well i struggled with fitting in with fellowship, so my walk took a nosedive. i always knew the truth though...and sort of thought 'oh well i will sort this out later' which just never happened. that is until a total disaster a few years ago. woman i knew took her own life and that just totally wrecked me. havent fooled about since. i wasnt the cause of what she did, but i wasnt in a place to help...not sinning the way i was. the whole thing has really screwed me up...but looking back at the time she died i could so easily have been implicated...so 'someone' was watching over me. i still struggle, i am only human. approaching middle age i am still single and have no family...nothing to show for my life. often wonder that if only i had watched me walk years ago, i might have been blessed with a wife and children? i dont know. for those just starting out in the Lord? DONT MESS AROUND WITH UNMARRIED SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS! its not worth it...at all.
I can answer this. The enemy will try to even after you have been forgiven, beat you over top of your head so that you will fall again for it and not choose the grace of God you already been given. It seems like if you agree with condemnation or guilt dwelling, you will overpower the sin. But that's a lie from the pit of Hell and you need to stop agreeing with it until it goes away. When you do that that spirit will stick around less and less. But you, be encouraged because you are overpowerig the world :)

I too had this problem for two decades,but I've now overcome this and it's not easy to just quit. One can not do it alone without the help of God.Through prayer and devoting a great deal of time reading the Bible I'm managing the addiction that kept me away from the Holy Spirit. I will say in my experience the first 30 days were difficult,because I was experiencing withdrawals and temptations at high levels. Afterwards, I took it one day at a time by keeping my self occupied in bible reading,limited Internet and getting out of the house more often. Do not expect with the snap of a finger you'll overcome the addiction of pornography overnight, because it won't happen and you'll be disappointed. God still heals and answers prayers like he did in biblical times, I know he answered mine.

I have been struggling with this for over 20 years. Sometimes i can go months without porn, masturbation or ejaculation but its a daily sin because i think of it everyday. Im praying and reading the Bible but it just keeps coming back all the time. Lying and stealing is nothing compared to this addiction. Anger and guilt and depression always comes and goes with it.

I struggle with the same, the thoughts keep flashing and the images keep flashing in my eye, and it scares me. I have fasted, prayed, cried, made a vow etc and I sometimes go for months without the thoughts but eventually I seem to fall.

The greater challenge is do you believe that God still loves you in spite of your “sin”. That is what God is more concerned about. This love will constrain you to walk in purity.

So basically he says: "If you sin enough God will leave you and you never know when. You need to pull yourself together"... people, this is preaching from the Devil himself! The Bible says “all sins will be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” what this means is when you sin so much that you become unable to feel the Holy Spirit.. And never repent. Then you die. Then it is over. I didn’t watch this video because of the comments I see a lot of people saying that he said there’s a certain cut off point to Gods forgiveness ? When you sin for a long period of time n be comfortable with it you lose your salvation. Not forever but it won't be there when you look for it. Here's a good example salvation is like the top of a mountain when you constantly sin you fall all the way to the bottom. In order to regain that salvation you have a long climb to the top. This means to fully repent, abandon ALL your earthly flesh desires. Give your entire life to Christ n you can obtain it again. It'll be extremely difficult but it's defenitely worth it

God casting Adam and Eve from the garden was a blessing. (Gen 3:22) Eating of the tree of life and living in a sinful state forever would have been horrific. Also when God spoke to Cain (Gen 4:9) Cain did not seemed surprised, but more like it was a normality to have God speak to Him.. all this was after the fall.

yes, its true. I should know...having gotten into a lot of disasters. The real danger (apart from bringing a new life into this world) is you can get lured into a very nasty Trap. The darkness of this world wants to kill you off, spritually if not physically. I know this from terrible experience, one very fateful weekend could have gotten a LOT worse...I am convinced Someone had my back. I havent fooled around since (its almost 5 years now) what I am saying is..you fool about, you are playing russian roulette. God will have seen all manner of Sin, stuff that non of us can even imagine. If Christ died for it all...it was ALL.
This question gave me some flashbacks of my long addiction and made me cry and glorify Jesus one more time for His deliverance! I was bound in these sins and choosed them more than God. I was so many times in depression because of this, and there was no hope that i ever, ever will be free from this and be saved. Many times was weighting either to kill myself so not to sin and be punished more or to remain alive, maybe God will give me grace and mercy. And praise God Jesus! He delivered me from these sins!!
And I think the best what we can do is to cry out to God for help, to fast showing that you really mean it more than food and water, to know His beauty more and more and His promises and His character so He will be more valuable in our eyes than the sin.
And for some guys that can be the case that you need to get married. Paul said about this in 1 Cor 7:9

