To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edged as an investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough. Just a correction.... The signal line is not a 26 period moving average... the 26 is the slow period moving average. The 12ema and 26ema cross happens when the macd line crosses the zero line. The signal line is a smoothing moving average that is usually set to 9

Yes, it is easy to trade if you can see the future and skip trades which are not successfulll as you do in minute 4.35. Knowing the future makes winner.

For everyone asking about different time frames this strat would work on. These type of strats will work on any timeframe or range charts. The issue with smaller timeframe or ranges is there will be more trades, so you have to be careful and not tak😮e every trade, context matters.
The MACD line is not a 12 EMA, it's the difference between the 12 and 26 EMA (on default settings).

Just try to diversify your portfolio to other market sectors, that way your investment is balanced and you don’t get to make so much losses.

I've implemented this strategy in pine script today since i was interested in how well it behaves for stocks and indices on a daily interval.
The results are mixed: In quite some cases trades are closed because of the stop condition.
This means that a) additional criteria have to be found to start a trade and/or b) better conditions have to be found to close a trade earlier because of a loss is occurring.
Would you mind sharing this script with me? I'd like to improve it further with additional criteria :D

Try do the macd on heiken candle @34 144 9 settings. Aim for histogram divergence and do it in 5m TF. Use trendmagic indicator and entry on market cross TM on the divergence condition. Try it. Its good.
MACD settings: fast length: 12, slow length: 26, signal smoothing: 9, source: close

It looks rare for the cross to happen below the midline while the price closes above the cloud

Let’s say in a long trade, what if the whole candle flies outside the cloud completely that the upper wick wasn’t touched to it but fits the MACD conditions you mentioned (fast crossing down the slow line while above the zero line)?

I am really hoping you reply to this. So let's say I trade stocks, is there a way to scan for these on a daily basis? Or, should I pick a few stocks that have decent volume every day and just narrow in on those?
This one does not show up. Was it named something else?
The third unblurred trade (first short trade on 26 Jan 2022) should have been stopped out after two candles! It looks like the stop loss has been widened a bit to let it play out successfully...

Hello Pinetrades, i love this strategy, currently testing how to master it. I do have a question. If my MACD crosses for a long trend and 2 candles later it rises above the cloud, do you still consider it as a valid trade?

actually the signal line is a 9 smoothing average of the MACD line. the 26 MA is the zero line, just fyi. great video!

I can backtest this strategy in several markets and I quarantee it will not be profitable! I have backtested very similar snd more complex strategies and onky way to show profit is to over optimise/ curve fit

It doesn't have to touch the cloud. It can open and close above the cloud

The sixth trade gets stopped out, but it enters one bar too early. This back testing doesn't look reliable. Could you clarify please?

Would you still take the trade?
As long as the candle still closed above the cloud, you take the trade.

Just learn how to trade. A indicator is just a reflection of what candles are doing. EVERY INDICATOR LAGS BECAUSE PRICE ACTION MOVES. indicators only move once the time frame that your trading on is complete.
whats the logic of MACD Cross over below the signal line? Can we do a similar set up in higher time frames like Day, Week Or Month?
my chart doesn't look like you ,The candle is below the cloud and the crossover will also be below zero line and vice versa
