Last year I was asked if I was Muslim, as I cover my head. I said I was Christian and he said "Good" as we parted to walk in separate ways after a brief 10 second exchange. It's also said to the men of Islam. That they might inadvertently look once, yet must then avert their eyes. Mennonite ladies were happy that I wore a simple white headkerchief. Being at prayer I usually if not always have my head covered and a shawl to cover the kerchief. Or 2 piece sari like gopi sets and sometimes hair in hat or braided modestly. On the other hand I see nothing wrong if it is hot to take off briefly and put water on my head or something.....Not a fanatical point for me just Going to end my statement with this. Modesty is always becoming in a lady. Not my Prophet. However, I did fall into the book once. one Islamic Doctor I spoke translated Islam as surrendered and yes, I am a surrendered soul. Small and insignificant save for the kindness and effort which one may make to act in Respect for one another. We could look at High school yearbooks docking photographs from showing clevege and the girls protest and say why? No Saint here, No holier than Thou attitude but if this is your chosen community then be submissive. Because in Islam they believe we are all Muslim at birth and anyone who changes to another religion is converting. So when you become Muslim you are reverting back to your faith at birth in their eyes, therefore a revert.

This is one of the reasons why in Judaism you cannot just become Jewish overnight by merely acknowledging God. You have to study in a class with other converts once or twice a week, sometimes for years, and really live as a Jewish person and have a Rabbi who will test your intentions and a "compagnon family" who will guide you though the shabbats and holidays and only then will you be allowed to go to a Bit Din (with at least two religious witnesses that will also be asked some questions about your devotion) and infront of 3 rabbis you will be questioned for half an hour about why you want to be Jewish, ask you to cite prayers and ask you about mitsvot and what you are allowed to do or not and after a period of waiting you will hear if you are welcomed into the Jewish nation or if you need to study more. It's really rigorous but it prevents this kind of mess and it is what keeps the Jewish nation so steadfast and ancient and powerful because the core, the roots, are strong. Islam will spread fast and die out even faster.

He was due to give a talk at a University in the UK but the pro pally crew intimidated him and refused to have him give this talk. He's received death thr**ts and has been defamed by the pro pally crew. And the police have done very little or nothing to help Ely.
He's also former IDF so would have lots to share on that. But the poor guy has been through a tough time. It's nothing new but has only got worse. If anyone wants to say hello to Ely Lassman and get to know what he does, he's on YT and other social media. And it'd be great to see him collab with the likes of AP and DW. I went to Turkey on holiday in 2010 with a few mates, sat having a beer around 7-8pm. Umar saw a slave-girl wearing a veil, so he struck her. He said: "Do not emulate free women."

A female slave came to Umar ubn al-Khattab. He knew her through some of the emigrants, or the Ansar. She was wearing a Jilbab (cloak) which veiled her. He asked her: "Have you been freed?" She said: "No." He said: "What about the Jilbab? Pull it down off your head. The Jilbab is only for free women from among the believing women." She hesitated. So he came at her with a whip and struck her on the head, until she cast it off her head.

About woman to cover themselves is not teaching of allah, its teaching of Umar. Those revelation came from Umar. Allah just said same thing as he did. How is it muhammeds companion bring revelations to muhammed 😂
"So this verse (the same as I had said) was revealed." So the verse was revealed exactly what Umar said 🙃

And as regards the (verse of) the veiling of the women, I said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I wish you ordered your wives to cover themselves from the men because good and bad ones talk to them.' So the verse of the veiling of the women was revealed. -3. Once the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) made a united front against the Prophet (ﷺ) and I said to them, 'It may be if he (the Prophet) divorced you, (all) that his Lord (Allah) will give him instead of you wives better than you.' So this verse (the same as I had said) was revealed." (66.5).
All this revelation coming from the everlasting uncreated tablet for observed earthly events in real time. Inspired revelations indeed.

Seems you didn't get me. Umar said "it came as I have said" came from where? He meant the revelations came exactly as he has said, my question is it came from where? The answer is it came as a revelation apparently from the everlasting uncreated tablet from whence came every revelations which is supposedly the very words of Allah as delivered by Jibreel. Jibreel was not collecting revelations from Allah on one on one basis, he picks the messages from the everlasting uncreated tablet. Remember every word of the quran are Allah's word verbatim with no changes not in letters not in diacritical markings. Get it? Read your opening and second chapter its saying the same thing.

Yeah. The new life is a Mormon knock off as the book of Mormon is a bit embarrassing. The niv waters the content a lot, but if your reading level isn't high it will do in a pinch. The main ideas are there.
The ESV is pretty good. There are a lot of foot notes in the new study bibles that may or may not be helpful. The reformation study bible is a safe bet.

I think halva is delicious. You should try it. It is sweet and the primary ingredient is sesame but different powders can be added eg chocolate (or coffee?) for flavour and also things like pistachio nuts. Go find a middle-eastern store or deli (eg Lebanese) and you will be sure to find it. Obviously it's a matter of taste, but I think it's seriously worth trying if you never have before. DW your kids might really love it.