Why he said to get married but not looking for freedom not to sin while being single? Because I think that you are functioning normal and for you it's not given this gift to live alone but you need to get married. And until you do that you will strugle with this. And all this I think is again because of our blindness to see God more beautiful than the sin which i think is the most wicked thing going on in the world. So get married , and if in marriage ano other lust sin appears that means you need freedom.
For me it was that when I got married with God's grace and freedom all those sexual sins fade away. And that's God's grace and mercy. And don't strugele anymore with these, BUT I need to be all the time on guard what I see, where do I look and all the time to avoid sinful imagination, all the time to avoid those people that are dressed this way that may start this sinful imagination, and that is sad that our society is full of things that stimulates sexual imagination. (Magazines, books, clips, movies, people the way they dress and so on) but that's the battle and God promissed us not to be tempted more than we are able to endure but prepared the escape way in all temptations and Jesus said, pray not to enter the temptation and I understand to pray more if we entered temptation, also to fast as Jesus fast when He was tempted so we can manipulate the source of our temptation which is our flesh and to meditate on God's word in temptations and use it as Jesus used the word of God.

I've struggled with this last year and I've been praying every day non-stop (since March of this year) and reading God's words it's been almost a month and I rarely had any thought about sexual sin, more like I lost interest in those things. God brought me out of darkness and He will bring you out as well! Just have faith, do God's work, and obey His commands! Sometimes I do feel temptation but I know that's only my flesh wanting it and I run back to God and seek His help and forgiveness.

I have seen the worst kinds of pornography. The WORST kinds. I've had sexual problems and sin and confusion throughout my childhood and into early adulthood affecting not only myself, but family members and division between the home. I've fought this and still fighting to this day. Me and my girlfriend live together, we sleep in the same bed and do not have sex. We keep our thoughts pure, and keep our mind, body, and spirit on God. Because Jesus Saved me and us. that's all that matters now. No one is Good. No not one. Only God. We are ALL sinners. And I am one of the worst my friends reading this. But even someone so stuck like I was can even be saved. PRAISE GOD!
Same! I looked at the worst kinds, unspeakable kinds and God was so great merciful saved me anyway. No one deserves it but I felt particularly unworthy. In truth I was and am. But he has and is helping me better. I've repented from porn and from excuses, another sin I had badly. He's so great even messed up people like most that other sinners would look at as hopeless he gave and gives hope. That hope is Jesus. Hope to live for him not our base desires and be saved not from our works, but from faith, repentance and his righteousness and mercy.

@BradynLee yeah I know, I don't want to speculate on what he's watched, it doesn't matter. It could be extreme anything, there are a lot of other bad categories besides that are best left unsaid. He may suffer in this life or face the consequences for his sin. Gods forgiveness is more important however. The answer now is as simple as it always was. Repent and serve the lord now. Whatever you've done just serve the lord now. I've messed up a few times in this so I don't want to make it sound like its always easy or I have never failed because I have. But the foot of the cross is always the answer. We have a just but merciful God. A broken heart and a contrite spirit are pleasing to the lord. Anyone who lacks in these areas should pray for them.

