Great work! We had this toy as kids. Thanks for the refresher on all the things he said! We could only recall a few.

I have my Mr Ed from Christmas 1962. I would love it if he could still talk. Might have to try this one day.

I have this exact Me.Ed, just acquired it. My voice box was in perfect condition and the puppet was dirty so I cleaned it up. Sadly, the mane was coming out and a good portion is missing but not too noticeable. Kinda scared to add some more yarn just in case it looks off. Oddly enough he was in a temperature-controlled storage room for years but now he's beautiful, on display and loved for years to come.

Try finding a cheap one and transplant mane pieces.

I woke up this morning and my fiancé was so excited that you had a new video! He said you haven’t made one in awhile and he was worried that maybe you were depressed. Glad you’re back! You brought a little happiness to our day.

Thanks. I was depressed. I’m working on it. Should be another video up by tomorrow.

I am going to try to fix a Chester O'Chimp from 1964. It's mouth is supposed to move, so it will be one more thing to watch out for when working on the belt, or o-ring. I was told he doesn't use an O'ring, but a toothed belt. I might do a video because I can't find one anywhere online! (I had one as a child, so am reliving my youth) ha ha. I will be mindful of the spring! Thanks.

That’s interesting because I’ve only just acquired my first talker with a moving mouth and it works fairly well so I don’t have to mess with it. I’m still after the chimp.

If the talking box doesn't work you could always make him into a regular puppet. That's what I did with my Woody Woodpecker puppet

Paper towel stands from the dollar store work great for puppets

Neat toy. Too bad they didn't use the voice of Mr Ed himself Allen "Rocky" Lane.

I was more disappointed in the Talking Viewmasters. They weren’t the original voices at all!

Thank you for this. My son and I enjoy fixing these old Mattel Pull String Dolls. Some are successful. Some not. We have a question about the "clutch" (the medal piece that connects to the record piece). What do you do if this separates? Is it fixable or is there nothing you can do if this happens. We would REALLY appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Kind of hard to picture exactly what you’re talking about but if it’s not broken it should be able to be reassembled. You have to hold the whole assembly down as best as possible because it it pops up and separates you have to get it all aligned back and “squished” back together or it won’t work right. I’m still kind of practicing myself. Like you said, some are more “fixable” than others.

What size O ring do I need to buy?

Hi, Do you happen to remember what size O ring you got from Ace hardware? I' repairing a 1964 Talking Herman Munster Doll and the O ring has crumbled like Mr Ed's. Thank You

Unfortunately I don’t. All my stuff is in storage or I could just measure the extra ones. Try measuring the record as best as you can and go with the next size up.should be close. Might need to trial and error. I think the diameter is 1/8”.
