      It took you 5 minutes? Most people fall in love with a BMW after just about 30 seconds! I know I did when I first drove a '76 2002.

    My first car was a 1977 320i same color as this one bought it in 1992 for $1400 bucks with 40,000 miles.. brings back a lot of good memories👍

    The first car I bought was a charcoal gray 1978 320i. In Nashville, in 1982, BMWs were fairly rare. I would buy it again. ❤️

    That would have come with a 4 speed. Someone swapped it.
    '77-'79 had a g242, '80-'82 had a g245, and 1983 had a g240. the 240 and 245 were 5 speed, while the 242 was a 4 speed.

    Awesome video I just got a 1989 BMW 325I convertible was a gift from a judge . I love it . Is 5 speed manual and is ridiculous great in gas. Amazing. My 1995 525I automatic wasn’t so good in gas. This 1989 is older and I get twice the gas mileage

    I live in France, and my son and I are redoing a 1980 318 with Solex Carb. Pretty much finished repairing the rust patches, and hope to have it painted next January.

    My first car was a 1977 BMW 320is back in the early 1990s. At the time, my dad had a 325i and while his was nicer (I paid $1000 for mine) mine drove very well. Mine had really cool Recaro seats with adjustable leg rests and little BMW emblems on the side.

    Hard to find clean ones in Midwest, most disintegrated from road salt.... btw Hans Foreign in Rogers, Mn has the biggest selection of used parts

    I had thought about buying a used BMW, Audi or a Merc. Then I came to my senses and thought about the AUDI S90 That I owned in the 1970sIt was a money pit. Labor and parts are significantly higher now.........$$$$$$$$

    The 2002 looks deformed compared to the more evenly-proportioned E21

    Chassis bent in corners and dash creaked. Mine was fuel injected, a 4 speed stick 105 hp.
    10 trips for maintenance before 1,000 miles, (broken shock, headliner misaligned needing replacement, front upper A arms not tight, destroyed the continentals at 20,000 miles lived with steering vibration until I figured it out, dealer couldn't, 1st gear went out, requiring rebuild,

      undeadcatman I live near the Gulf of Mexico and it gets hot!! Having a classic car would be a waste if I couldn’t get the AC to work fairly well.

      My 1983 320i had factory air-conditioning and it worked fine.

    @drivinivankatz Would you happen to know what these wheels are called? I have searched and searched but can't seem to find the name/style of them.

    • @michaelhilber8284
      @michaelhilber8284 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      those are the stock steel wheels, 13 inch by 5.5 inch. they are a half inch wider than the bmw 2002 steel wheels (13 by 5). Also the offsets are different. So don't use 2002 wheels on a 320i.

      steelies is the generic term