There is a bit of error in this. God never leaves or forsakes anybody. Yes true a person can sin to the point they never want to turn to GOD, but if a person honestly tell God sorry after committing a act(no matter how many times they did it) and work to stop doing it with Holy Spirit, they are forgiven and have been the moment they intently turn from it and ask for forgiveness. Esau repented with the wrong heart. That is why it didn't matter. He wasn't sorry for what he did(sorry is not always a feeling it is a will ultimately). He just wanted God to give him that birthright back. He wasn't sorry for offending God and just wanted that birthright back. A person who is beyond repentence have no intentions on turning from what they doing and working with God at all! That is the danger of continuing sin. You will eventually get to a place where you don't care to repent and won't stop working to stop doing it and can careless if it offends God or not. So it is important to work to stop doing it and pray for GOD to soften your heart again. However, the moment you turn from your sin and ask for forgiveness that you have offended the Lord and that you need his strength and help to turn from it ready to stop doing it, you are forgiven.
Right! I totally agree with you. I believe it's not God who changes; it's us. God cannot change His nature, He is always loving and willing to forgive us. However, it is possible for us to go on sinning to the point where we grow deaf to His voice and our hearts become so hardened that we can no longer experience genuine repentance. In that case, we end up like the people in Jeremiah 29:13 "These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. @I need Jesus some wise words I've heard from a couple well-known internet pastors recently I won't name so they aren't judged by their followings, but one basically said that you know you're still saved because you still desire Jesus Christ and you still desire repentance. God knows you're scared and He knows you really want to repent and believe, He doesn't need you to do some magic ritual. Jesus covered the whole thing on the Cross, the old you that didn't have Jesus died with Him there and rose again in His resurrection when you accepted Him. when you stop wanting Jesus and you just go back to sinning regularly and maybe half-heartedly praying every once in a while, you've wandered off. but Jesus will *always* take you back.

I prayed a long time to know what the truth was, because over the years I grew increasingly confused, frustrated, misguided and so on.. But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved, etc, ...maybe something would give. But nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short - my whole Christian life was that way until recently. I asked the Lord to remove my spirit of lust from my heart. I used to live a promiscuous lifestyle...but for the longest time I've refrained from dating. Except for when I got involved with a married man from work. It didnt go anywhere past the few kisses we shared and some messages. I'm glad we didnt do anything. But it's still aduktery. He doesnt think so but I actually prayed for their marriage. As much as it hurt me and caused me anguish when he completely rejected. I wanted to tell his wife about our affair and he threatened to kill me. I fell into deep depression. Then I came to realize that this is what I prayed for and satan was angered and that's why he tried to destroy me afterwards with feelings of guilt and shame. But praise Jesus He knows I confessed my sins and repented. I no longer feel ashamed but I admit I'm a sinner but Jesus paid for my sin on the cross. The devil loses this battle. I am going to keep praying for those in bondage and continue to pray for God to strengthen their marriage.

Let me just say this, God will never walk away from a person who believes and we cannot send God away. On the contrary, we are the ones who walk away from God when we stop believing in Christ. The confusion is that people assume we have a license to sin. When you understand that the way a saved person sins and unsaved person sins is different then you get the picture. A saved person has the spirit and he has no sin limit and he convicts you and makes you hate your sin. The unsaved do not. Paul said Since i No longer do the sin that i want to do, I now I AGREE that the commandments/law of God is good and the sin can not be counted against me So there is now no condemnation for those in christ. Again..God cannot lie in his word so if he says NO CONDEMNATION for those in christ and he says Those who believe are IN CHRIST. Sin is not a factor but we cannot sin like we used to because we now hate it . The spirit changes your attitude towards sin. An unsaved can feel nothing when the sin but a christian always does and hates it and wants to get away from sin. So paul says that the spirit and flesh are now warring with each other and we are stuck and conflicted, so we must make our spirit or new man stronger so we can resist. We do this by reading the word and fasting and praying. Paul talked about continual sin, he said the good i want to do (because he is born again) he can't do but the bad he now does not want to do THIS he KEEPS on DOING. So the flesh is leftovers and all we now have to go off of is that the spirit that can't sin nor desires it is in us is added to our corrupt bodies. THE BODY IS DEAD BECAUSE OF SIN. we died with christ how can we live in sin any longer, That is dead weight. So to recap. Unsaved can sin and feel nothing. Saved hate sin therefore it is not counted so no sins are counted. We must ask for forgiveness because we need to restore the relationship with God not because we need to wipe it clean again for salvation otherwise, We could do everything right and mess up on something , get hit by a bus right away and not have a chance to ask for forgiveness So it cannot be that asking is what saves us. i was very messed up for a long time (and still struggle sometimes) in feeling that i had to somehow cry “real tears”. sorrow does accompany salvation, but to try to work it up in myself is just that. a work. it will not save me or impress God. i will never be sorry enough for sin just like i will never love Christ as much as he deserves. Paul Washer has a great clip titled “don’t expect a perfect repentance”
Does God expect a perfect repentance? He does not want anyone approaching Him to be double-minded (James 4:8). It's like coming to a marriage and it is perfectly possible to turn the page to past partners once and for all. When it comes to the relationship with Jesus, sin is our master that He delivers us from, and going forward Jesus is to reign over our hearts. And it is possible to one who wholeheartedly turns to Jesus and hunger and thirsts for righteousness (Matthew 5:6) to not have an experience of going back and forth between having his/her eyes on Jesus and having his/her mind/heart/emotions turned toward sin.
So, it is fitting to ask whether the idea that someone has of repentance lines up with what God calls repentance.
You can read about Jesus' call to repentance in Matthew 12:41 that will send you to an actual example of what God expects in Jonah 3:10. We learn that because that wicked city repented at the preaching of Jonah, it was spared the judgment God was ready to punish it with. Now imagine if 10% of the people were "struggling with", say, idol worship as the excuses go today about continuing to commit various sins, knowing right from wrong but still choosing to do wrong. That would simply translate to a failure to repent. We are better off being in agreement with God:
James 4:8
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Being double-minded will lead to 100% failure to repent (which God does not expect). And it will be understood because if the promise of "[God] will draw near to you" is not fulfilled, the only way to look is toward oneself and consider whether one had drawn near to God in fact. God is absolutely involved in the process of repentance. But a sinner can't be waiting on God while God is waiting on him to make a choice about how he is going to live in response to his call to turn to Him.

