My favorite band. I'm 74 and have been a rocker for over 50 years and pat and Dan really impressed me. My son turned me on to them in 2006!! I've been a fan ever since.
I just turned 76 so we're probably the same age. I've had a ear boner for this band since 2008. My grandson introduced me to Magic Potion and I've been a fan ever since too!

I keep on coming back to this gig. It’s outstanding. They blew the room away. With just a drum kit and a Telecaster. We saw Pat & Dan live in Cardiff Barfly in Sept 2003. We’ll be seeing them again in April 2024. Huge fans, us Welshies! 🤘
Two men. One guitar. ONE GUITAR. Fender amps. That's it. That is fucking Rock and Roll. No pedals. No bullshit. Just a guy jamming blues licks with his buddy on drums. The end.
@craiglloyd807 Sorry. You're correct. He used all kinds of shit to get his " correct sound". He disected his Hendrix guitar to the bone. The one set on fire. Or one of the ones.
This is by far the best Black Keys gig on TH-cam. We’ve never seen Patrick & Dan so tight. Mesmerising energy from both musicians. Kudos to the sound engineers too. 🫡

As Im watching this for the again - for the millionth time... I've come to realize that....This Live Concert has changed the way I look at music - from my roots and out. Always running back to this particular live video of them, these guys really had something deep going on, even if they didn't. I owe them my music sensibility and foundation.
I was at this show while travelling with my ex-wife ten years ago. I was twenty-two. It was the second time I'd seen them. (Toronto the year before) Their best records as far as I'm concerned. Funny how I could'nt get anyone to listen to them back then but everyone loves them now that they've gone commercial.
I to see the black keys back in October 2022…it was so kickass. One of the best concerts I’ve been to. Although it wasnt the same as this live show, it was still so awesome to see these guys live.

The only songs on the new album that aren't produced by danger mouse are its up to you now and gotta get away which I think are two of the best songs on the album, I also like weight of love but other and that it's pretty much shit
Really? I think it's pretty good, it's has a fuzzy guitar, gritty vocals and a Bo Diddley beat. It's no where near my favorite black keys song though I'd say my top 5 are 10 am automatic, Thickfreakness, till I get my way, your touch, and the breaks closely followed by weight of love
25:54 this is the best version of The Breaks they have ever performed, and they basically never perform it anymore, so this is the best version of The Breaks that will probably ever exist..
Ahhhhh old black keys. When they sounded like they pre-dated recorded music. Not what I hear on the local radio station when I'm trying to change black keys c.ds
For those of you who are interested in something new that is reminiscent of old black keys, but heavier and less melodic, check '68. It's not for everybody, but I dig it. Very raw duo rock group.
Commercials during the middle of a live song, not even having the courtesy of rolling during the intermissions, should be regarded as a crime against humanity in the highest of courts in any self respecting land.
One of Dan's best and longest... ;) Patrick is awesome for being blind without his specs & drumming this badass too, I know im blind without mine too..lol.

Favorite time period of the Black Keys and probably Rubber Factory is their best album. Kinda wish they would do their next album. with just guitar, drums and bass to maybe mix things up and return to a more raw and bluesy sound.
Laodamas Dimopoulos Duh, cant expect them to play the same shit over and over again. I love all their albums up to Brothers, but I honestly don't blame them for switching up the setlists, you can only hope that down the road they go on a classic black keys tour.
XxStonedKillerxX Thickfreakness or Heavy soul. or Busted should be on every setlist. I guess that its not only the making of new fresh songs ths keeps them out, but mosy importantly the change of style.
Laodamas Dimopoulos back in 2011 they had songs from The Big Come Up, Attack and Release, Brothers AND El Camino, that's when I saw them live. Anyways I'd rather hear "Yearnin" than those two songs.

This is the real black keys.
Dawson Nichols AFUCKINGMEN!
They're still the same people though
Dawson Nichols and brothers is not real?
YES!
@@andtheywillknowusbyourname5511 "Brothers" is real, it just isn't really as good as their 2003-08 peak.
My favorite band. I'm 74 and have been a rocker for over 50 years and pat and Dan really impressed me. My son turned me on to them in 2006!! I've been a fan ever since.

I am 65 and introduced my son to them by taking him to the same venue a couple of years before this on their first tour of Oz
Grew up in as the youngest member of a family that just love Free Bad Company Lynard Skynard these are the real deal.
"That's Patrick on the drumkit right there" Dans favourite catchphrase
Along with "We are The Black Keys, we're from Akron, Ohio"
Mine too!

Yeah, he said that at the concert I went to a couple of weeks ago

I honestly view The Black Keys as one of the greatest bands of this generation so far.
Sound staff: “where’s your bassist man?”
Black keys: “what’s a bass?”
Two men. One guitar. ONE GUITAR. Fender amps. That's it. That is fucking Rock and Roll. No pedals. No bullshit. Just a guy jamming blues licks with his buddy on drums. The end.
21:20 What's that on the floor behind his mic stand? Sure looks like a pedal board with quite a few pedals to me.
@craiglloyd807 Sorry. You're correct. He used all kinds of shit to get his " correct sound". He disected his Hendrix guitar to the bone. The one set on fire. Or one of the ones.
damn what I would give to go back and see them at a small venue during the rubber factory tour
I saw them in Memphis in 2006. It was soooooo GOOD.

