If you threaten to kill the prime minister you will go to jail. Whats the difference if you threaten to kill your spouse. If its proven someone is threatening to kill someone they should get a mandatory 5-10 years jail. Threatening life should really be amended and looked at so this doesn't happen.
Where will all these people be housed, Prisons are already overcrowded. Will you give billions to build more Prisons?! Use logic! People threaten people everyday, mostly just emotions. His brother is clearly a piece of crap like he is, but this murderer should have been charged with assault in the first place, his visa/passport/citizenship stripped from him and he should have been sent back to live in his home country. Then his wife and children would have been safe. If he was tried and convicted on the original assault, that should have been enough to expunge him from the country. There need to be laws where domestic abuse victims have no say about charges, and it should be up to law enforcement and the courts to separate victims from abusers wherever possible. Victims will typically cover for abusers for far too long, so the option should be taken out of their hands. In this situation, simply leaving him was never going to be enough, and the excuse that he was just going to kill her no matter what, is a cop out for any progressive society.

I’m so sick of this hero shit narrative around women who cannot leave an abusive relationship where innocent bloody children are scarred for life from their inability to walk away from a deadshit. I’m 60 years old and the stain this has left in the life of myself and 5 other humans, who were innocent and unable to get away, is always there and has poisoned our lives. If you cannot walk away from a dangerous man then get your kids away. Give them to a loving, healthy and safe family until you can get your head right. As a child & an adult who's still suffering as a result of the domestic violence between them which has made its way to me in a profound negative way in adulthood, I know too well what you mean. Feared abused, neglected & oppressed mothers raise children worse than them in every which way possible unfortunately. By staying not only they put themselves in jeopardy but more so the very children they claim to love, care & protect with their lives 😔 its got nothing to do with religion, gender, culture, age etc but the mindset, personal ideologies & choices parents make when they are raising their children coupled with genetics.
@@myjourneytotruth absolutely agree. There is a psychological mental health disorder in these women who logically can see and know the danger but can’t leave.

You are 100% correct, but where your mums circumstances the same as yours? Like did she speak the language in the country she was in? Was she educated enough to get up and leave? These are all factors that force women to unfortunately stay and carry on enduring abuse. Restraining orders are fairly useless. I live in Ohio and helped a group of strong fighting women present a bill so that any person with a restraining order against them has to wear a tracking device/ like a gps monitor/ankle bracelet that they have to pay for, so that if they violate it by coming close to contact, the authorities are notified, and they are found and arrested. The breakdown here is that the Australian system didn’t understand Iranian/ Afghan culture. If they had, the threats on this woman would have been taken more seriously.
The Australian system doesn't understand their own culture and people, let alone anyone else's. The system is there purely to make money. Nothing to do with protecting the innocent sadly.
Thank you!! Finally someone recognizes that. I had a friend in a similar predicament years back when she lived in Saudi Arabia. It was bad, she was terrified. Its disgusting that police are saying for them it was not serious enough to act to protect her. Also at the end they state the law can't protect you if someone is hell bent to kill. A decent system should apprehend people that are likely to commit such crimes even when they only wisper a threat. Isn't too late to act after the fact which is always the case. How many women need to butchered for the law to learn?
I am so tired of abusers getting away with threatening with no repercussions. Threats on someone's life have Got to be taken seriously. Truly terrifying experience. Domestic violence has got to stop. Stop blaming the victim. There is zero excuse for hurting another life.
no, start blaming the victim. women keep going back to their victimizer - or they never leave at all. It should not be up to taxpayers to deal with someone else's "love life" and that goes for STIs and LGBT issues, as well. And, why didn't others - both within and outside of the family - do or say something about this?! In small towns, some people stopped doing business with a local pizza place because the man verbally degraded his wife and somewhat financially cheated his young wait staff out of their tips. We each must play an active (brave) role in affecting change.
@@genkiferal7178 The abuse/victim relationship is like two pieces of the puzzle they fit together and a co-dependency is what holds the bond ; that is why early in the relationship when the red flags appear the victim will downgrade, excuse and forgive the violence. At this point of the race we call life we have seen these stories time and time again; there needs to be A SHIFT IN HOW THIS IS APPROACH. For instance, why partners in a domestic abuse situation DECIDE to have children and bring vulnerable beings into an environment of chaos, abuse and fear WHERE IS THE COMPASION? The Australian police need to understand "Honour Killing". You can not just dismiss the situation stating "He might have threatened to kill her or not". This family has been terribly let down by outdated systems, their mother was cruelly murdered by the husband and the ridiculous laws in Australia.
The only thing that the Australian police understand is dishing out fines and arresting people. Anything above that is ignored. Rule 1 in Australia: You never call a police officer to help you if you are a victim of domestic violence. They flat out cannot and will not help you.
Police are not to be blamed. Immigration process is to be blamed. Asking police to deal with immigrant abusers is like paying human doctors to treat animals...dangerous most of the time.
Their is no honor in killing..it's an excuse for the men to beat the s@%t out their partner, if she don't comply... After all they are from that sh#&tty part of the world. They are the unwelcomed ones.