We must be quick to repent every time and confess "genuinely" and keep praying. Once saved, you never lose salvation and the bible is clear about that too. But for this, you must be a genuine believer of Christ and do the will of the Father as per Matthew 7:21 and John 6:40.

I love your encouraging comment my sister. Just wanted to add that He guides us but He doesn't 'control' us. We all get tempted and we can decide to fall for it or not. But He will always warn us for sin and give us a way out. We have to spend time with God so we can hear His voice clearly.

But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved, etc, ...maybe something would give. But nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short - my whole Christian life was that way until recently. (powerless) God has since saved me through genuine faith alone in Jesus Christ and now my labouring has finally ceased and I share in the Lords light burden and easy yoke. I’m born again of the Spirit.

this is what has helped me with my addiction to porn and random sex. I've always heard about the no fap/semen retention and it was the very beginning of last year that I watched this specific video that changed me forever. I felt like I had to do it now, I felt like God was telling me to do this and so I did. I haven't watched porn nor masturbated since that night. that was a year and a half ago and I've only slept with two other women (who I was dating but had feelings for) I made it 6 months while retaining a year ago and now currently I'm over 7 months on the highest streak yet. i feel absolutely amazing now mentally and physically. God replaced a temporary pleasure with something better and its a great thing he has done for me. id recommend turning to this goal and he'll help you fight the urges like he did me. God bless!