So much better as a duo...
***** When you see them live yea, on an internet video Id rather have them as a full band.
Early Black Keys is raw, Heavy n kick ass
Realist 2.0 idk about heavy haha but yeah raw as hell. Greatest band of all time....?
No antics, no frills, no fuss
Just good fucking rock n roll
This has to be the BEST oldschool black keys set on youtube. What a tracklist ! amazing.
As Im watching this for the again - for the millionth time... I've come to realize that....This Live Concert has changed the way I look at music - from my roots and out. Always running back to this particular live video of them, these guys really had something deep going on, even if they didn't. I owe them my music sensibility and foundation.
You should watch them live at the crystal ballroom. One of the best performances of any band ive ever seen. Ever.
I definitely had an infatuation with their music back in those days. Sort of ended after Magic Potion, but they still rock.
degree of coolness goes off the scale .. probably the coolest thing since the word 'since' was coined...
I’ve watched this show at least 15 times in its entirety in my life
same man its a yearly ritual
We have seen it 16 times in our lives
Remind me not to over comment when listening after a few beers. I have evey album and every track is a a banger.
I was at this show while travelling with my ex-wife ten years ago. I was twenty-two. It was the second time I'd seen them. (Toronto the year before) Their best records as far as I'm concerned. I recorded this on my reel to reel so when someone finds it at the goodwill in 100 years they will be blown away
The golden era of Midwest garage rock.
So lucky to have seen them on this tour. Fucking amazing. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. So raw.
Fucking hell "Stack Shot Billy" is so fucking good live!!!!!
The black keys are awesome back then and now as well.Take it or leave it without negative feedbacks.Thanks.
I love the way Dan winds up into Thickfreakness
Thickfreakness blows my mind... every...damn...time !
Absolument géniale
Would actually like to see the lads return to this look now in 2021 to be honest. However the new album Delta Kream has some pretty wicked potential.
They won’t. They claim that it’s hard to sound like “a full band” in a large stadium. I guess that’s the risk of success.
I always end up back on this video
same
It has been in my feed for many years. Breaking in 2022 rite
Man, this performance of Everywhere I Go is so good. Their cover definitely does the original justice.
Best band of the 21st century I have no doubt. Love southern rock these 2 are up there with the Skynard man.
Man, Patrick used to be AWESOME.
T_T i know man, they didn't need turn blue
I think since I saw this video .. the Black Keys are my favorite band. See them alone on stage .. I confirmed that they were great musicians!
I to see the black keys back in October 2022…it was so kickass. One of the best concerts I’ve been to. Although it wasnt the same as this live show, it was still so awesome to see these guys live.

They got No Fun too. Great fellows
Ahhhhh old black keys. When they sounded like they pre-dated recorded music. Not what I hear on the local radio station when I'm trying to change black keys c.ds
How can 2 guys fill a room so well? Great guitar and hard-hitting drums. Just excellent.
You can say what you want , I love The Black Keys and I Love Dan Auerbach!!!
Just one telecaster and a drum set...
And a few cranked Fender combos. Hello from 2019.
And one hell of a voice
and a long bluesy hair
And a whole lotta soul
And pipes that could supply a metropolis with water indefinitely
I’ve seen this video so many times and I never noticed the tires in the background. Guess this was from the Rubber Factory tour...
For those of you who are interested in something new that is reminiscent of old black keys, but heavier and less melodic, check '68. It's not for everybody, but I dig it. Very raw duo rock group.
spot on Black Keys - why they got big - but they got big - then of course not so good -fuck it top lads
Commercials during the middle of a live song, not even having the courtesy of rolling during the intermissions, should be regarded as a crime against humanity in the highest of courts in any self respecting land.
I just watch this now omg
I saw The Black Keys in the winter of 2005/2006... amazing!! Dan had longer hair and a gnarly beard and they were still touring out of a van.
The best Set You Free performance.
Girl is on my mind my favorite song
thanks!!!!!
thanks
Hey yall remember they always break it down an go back to the two piece at least 4 or 5 songs per show 🤘🤘🤘

Woohoo there I was.. 🙌 👏
Absolutely love this. Love El Camino. Can't stand the new album. Going the way of Dave Mathews (sounds like adult contemporary)
Man, they were so freakin brilliant at their debut!!
This was the concert that turned me....I am from Akron btw. Pat was insane this night

Love these ads breaks for Chinese games right in the middle of a song. Nice work TH-cam

super mega sound!
Epic!
Pretty sure I was at this. The vid does not do the absolute wall of noise they produce justice. Amazing live act. Saw them many times.
This is them at their prime. I think the Crystal Ballroom one was pretty neat as well...
love the wmms t shirt cleveland/ akron rocks

Guitar nerds: head to 14:53 for a glimpse of a tiny pedal board. 4 mic'd amps, only 3 pedals (plus tuner.)
do you by any chance know what they are? other than the tuner, i think i see a tr2 tremolo and i know he used a Russian big muff, still does
SG02 No clue, but new video just posted on TH-cam with guitar tech giving a thorough breakdown of 2014 rig
Yeah I saw that, they mentioned Dan's telecaster but not the pedals. Thanks
The fact that duo and big muff come to hand is this band just states that it's a white stripes rip off.
+Jason Craig you're ignorant
love this
Thanks for your time. Let s hear it again for the black keys,I can't hear you turn it up loudet
Awesome
So, none of those 17 songs are on their setlist today. Sad.

Click on 'Show More" for the setlist
awhhh..thank you soo much....my favorite band ever. what time is it????? welll it's 10 AM AUTOMATIC
every time I see an old black keys live video I want to play the shit out of my guitar and abuse my fuzz pedal!
I thought I was alone! ha
Black Key fans... check out Black Pistol Fire ..If you haven't yet
The Big Come Up was fucking raw.
Negative: It needs nothing; it's loud, powerful, groovin', heavy and nuanced without the need of accompaniment. It's not necessary for every rock band to be a four-piece- keep your mind open when judging the variety of music that's out there.
LOL Check out Dan's old haircut.... He went through some hair stages.

This was a fucking bad ass set!!