The problem lies with police, lawyers, judges and politicians who are spouse abusers; the very people we place our trust in to change laws are they themselves violating it near daily.
I agree. Here in America, there was a poll taken, it was reported by both police, and their spouses that there is domestic violence in their homes at a rate of about 40%!! I would imagine it's very similar in Australia, too.
Men just feel entitled to women and the children they sire... It seems like a gene mutation that many suffer from. Or a mental illness that is passed on from father to son..

So many of us like her. Some still survive simply because the abuser is too cowardly to do what he did in public view. RIP to all who passed. Stay strong and vigilant you who survived
To anyone here watching this and knowing they are in an abusive relationship please find your local resources and use them. There are domestic violence services like shelter, counseling, childcare, clothing and more. Shelters are usually houses that are safe houses that people don't know the location of. So you have to reach out to a local domestic violence organization to get into a shelter. Sometimes you will be bussed to a different city. Please remember everything you have pretty much can be replaced. Don't take make up, clothes etc etc. Take a journal of you have it, a phone if you can, your personal art but none of that is as important as you getting out. It doesn't matter how old you are, what you look like or who you are, you deserve peace and do not need to stay in this toxic place. This person will not change and they do not deserve any more chances. Get out and get out now. Take your children and go to a domestic violence place. They will call the police, get you to a medical professional, help you with shelter, show you how to fill out legal papers. Yes it's scary, you'll feel all alone. But that's what makes you brave, you have the courage to do this. Don't think about the immediate life changes as much as start envisioning your peaceful radiant future after this whole mess gets fixed. No one can make you do this. You have to do this for yourself. Now go. You are your strongest advocate for you and your children. May you be blessed.
You must not be Australian bc there are no such resources here like that. There are only services PRETENDING to give this help, but they do not actually help you.
This is heartbreaking. This guy committed vindictive premeditated murder after his wife took HER power back...and the children ended up suffering the most.
Not suspecting an Afghan of going trhough with his deaththreats after he has said that she disgraced him shows the Australian police and court system know nothing about Afghan "culture". It also bafles me that only women can disgrace or shame the honour, but not men. I wonder who invented that rule..
Agreed. The system is there only to make ppl fight with each other so the courts will be full and ppl will be broke from paying lawyer's fees. No money to be made from protecting victims. That's why the law will never change.
Absolutely heartbreaking, she endured so much abuse. The system didn't protect her enough. Such trauma for children to grow in this toxic environment. The children fought for justice for their mother
OMG, why is it the system can't see when someone's life is in danger after everything the police and courts are told. The judge and officers should have charges brought up against them for not doing anything to help this woman and her children. He was a lawyer so that's probably why they didn't believe her. These poor kids lost their mom, but at least their free of their tyrant of a dad. I hope these kids can try and lead as normal as a life as possible. He should have gotten the death penalty
I am an Iranian mother, have children your age, I am heartbroken for you all, so sorry for your loss. She is a proud soul in heaven watching over you all. Take great care of each other.
And yet police will consider misgendering someone abuse and act on that! The world has gone crazy! My late mother was the victim of domestic violence for most of her married life and though police would attend the home, nothing was ever done. This devastated my family and we have all suffered life-long effects of the trauma for more than 50 years.
Rip Zara. I'm so sorry you lost your life to this monster. I'm sorry to the children for the devastating loss of your mother. She tried to do the right thing and she was failed. And it's beautiful to see that you're using this pain and tragedy to campaign for greater justice for domestic violence victims to help protect others from experiencing the same pain. God bless you 🙏
When someone puts their hands on you…leave.. no matter how “sorry“ they claim to be.. they will do it again, and again…staying “for the kids” is BS…the emotional abuse they endure never leaves them & do you think that’s what you want to teach them for their future relationships? Money is not everything
She left and still look what happened?? First of all abuse victims know exactly what their abuser is capable of hence they are scared to leave and not just for their lives but their kids’s lives too. Even when they leave there is not enough protection and the violence escalates. There has to be strict measures in place so abuse victims can leave their abusers without fear. Abusers should not get access to their kids like in this case the “father” was granted. He did not deserve that.
I don't know if family members ever watch these shows on YT and read comments, but to Zahra's children, your mom was beautiful inside and out. I hope you have felt her comforting love come over you at times since your terrible loss. My heartfelt condolences to you. 🙏❤🙏
Another example of the system failing women who flee abusive relationships. The way he sat in the chair after murdering the mother of his children is disturbing. Writing to his children and placing blame for her own murder is classic narcissistic behavior. May she rest in eternal peace.
May she rest in peace and may her murderer spent the rest of his life in jail remembering what a horrible act he did I hope he never gets out prayers and condolences to the family
If you threaten to kill the prime minister you will go to jail. Whats the difference if you threaten to kill your spouse. If its proven someone is threatening to kill someone they should get a mandatory 5-10 years jail. Threatening life should really be amended and looked at so this doesn't happen.