This pastor neglects to say the most important thing: that without Christ, it is not possible to truly and effectively repent. Jesus said, "Apart from Me, you can do nothing." Without Christ's help, I could not repent. My repentance was ineffective because I kept trying to lean on my own righteousness, which is worthless. God revealed to me that I had to trust Him and His sacrifice on the cross to have paid for my sins. When I finally saw that, I no longer felt compelled to sin. I could repent, and the draw was simply not there; like trying to tempt a mouse into a trap with steak rather that cheese. When I slipped up and allowed myself to be tempted, I repented and moved on, rather than staying in my sin as I used to. But I knew I had been well and truly delivered when I was no longer afraid to confess and discuss my sins. I'm still ashamed of them, but I'm not afraid anymore. Freedom is coming, and it's coming for you. I bore this burden unnecessarily for twenty-six years, and Jesus Christ delivered me. My sins were remitted the second I rose from the waters of baptism--all sins past, present, and future. Don't give up: whether you've sinned twenty days, twenty years, or twenty decades, freedom and forgiveness are for you; your slavery is temporary and more ephemeral than you imagine.
Honestly the Bible is very clear about this. When we start feeling the flesh pulling us towards sin. We must do as Jesus Christ did. Go to God, in prayer and God, will help you overcome the challenges of temptation. We all struggle there’s not one who is perfect. God, bless you keep up the strong fight.
What gave me victory over porn and lust was watching every video on TH-cam about hell and people who had been given a glimpse of hell. If you struggle with this as I did, start here. It kindled the utter fear of God in me, the dire fear of His eternal and fierce judgment of sin. It made me realize I had been playing with God as I played with sin, taking His forgiveness for granted, when in reality I was on my way to hell because my faith was lukewarm and wasn't repentant faith. So in utter fear, I begged God not just to forgive me through the blood of Jesus, but to strengthen me with His Holiness because I had none to withstand temptation. And He did. God is very good and longs for you to turn to Him in repentance. You can't beat this by yourself but He can give you the victory. And don't believe Satan's lie that you are beyond being forgiven. God will be faithful to forgive you when you repent.
I also renounced Satan's hold on my life and commanded through the blood of Jesus that those demonic chains of immorality be broken. When you watch porn, you are literally inviting the demonic world into your life. That should terrify you. It did me once I realized the dark doors I was opening. And that stronghold that you have allowed the enemy to build must be destroyed if you truly want victory. That victory is possible through Jesus, prayer and standing on God's Word. Satan will flee as you renounce that sin before God.
Then give each day to God and choose to walk in repentant faith, knowing that God loves you but that He is also Holy and will fiercely judge sin. Putting God first in your life will be costly. It will cost you the pleasure of sin for that day. Not easy if you're addicted to porn. But so worth it. The frontline of the battle will be in your mind. Begin taking every thought captive for Jesus. Make Him the Lord of your mind. If you give your mind over to lustful thoughts, even for a moment, it will be a quick slide to failure. Be ruthless. I can tell you that victory is real. And the longer you walk in true repentant faith, the easier it gets. Love God first and make Him first in your life once and for all. God bless.

I have to say, this frightened me some. I want to want God and desire God and have eternity with him and want to hate my sin and be free from death but its like I cant get my heart right... Its like I cant WANT God, cant hate my sin, and I feel so stuck. Despite my prayers and acceptance of Jesus I feel like I cant/dont know God... Its like I cant even get my heart right TO trust Jesus, and cant find a conviction of sin. All I am is fear and Im scared. I dont know what to do. I never wanted God consistently- just the freedom from death he provides, which is scary. I only occasionally feel true affection for God.
And Ironicaly, after months of sexual sin and war last year, I found myself in a situation where God litterally stole away my sexual desire. I was a usual man, struggling with lust and then after months of overthinking just.. stopped having an interest in woman. It was scary, and Im trying to trust God in that fear. Im now wondering if God did that to save my heart from further temptation or sin... I dont know how to respond to it. But thats besides the point. even now that I havnt struggled nearly as much with sexual sin, I still cant find a better heart. I dont know how to grow or what to do, feeling like I cant be saved even though I accepted Jesus very young. too much is still wrong with my heart.

It's exactly easy just stop searching it and pray and now I don't bother with porn. But please still pray for me I still struggle with masturbation and sex itself . It's hard especially as a teenager going through puberty experiencing all these different emotions and hormones. Only God will help . I believe there’s a part in the bible where Jesus says that not everyone who calls on the lord to be saved will be saved.
I think that means the fake christians who go to church and pretend they are good people, but don’t cherish a relationship with Jesus or even really believe his word or repent for their sins.
Either way I think it’s best that we refrain from ALL sin and keep up the fight against sin our whole lives. And it’s extremely important that we spread the word in a non aggressive way and convert everyone we possibly have an opportunity to convert.
We must also make sure that our Christian friends/family truly believe the word of the lord and repent to be saved.

God delivered me out of my own addictions with a 7 days fasting(abstain from sin) with a commitment to God during these 7 days I must abstained from sin. Every time sins comes to mind, I rebuked it in the name of Jesus. By the end of 7 days, God gave us a new spirit and ever since that day I am now living in holiness. Once you live in holiness and do away of sins, you just addicted to holiness and your spiritual growth started to explode. Sin is the separation with God's presence so we must commit to God and he will give us strength if we commit to him. Try it and I am sure God will help you if you are committed to him. May God set you free in Jesus name, amen. Oh, after few months later, God gave me the gift of healing, praise God for he is faithful.

