It's because starting from Wolf, they promoted as the whole Exo. It's just that in Korean version, Exo_K members have more lines and in Chinese version, the Chinese Members get more lines.

All members are in Korean and Chinese versions. They all sing in Korean or Chinese depending which version. In the Chinese version they will feature different members throughout. The different versions are strictly for the language, in China they want to hear it in Chinese, but they love all 12 members. They are a group with 12 members, and the Chinese or ExoM was created for promoting in China, and we know how many people are in China, so kpop booming over there means a good percentage of fans, so when they tour all over China of course the whole 12 go, speak in Chinese when interviewed, and all members have fans. What the heck are you confused about?🙄
I see where their confusion comes from for them because Growl and Wolf were released in 2013 under just the artist name being EXO and not EXO-K or EXO-M and then Overdose comes along in 2014 and it's back to being EXO-K and EXO-M even though they all perform together. Starting out EXO-K would just perform the song in Korean while EXO-M members made appearances and vice-versa but then they all started performing together so it just doesn't make sense to keep the sub-unit names on videos that consist of all members having lines.

Exo has superpowers, running away from the Red Force across the universe, saw Earth and it's turmoil and hatred and being Exo want to save and protect life, they came to Earth and disguised themselves as humans, at first students at a high school, hence the various forms of grey uniforms in "Growl", and they have the ability to turn into wolves when angered
as they sing a warning in "Wolf", back then SM did not include captions, and started to make captions in 2018 with the "Tempo" comeback, people complained for so long that other companies put captipns that SM finally started to do it. I was more than shocked!😳👍

On the Korean version, chanyeol start it while on Chinese version it's Kris who start it.
EXO used to be a divided group EXO K and EXO M (2012) but in 2013 SM decided to combined two groups with12 young boys together as one EXO ( that when exo slogan created "we are one") they still used the K and M, after the two group together both groups promoted together with korean and mandarin language unlike 2012 when they were divided and promoted differently and separeted, both groups will go everywhere together even if EXO M went to china EXO K would go there too, 2014 is like 2013 but tragedy happen kris and luhan left the group which give alot of people expecially EXO members shock dissapointed, some of them even cried during the whole situation. 2015 EXO (10 members ) still used K and M and promoted like 2013,2014 normal until the third chinese member Tao also left. SM once again decided to make EXO as one with 9 members promoted together forever in korean mandarin and japenese. there are alot of things about EXO that you guys didnt know yet , you guys should dig into them more deeper to find out what really going on. @ 4:40 yes thats Luhan and this is like the very first collab of EXO K and EXO M. They had come together on their songs, just the members getting different parts on their songs for different versions.
At the end of Wolf's music video, it was Luhan and Sehun who did that last pose in front.

It depends per album! Sometimes they promote as exo-k and exo-m, sometimes as one group, so that’s when it’s just EXO (korean ver) (chinese ver.)
2012 MAMA - as exo-k and exo-m
2013 WOLF - as just EXO
2013 GROWL(wolf repackaged album) -as just EXO
2014 OVERDOSE -as exo-k and exo-m
then they lose 2 members during this Overdose era so it leaves exo-m as 4members which leaves the counterparts of each other very uneven and unequal bec exo-k still has 6 so:
2015 CALL ME BABY- as just EXO
They lose the last and 3rd member here in this era so that makes exo-m just 3 members... so SM has decided to just permanently merge the subunits as just EXO with 9 members.
So every era after that is just EXO:
2016- Monster/Lucky One, Lotto(monster repackaged album)
2017-Kokobop, Power(kokobop repackaged album)
2018-Tempo, Loveshot (Tempo repackaged album)
2019-Obsession
They’ve also stopped doing the whole album in chinese version and just do full korean album with 1 chinese ver. song (the title track)

Overdose is an EP. It was right after growl era.
Wolf is the first time they mixed them together
From XOXO/Growl repack album until Overdose EP, EXO promoted as one group even though the MVs still put EXO-M and EXO-K in the title. The EXO-M, EXO-K indicates what version or language the song is sung and also which subgroup has most of the parts sung... In Overdose Chinese vers, the MV starts with Luhan and the song was started by the EXO-M members whereas the EXO-K members go in the 2nd verse of the song. All the verse sung by the K members are sung by the M members and vice versa on the Chinese version.

In both the Korean and Chinese versions all the members participated in this album. it's just that in the Korean version, EXO-K members get more lines. Likewise in the Chinese version, EXO-M members get more lines

Hi guys...l had s great time today.
Wolf is the title track of XOXO album. All of them are in the MV, but in the album (b sides), they're separated into K and M again (XOXO Kiss & Hug Version).
Growl (album) is the repackage of XOXO and adding 2 new songs, Growl (title track) and Lucky. All of them are in Growl MV too, but again, the other songs in the album are separated into K and M again (Growl Kiss & Hug version)
Later in Overdose (EP) they're all in the MV again, eventhough the singer is EXO-K for the Korean version and EXO-M for the Chinese version. The difference is, the EXO-K members have more parts in the Korean version and the EXO-M members have more parts in the Chinese version.
Again, the album is separated into Korean and Mandarin version too, and all the b-sides were sung only by the subunits (only EXO-K and only EXO-M).
I know it's confusing. I'm even getting confused while i'm typing this comment lmao.

In all Mv‘s you will see everybody. It was even like this in MAMA. The thing is the EXO-K members have more lines in EXO-K version, and they will have more screentime in the K version. And vice versa for EXO-M.
Definitely relisten to Wolf sometime, before making an album review. In my opinion the song is really good, I like the MV too, but I think that for newbies the MV is too much in your face and distracts from the music.
