    Hey guys! Sorry for being MIA for the last month, but I'm back today with a really simple but fun tutorial on how to make your own tea infused whipped coconut oil moisturizer! Hope you like it :)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MEASUREMENTS
    2 cups coconut oil
    1-2 tbsp tea leaves of your choice ( my faves are green or mint tea)

    I like how I tried to whip plain, chilled microwaved, coconut oil so many times and failed. but this double boiler, and tea method, and chilled. works?? I think I was chilling mine for too long before.
    I used mint and mango tea. :) 1 bag of each, no one in my household uses loose tea. With 1 cup of oil (couldn't risk messing up all my oil) The mint scent is very apparent and overpowers the mango of course. But its not an overpowering scent on the skin or air or anything, afterward applying...very subtle and pleasant. Maybe I'll try just mint later. Used several cheap coffee filters to strain it. And whipped it with a wire whish for just a minute or two. It actually whipped up! Its 3am so I couldn't use the electric mixer LOL. I may rewhip it later, for now...into the fridge it goes. So glad I checked this out! and glad I used half of the coconut oil I had for a great purpose. The coconut oil melts with skin contact but is less messy and easier to apply than straight out the jar, solid or liquid. I enjoy the hint of green color, just the teas color, didn't add food coloring or anything. And loving the mint scent.

    Such a great idea. But if anyone makes this you need to keep in a cool place because during the warmer temperatures coconut oil (by itself) will turn to liquid and stay that wag until it is brought under 30°.

    Just finished making this I added about two drops of peppermint essential oil I'm obsessed with it!

    Just a tip, don't add the food colouring. It's water based and therefore will separate from the coconut oil, you'll just end up dying your skin and getting it all over yourself 😂

    • @Vanoosy
      @Vanoosy 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're right. I would use an essential oil instead.

    • @AllNatural28
      @AllNatural28  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      littleesecretss thanks for the tip! I haven't had any issues with that however, as you can see I added just a touch so there wasn't any issues with skin dying or separation. Thank you for watching :)

  • @louloupinky
    @louloupinky 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I really love the idea ! my only concern is the melting of the coconut that destroys the nutrients.... is it low enough that it will not damage the oil ?

    • @AllNatural28
      @AllNatural28  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lou Jane the smoke point for coconut oil is 350F, so if you keep it under that then technically you aren't losing any nutrients :)

    Do you just store this in a cool, dy cupboard? And how long can you store it for? Also, do you use like a normal moisturiser - once/twice a day? Thanks!

    • @AllNatural28
      @AllNatural28  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RainbowSmile You can use it only once a day if you have normal skin, twice if you have more dry skin. It's best kept in cooler areas and with this recipe you should get a batch that lasts you a good two weeks. If you live in a warmer climate please leave this in the fridge or else it will become liquid! Hope this helped :)

    • @AllNatural28

      +Sheryl Lau Hi! It's because coconut oil naturally melts in warmer temperatures. In order for this to stay solid, you should keep it in a cooler area :)

    • @Glad2bMe1
      @Glad2bMe1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try keeping it around 74F degrees. This would be about the perfect consistency. Since this recipe is purely coconut oil, it will liquefy at any temperature above 76F.

    What do you use as a preservative?

    • @iammewhoelse9430
      @iammewhoelse9430 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mxriamn Hello, Almond oil is not a preservative.
      You have to use a real preservative such as phenoxyethanol or methylparaben. There are others as well.
      From site: "Studies show that bacteria, yeasts and fungi grow “copiously” in unpreserved creams and lotions.
      Is that something you want to rub all over yourself?
      The risk of using preservatives in your products is far less than the risk of not using them.
      Vitamin E, rosemary extract, tincture of benzoin and grapefruit seed extract are NOT preservatives."

  • @annab7596

    Sorry ... but I don’t understand There’s a step missing . It shows you melting the coconut oil then simmering the tea leaves for an hour then putting it into the fridge for 15 mins . Then all of a sudden you’re whipping up something . Is that the tea just come out of the fridge ? Is it the coconut oil on its own ? Or is it all mixed together? It’s not shown or explained .

    Сoconut oil CANNOT BE USED FOR FACE! Because its comedogenic, ask any skin specialist. There is zero benefits from this kind of diy. First educate yourself.
