Teaching that new testament believers in Jesus ought to tithe is not only a heresy but a way of extorting money to keep a pastor or pay the banks. Listen carefully, there is no new testament teaching or even a single example of a new testament believer tithing. We need to stop teaching this nonsense
Why they call TITHE the FIRST FRUIT tells you clearly there is a problem with tithe, and therefore someone has to manipulate it to give it another name. Under the new covenant, it is clear how we are supposed to give, you don't see Paul or any of the apostles collecting tithe.
Pastor, you are someone l do listen to. With all due respect, l disagree with your exposition on this message. One can try all they could. If Jesus, The Apostles especially Paul and Peter did Not teach or compelled the church in their time to bring their first fruits to the house of God. Please with all due respect l disagree. If the church is being built on the foundation of the Prophets/Apostles, we should study how they did it. l believe 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8 Giving is not compulsion in the dispensation of grace. We are not under the law period!
(1) This preacher is not from the levitical tribe of Israel. (2) This preacher is not ordained by God to receive tithes and offerings under the law. (3) This preacher doesn't know that God requires a heave offering of all the tithes and offerings, as the Lord commanded Moses. [ Numbers 18:28 ] (4) This preacher doesn't know that God ordained the tribe of Levi to receive tithes and offerings from the children of Israel. [ Hebrews 7:5 ] (5) This preacher doesn't know that, if you don't offer God the heave offering, as the Lord commanded Moses, you are robbing God. [ Malachi 3:8 ] (6) This preacher doesn't need to use the levitical law to receive tithes and offerings, because Jesus, and Paul said, a labourer is worthy of his hire or of his reward. [ Luke 10:7 ] & [ 1 Timothy 5:18 ] If the preacher is poor, all he needs to do is ask the church congregation for the things that he needs, and if the church congregation loves you, they will help you out. This is why it is important to teach the church congregation to love one another with action. If the whole world were to love one another, we would all be content with: FOOD WATER HOUSING CLOTHES ELECTRICITY HEALTH CARE The love of money is the root of all evil. [ 1 Timothy 6:10 ] The leaders of the world, and the rich do not want the solution to the root of all evil, because of the love of money.
The first fruits in the old testament is symbolic of Jesus who fulfilled this by becoming the first fruits of those raised from the dead. New testament teaching is not to give tithes or first fruits to a church. The apostles doctrine is seen in acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37 and ALL giving was done to meet the needs of the saints. We waste billions supporting churches and mortgages and salaries.
Tithe is something which has made me what I am today
My brother! its the GRACE OF GOD! Not tithing but HIS GRACE, GRACE, GRACE!!!
When we get the wrong teaching it leads to wrong believing. Paul teaches us on the grace of God so that we don't boast of our works.