It will help you examine your foundation as a Christian and compare how you have begun your Christian walk with what the Bible teaches. Salvation gets you into a relationship with Jesus by the Holy Spirit that God gives to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). That implies a radical change (ex: love for God and hatred for sin), and consistency in that going forward in the new way of life that Jesus brings and allows you to live with the empowerment of his grace (Titus 2:11-14). And your life will indeed be marked by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) rather than the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21).

But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved, etc, ...maybe something would give. But nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short - my whole Christian life was that way until recently. (powerless) God has since saved me through genuine faith alone in Jesus Christ and now my labouring has finally ceased and I share in the Lords light burden and easy yoke. God's grace will help you overcome sin and live a new life that is pleasing to Him (Titus 2:11-14). But it starts with repentance first, in the way that the Bible teaches it. If you are in 100% agreement with God about doing his will for the rest of your life, you will become "dead to sin" as the Bible says (1 Peter 2:21-24, Romans 6:1-2, Romans 6:11): that is how you will be set free from sin. If you are dead to porn, then you will be walking in freedom and overcoming it as well as all other sins by the grace of God (Titus 2:11-14). That is different from being in a constant battle. You can be once and for all victorious in Jesus.
It is important that you answer God's call to repentance the way the Bible teaches. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (Romans 3:25), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), freedom from sin/addictions (John 8:34-36, Romans 6:4-7, Romans 6:14-18), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation.
You must submit to God. That is essential:
James 4:7-8

We all have sinned and fell short of the glory to God. The problem is, that God is holy and doesn’t live with sin. So we all deserve to go to hell, but Jesus paid the price so you don’t have to. All you have to do is confess Jesus as your savior and repent (turn from all sin) and you’ll can have eternal life.
No one knows your heart but our creator.
Stop it before it's too late, I've come to a point with that same experience, I did question Him why, but the truth is we cannot admit that we are nothing without Jesus. Humble your heart and cry it all to God just like what John Piper said. Cry every moment, flee, read and soak in His word. Do not stop asking prayer from your fellow believers. Stop believing the lies, God cannot be mocked. Stop turning away from God!!! I'm also speaking to myself. Let's stop all of this worldly lust, all these lies that put death to many. Believe the truth in Jesus Himself before He returns.

I relate to this a lot. I struggle with pornography and I feel powerless against them. I want to stop all of my sin! I am nothing but lukewarm and I know it but continue to sin. How can I ask God for forgiveness every time I sin... just to do it again? I still have a little faith though. God will change me, I am *sure* of it. He will change me! This video is making me cry! I never cry! It is *proof* that God is working in me! Please pray for me!
You need to repent genuinely. When you turn to God, you turn away from sin. And what you come into is a relationship like a marriage. You need to approach it like a person who gets married would completely turn away from past partners. Sin is supposed to remain in your past (like a past partner) once you come to God. The relationship with sin gets broken off in repentance. Read Romans 6:1-11. You don't give in to it unless you have been double-minded about serving God from the start. So, go back to the square one of repentance followed by faithful obedience to God (faith) going forward. Once you reach 100% agreement with Jesus about sinning no more (John 8:11), you will see his power at work in your life to make you a new person, literally, who wants nothing to do with sin. Prayers work together with what you need to have a resolve to do on your end. Make sure you approach God the way He expects you to with the right mindset.

That's what your attitude needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life (that's the kind of "change of mind" God wants to see). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key--that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is the salvation you must make sure you have experienced: freedom from sin (John 8:36, Romans 8:1-2) versus bondage to sin (John 8:34, Romans 7:23).
Approaching God in genuine repentance will lead to you receiving the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)--with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any habit that controls you reveals idolatry in your heart. You have to choose to be done with that and it will be part of your past. That's one thing that will come out of your commitment to be obedient to God for the rest of your life. Please see 1 Peter 4:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9.

21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls [that's repentance]. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

Please stay in the word and obey it (James 1:21-22). The word of God is fuel for your faith. To live as a follower of Jesus you must go out of your way to put the word of God in your heart and keep it there, rejecting all distractions. It's a fight and that's how you need to stand to not fall down. The truth will set you free from all sin (John 8:31-32, 36).