Yet in the courtroom the victims are expected to have good lawyers to win the case against the abuser who WILL have a good lawyer since he will control the money, unlike the victim who will only have a court appointed 1st year lawyer. And no, he is not a man, just someone that should never have been born.
PS: The statements by the police are beyond pathetic; if someone threatens to kill you, take it serious, or will it only be taken seriously after you are dead as with Zara.
He stabbed his wife 8 times in a room of 300 people including his children and the police put his hands in paper bags for forensic evidence? 🤦♀️
Any and all evidence the police can collect from the crime scene is important. Witnesses make mistakes, don't always recollect correctly what they saw, etc. So it's important for police to collect any and ALL evidence, since juries can be odd, biased, or make huge mistakes.
@@BedlingtonGroomerno, of course evidence needs to be reserved, but using PAPER bags????, paper is absorbent. Not convinced PAPER bags would help the forensics afterwards.
So tragic. Those poor kids, losing their mom this way. Their mom is a hero. What she endured is unimaginable.
The son is such a great guy…so protective and loving towards his mother and sisters. The son could also have turned out to be like his dad but he chose not to and instead was a caring brother and son.
Reddy Kanta. Yes it's incredible that the son has turned out so caring, protective, a lovely man, so the opposite from his maniac father.
I think a lot of young middle eastern men including myself, worked hard to make sure we don't continue this cycle of violence towards people or our spouses, as it is a big problem in middle eastern culture abuse within the family, he has grown up in a place where we are taught to respect and value people and life and that our differences can be resolved.
Doesn't matter how good looking they r? I don't want anything to do with them?
@@arianayoung7537 Excuse me? Whose talking about looks? We are talking about the son’s protective and caring personality and not about how good looking they are. @@fransmaroki I’m so glad that the younger generation of today are making a change when it comes to the protection and safety of women and children. Brother hats off to you.
We should always treat the women in our lives with love and respect. They are the ones that bear children ,nurture children .and care for the family. Without them there would be no existence in this world. A loving mom is the greatest gift to a child and family.
His ego was bruised so he took revenge. Poor excuse for a male in my opinion. Our so called laws when it comes to protecting women from domestic violence needs to desperately change. Why should Zahra have to go into hiding in order to feel safe? How many warnings does it take in order for action to be taken? Clearly death! My heart goes out to the children
In your opinion? There's no opinion about it.

Your mama would be so proud of the kind, resilient, caring children she has raised. May you all continue to find strength and comfort in each other as you slowly come to terms with this awful thing.

So many times we hear the police ignored warnings or social services.About time this was taken seriously.

They dad was heartless and cold As if she was his property and she disrespected him by leaving like she was supposed to continue to be a victim This is heartbreaking
So sickening. Hard to fathom that level of evil is out there in everyday people. Condolences for the family and I hope they find peace.
What an evil man, his brother is just as bad.
"My mom was unconscious and my dad was still kicking her."
He hated his wife. If you don't love your spouse *walk away.* If your spouse abuses you *they don't love you.* Don't stay with someone who doesn't love you. Please...
He abused his children, too. It‘s all about control, not love. Some people just enjoy to have power over someone… the only reason for them to marry: to act out the controlling maniac!!

