Reason lighting doesn’t work with others or trust because his back story he was in racing school and had a friend and on the final race to get a sponsorship his friend made his tire loosen and in the middle of the race his tire came out and had to withdraw while his friend won and got a sponsorship while lighting had to restart from the start of the school and from on there did not make any friends so something like that never happened again
That’s really interesting. I didn’t know that before! It also kinda makes the message of the first Cars a lot more impactful too, as it goes from him essentially learning to make friends for the first time to learning how to make friends again

Actually, come to think of it, Chick cheated a lot by wrecking other cars, yet he still won the Piston Cup. Lightning even cheated in the third film by switching himself out for Cruz, but once again, nobody batted an eye. I’ve come to realize that the Piston Cup doesn’t give a rat’s HAT about cheating, and it’s a crying shame! 😥
Yeah it makes total sense because remember he fired his own original Crew chief and wouldn’t let the pit crew give him tires and then they quit later on.
