We went on a “Dublin Bay Cruise” - they offer a few options but the one we took was from Dun Laoighre out around Dalkey Island and back. My friend Clare bought me the tickets for my birthday a few months ago and I had to wait till things opened up again. 🛥

In my family, you cannot walk Dun Laoighre pier without getting a Teddy’s ice cream. My granny grew up having a Teddy’s ice cream everyday of the summer. So every time we walk the pier as a whole family or just myself and a few friends I have to get a teddies ice cream. One year we decided to walk it on Christmas Day and Teddy’s was open and we all got icecream! You can’t break a tradition.

Not sure how this came up, but, Bob Denver played his awkward character as not only Gilligan, but as well Maynard G Krebs, back in the old Dobie Gillis show, as well, not to mention, in many Disney movies, to the tune of many millions, for such a geek. I never met him, but apparently, he was as kind in 'real life'. For some odd reason, I've always associated him with 'real ice cream', but why, I'm not sure. Perhaps, just by the confluence of connectivity, as if I would know. Meaning, as a family, we used to make ice cream back in the day. I still do, as if it means much, but for the intent. I feel the same way about real gravy, as if anyone asked, let alone real beer, or cheese, as if many have a clue.

Alex has the red hair and fair complexion of someone who would burn easily. It's a good look. And Clisare, you look beautiful. That cruise looks awesome. As long as it's not too cold or windy, I'm game. Last 'cruise' I was on was around a local lake. Not the same as the beautiful scenery you saw. Only highlight was seeing a couple of deer onshore. Do you have deer in your part of Ireland?

You can have the title taken away if they find proof of an older one, then it would be true that "at one time it was the oldest" until it was discovered that they weren't.

Looks lovely, although a tad dreary. If or when you can make it to this side of the Atlantic, the tours of Toronto Harbour and the Toronto Islands are gorgeous. There are also cruises of Niagara Falls and of the Thirty Thousand Islands of Georgian Bay.

In Newfoundland , if there where 3 people on the boat. They would say that each person represented Thirty tree and a turd percent of how many people where on the boat. I’ve been meaning to ask.