TRUE 💯 NOT ANYWHERE
It shouldn't happen anywhere. But the controlling and bullying of women goes on all over the world, even in the name of religion and culture. Obscene.
His brother said it should be manslaughter, does he even know the difference between manslaughter and murder? It is obvious this was a premeditated calculated act, the whole reason he brought the knife. He was simmering and waiting for the chance to kill her and that's exactly what he did. I understand wanting to defend your family, but she was also your family, the mother of your nephew and niece's. His brother is almost as cowardly as the father. I hate to think how he treats his wife and kids. That behavior is usually a learned thing. Makes me sick to think about. I hope this monster never sees the light of day. Thankfully he didn't have access to a gun, no telling how many lives he would have taken that day with his blind rage.
I'll be your Stumbleine:
The brother is just as cowardly as the father
My heart goes out to these children having to see all the abuse and to have their mother taken from them.
SO SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS! LOVE & BLESSING TO YOU ALL!!!
This was in honor of a woman who was murdered by her ex husband and her daughter nearly got away. He also murdered their horse. These MONSTERS must be held accountable BEFORE they murder any more women. My heart goes out to this family. May your next lifetime be much kinder. May your hearts heal. Bless you.
The audacity of the brother staying "he was provoked and charges should be manslaughter". Ego and despotism. My condolences to the beautiful children she had raised and sacrificed her life for.
At what level is so called provocation not a provocation but a desperate attempt to flee? These men have a wrapped sense of reality! They use the word provocation flippantly and without understanding. It's like saying if you abandon a fight you provoke ur opponent? It's so ridiculous it's unreal.

Very true.
Thank you!! Finally someone recognizes that. I had a friend in a similar predicament years back when she lived in Saudi Arabia. It was bad, she was terrified. She was able to get away from her husband with her children, but had to move to a different continent to feel ‘somewhat safe.’ I feel so bad Zahra didn’t have that opportunity.
You don't need to understand a culture to take deadthreats seriously. A threat is a threat.
That's NOT Iranian culture. The victim was Iranian and her husband was AFGHAN. So it's absolutely not part of "Iranian culture".
that CULTURAL acceptance must be DENOUNCED by EVERYONE
YES!!!! In all societies, regardless of which, there are some bad behaviors people complain about yet accept at the same time.
9:49 He was satisfied with himself because his plan worked. I am so incredibly proud of this women's children and the strength they have shown. The brothers are probably everything Zia hoped her son would never be and she succeeded in that.
I remember when this happened. It’s shameful how she was let down by the whole system.
It’s more than him being an ‘abuser’, some cultures condone the killing of your wife if she dishonors you.
It’s horrible, but true.
no, start blaming the victim. women keep going back to their victimizer - or they never leave at all.
A predator abuser will NEVER be attracted or pursue a confident, emotionally and financially independent person equally the victim is a person with low self-esteem, lack of direction in life and is attracted for a person that will lead her , guide her and be her center. Thus, society has to determine how to deal with couples that are in a domestic violence relationship and are plan to have children because they are the COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

The Audacity to not take responsibility. That's stupidity at its finest.
The system fails way too many people. My heart goes out to her family.

The problem lies with police, lawyers, judges and politicians who are spouse abusers; the very people we place our trust in to change laws are they themselves violating it near daily.
How about the cultures that condone killing your wife if you feel it’s justifiable?
His brother is just as despicable
OMG This is awful, why would his honour be worth more than her life. So very sorry for the children, condolences to them. Hope the father rots in jail.

That is messed-up. The law should be held accountable. His brother is just as sick as he is.
Not suspecting an Afghan of going trhough with his deaththreats after he has said that she disgraced him shows the Australian police and court system know nothing about Afghan "culture". It also bafles me that only women can disgrace or shame the honour, but not men. I wonder who invented that rule..

The system is absolutely fucked!
Agreed. The system is there only to make ppl fight with each other so the courts will be full and ppl will be broke from paying lawyer's fees. No money to be made from protecting victims. That's why the law will never change.
The son has me in tears.
Absolutely horrible for those kids... my heart goes out to them, just tragic ☹
The emotions that go across her son's face, and in his eyes, when asked what his mom was like...
His a monster he should have get a life sentence

Another example of the system failing women who flee abusive relationships. The way he sat in the chair after murdering the mother of his children is disturbing. Writing to his children and placing blame for her own murder is classic narcissistic behavior. May she rest in eternal peace.
