How to grow Dendrobium Berry 'Oda'

- In this vídeo I explain how I grow the orchid Dendrobium Berry 'Oda', a fantastic orchid and a "must have" in every collection. This is another vídeo of the #CareCollab series in which two or more channels team up to post a care vídeo of the same orchid, on the same day. 🦒🤸♀️🏃♀️🦋🐛!!!! Yeah, this nice setting is wonderful on a gorgeous afternoon like this. Even weeding and watering are a pleasure 🤣. The pool is a pleasure to the eye but I am not going in before it gets to 32ºC !!!!
The kingianum has smaller and thinner canes, overall is a smaller plant than berry oda, more like a miniature. Love it !!!I am increasing the humidity around kingianum to see if those keikis pick up and grow roots again. I am keeping them for you. They have a whole growing season to show what they can do 🤞.

Lovely carecollab video! Like this dendrobium but never had one. I just had kingianum which never rebloomed for me and die to my neglect died after 4-5 years that I had it. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
I am so sorry for your kingianum. It might not have been your negletthough, but the plant itself. The thing is sometimes we buy orchids that aren't vigorous enough and very often on their way down although we cannot see it due to their slow metabolism and the hormones they are given in the nurseries. Then we get full of remorse and buy some more... it's their business, some of the plants are good, others aren't... Thank you very much Mary, for your lovely comment, much appreciated 💖💖. Your dendrobium has so many beautiful flowers! I have a dendrobium with yellow flowers, but it hasn't bloomed in a while...
Yeah, I got the mug from a fellow youtuber, she has them for sale with several other orchids on it😄.
I also have Dendrobium with yellow flowers, it will bloom later in the spring but I had to give it some winter rest to índice flowering, with some water reduction and cold. Does your need winter rest too?

@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids I'm not sure if my Dendrobium needs winter rest or not. It has been on my balcony out in the cold all winter (not below freezing) and I sometimes forget to water it (bad plant mom...). Hopefully that was enough, and it will bloom later this spring.
This is beautiful! I love purple Dendrobiums. This one has very nice flowers. For some reason I'm realizing now I wasn't subscribed this whole time 😱 I just fixed it!

I had some struggle at first. I don't know exactly what I did differently to make it grow flowers instead of keikis but in our learning curve we develop knowledge that becomes a sort of instinct 🤣🤣

I have lots of bees now because my Rosemary are also in full bloom. In fact the Rosemary have been in bloom for months but during cooler days I could not see bees. But now they are coming by the dozens. I love to hear their buzzzzz.
My Berry Oda lives in the back of the porch. I have a few bees and butterflies too coming that way but they feel trapped because they find out the glass pane does not let them fly away. So, they sort of panic, I suppose. All they want is to fly out of there and they cannot. Whenever I see a bee or a butterfly walking up and down the glass I carefully rescue them and put them out to fly and find blooms in a safer place 🐝🦋
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids so cool rosemary still blooms there in winter, here they stop blooming end of autumn. Bees don't like cold, below 8 or 10 degrees they stay inside or very close to home. We have a little 'cold' spell, can't wait for spring to really kick in, miss enjoying the bees buzzing.

I have this, too. I got it badly wrong the first time I repotted it in a small bark mix. It stayed wet too long and, like most Dendrobiums, it doesn't like that. Now my plants are in plain bark and can dry faster they have done far better.
It also took me sometime to get it right!!! Hope you can join us for future update 🌺
